Here I share:* some of my past failures/challenges,* how a mindset shift on failure changes the way you approach goal setting, * reminders of how God cares about your desires for change and, * how navigating what you want and need guides your journey towards change. Hey there fruitful garden, This episode begins a series on implementing change/growth within our lives. There are a lot of beliefs that we hold onto that keep this from happening. S2 Episode 3 Why Rest Feels Offensive

Hey there fruitful garden! In this episode, I share my personal experience on how I was caught up so deeply in hustle culture, that I could not see that I was in deep need of rest. Our survival techniques become second nature if we are not taking time to pay attention to what we need on a daily basis. This podcast is meant to encourage you to be mindful of what you need and take steps to promote the safety and rest that you need to be fruitful. Here I process:* how the creation story is a lens to see the necessity of rest, * pinpointing the ways our nervous system responds and remains stuck in trauma,* identifying where the source of survival began in my life & * addressing the barriers that keep us from feeling worthy of rest. Stay tuned to the end of this episode for some affirmations and a biblical example of how we can get lost in surviving and not resting. S2 Episode 2: Authenticity - The Path to Joy

Hey there fruitful garden! In this episode, I tell the story about how my relationship with God led me to seminary and later to switch vocations. There are moments in life where we decide who we should be, based on what we have already been exposed to - when who you really are can only be discovered by honoring the voice within. If you have been feeling like a hamster on a wheel going through the motions, you’ll appreciate this one! Here I process:* how listening to people tell me what ministry looked like eventually failed and redirected me instead,* embracing our authentic dreams, needs and desires is key to identity formation &,* addressing the barriers that keep us from experiencing joy.Stay tuned to the end of this episode for bi-weekly affirmations.Services from Rested & Rooted IRL Podcast* Monthly Virtual Bible Study - Demystifying Immanuel - God with Us (Accessing God’s Presence)* Join the Resting in Love Challenge (Weekly (3) Audio Meditations for the Month of February)* Gift Paid Membership (Exclusive Podcasts & Weekly Breathing Meditations)* Connect with me IRL on Instagram: newlyrootedplant* Youtube Channel - (With Faith Based Mental Health Vlogs & Bible Studies)Subscribe to free newsletter for additional letters of encouragement, playlists, and devotionals tailored to a Christ-Centered healing journey. Biblical Meditation: Seeing God as a Good Parent

Fruitful Garden, We are at the halfway mark of the “Resting in Love” Challenge. The intent of this meditation is to help you invite peace, rest, and calm into your present. Commanding the chaos in your life to know it is not in charge of you or your destiny. Today’s meditation is focusing on the story of the perspective of the prodigal son, his brother and his father (Luke 15). In this meditation, I invite you to see yourself through this story, whether you are struggling to realize how deeply God loves you or if you can’t seem to shake the idea that working hard is the only way to earn love. This is for you! I hope that through my reflections within this story, you will find that you belong to the King of Kings and He deeply wants to be close to you. All you have to do is let your guard down enough, stop strategizing and give him a chance to show you His love. His love is soft, safe, warm, and gentle. No matter where you find yourself, His acceptance of you is never negotiable. His love and acceptance can become your confidence that you seek for life. May this be your focus in times of struggle. May His love be all that you see - even if life tries to tell you otherwise. You are deeply and fully loved. S2 - Episode 1 - Resting in Love

Hey there fruitful garden! In this episode, I address how our bodies and our minds become disembodied. Disembodiment is the disconnection that our souls suffer from not being in tune (mind, body, & spirit). There is an internal war that happens to us when trauma occurs to us. Accepting truth and honesty with ourselves and others causes us to begin the healing journey. This month, our community is making space 3 days away week to be still and receive God’s love through his word in our guided meditations. You can access these by becoming a paid subscriber. Here I process:* how hiding yourself keeps you from receiving love,* dismissal and bypassing our experiences only causes us to remain stuck &, * addressing the barriers that keep us from receiving the love of God. Stay tuned to the end of this episode for some journal prompts and affirmations for this journey of resting in love. Episode 10: The Power of Living in Confession

Hey there fruitful garden! In this episode, I address how perfectionism causes us to live a crippling lifestyle. Our inability to embrace our scars, wounds, and flaws keeps us stagnant and unable to grow. If we would like to experience transformation we have to accept our present first. Here I process:* how hiding yourself keeps you from the life you want* misaligned self confidence can keep you self-guarding and not living * biblical understanding on how God wants us to tell ourselves the truth about who we really are - in exchanging defeat for victory. Hey there fruitful garden! In this episode, you will hear how God addressed codependency, emotional bypassing, and self neglect that occurred in my life. This episode provides you with the perspective on how to see those who have caused rejection and abandonment wounds. Here I process:* how to see the darkness in the world, * how the Bible does not support self denial but instead denial of the flesh (resisting the will of God) and, * biblical understanding on how God wants us to love ourselves.
