There is a growing tension within the Body of Christ that cannot be ignored. Across churches, denominations, and ministries, we are witnessing a concerning rise in division, offense, and fragmentation. While diversity within the Body has always existed, and indeed reflects the multifaceted wisdom of God—the spirit of division is something entirely different. It weakens, distracts, and ultimately undermines the very mission Christ entrusted to His Church.At a time when the world is becoming increasingly unstable and morally uncertain, the Church should be shining brighter than ever. A House Divided Cannot StandJesus Himself warned in Matthew 12:25, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.” These words carry prophetic weight for us today. Division is not a minor inconvenience; it is a strategic attack against the effectiveness of the Church.The enemy understands something many believers forget: unity is powerful. In Acts 2, when the early Church was in one accord, the Holy Spirit was poured out in power. Thousands were saved, communities were transformed, and the Gospel spread rapidly. Unity creates a dwelling place for God’s presence. Division, on the other hand, grieves the Spirit and stifles revival.A Prophetic Warning for This HourWe are living in a season where the return of Jesus is drawing nearer. While no one knows the exact day or hour, the signs of the times are evident. Scripture speaks of increasing lawlessness, deception, and a falling away. In such a time, the Church must be alert, prepared, and united.Division within the Body is not just a relational issue, it is a distraction from preparation. Jesus’ prayer in John 17 was not for uniformity, but for unity: “That they all may be one… that the world may believe that You sent Me.” Our unity is directly connected to our witness. A Unified Church in the Last DaysAs we look toward the return of Jesus, the vision is not of a fractured, defeated Church, but of a glorious, unified Bride. Ephesians 5:27 speaks of a Church that is “glorious, not having spot or wrinkle… holy and without blemish.”This kind of Church does not happen by accident. It is formed through surrender, obedience, and a commitment to walk in unity. It requires leaders and believers alike to lay down their agendas and pursue the heart of God.A Final ExhortationNow is not the time for division, it is the time for alignment. It is the time to repair what has been broken, to forgive where there has been offense, and to stand together in the truth of the Gospel.Let us be a people who choose unity over division, humility over pride, and love over offense. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, and prepare our hearts for His return.May we be found faithful. May we be found ready. Hi everyone, welcome to today's message. I'm Pastor Gary Hoban and we're going to be discussing a very important topic - the role of the Church in turbulent times, specifically focusing on Australia's current political climate. So, let's dive right in! Our nation, Australia, is facing some challenging times. The weaknesses and shortcomings of its government have left many feeling uncertain and confused. But as Pentecostal Apostolic Pastors, we serve a God who is sovereign over all things, including our government. He has not abandoned Australia; instead, He is using this season to reveal the hearts of men and women and remind us, His Church, of our divine mandate. We are called to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16), but in a world divided by politics and ideologies, it's easy for us to feel overwhelmed. However, we must remember that our role is not merely to conform to the world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). We are called to speak truth to power, to expose injustice, and to offer hope and solutions rooted in God's Word. The Church must rise above the fray, remaining steadfast in its convictions while demonstrating compassion and kindness towards all people. To fulfil our calling as salt and light, we must be rooted in the Word and filled with the Spirit. We must dedicate ourselves to a life of prayer, seeking God's face diligently and asking for His guidance and wisdom. We must immerse ourselves in the Word, allowing it to shape our thoughts, attitudes, and actions. And we must be empowered by the Holy Spirit, who will equip us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17). As the Church stands up and leads, we must remember that love is our ultimate weapon. We are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39). In a world divided by politics and ideologies, let us be the ones who demonstrate the power of unconditional love. Let us extend grace, forgiveness, and compassion to all people, regardless of their political affiliations or beliefs. In conclusion, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, let us not lament the weaknesses of our government but see it as an opportunity for the Church to shine brighter than ever before. Let us rise up, stand firm, and lead with love, wisdom, and power. Let us pray fervently, seek God's face diligently, and immerse ourselves in His Word. And let us extend grace, forgiveness, and compassion to all people, reflecting the love of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Thank you for joining me today. I pray that this message encourages you to stand strong in your faith, and to be a beacon of hope and a testament to God's faithfulness, love, and power.
