  1. With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility

Spider-Man’s supernatural powers (thanks, to a radioactive spider bite), needed to be used responsibly. The Holy Spirit gives us supernatural power in many ways to serve God and others. How responsibly are we using that power?

  2. So, You’re Telling Me There’s A Chance

Hope is an amazing thing. Even when the odds are stacked against us, one slim chance can bring us hope–along with the possibility of disappointment. But our hope in life isn’t in a long shot; it’s in Christ, who never disappoints.

  3. Houston, We Have a Problem

We tell ourselves we are OK, not that bad, better than others, doing all we can, i.e. we’re “all good”. But there’s a problem: we’re also all sinners in need of God’s grace. Fortunately, there’s an easy way to get it.

  4. You Can't Handle the Truth

The truth is hard to come by. We have AI fakes, deceptions, scams, and countless lies. It seems no one thinks we can handle the truth. But Jesus knows we can. In fact, he is the truth.

  5. There's No Place Like Home

“Home” means different things to different people, and usually it’s something good. But, despite its perks, the bible tells us that we are just passing through this world. Our true home will be with God.

  6. The Life's Answer

It’s possible to know a lot about God without really knowing God. Turns out, we need an advocate. That would be Jesus, and therein lies the answer on to how to experience life to its fullest.

  7. Depreciating the Life

The difference between “biblical sin” and our current notion of sin may lead us to a more helpful understanding of it—one that helps us better understand God’s heart and how sin affects our lives.

  8. The Light of Life

What does it mean to say that ‘God is light’? And what are the implications of this statement for illuminating what it means as we desire to live the life God has for us?

  9. The Word of Life

Lots of things pull at us, telling us that this is the life—success, popularity, power. Yet they can be gone in a flash. Only by resting in the truth of God’s perfect love engulfing us can we find real life.

  10. Overheated Lives

There are times in our lives when we are burning the candle at both ends. When we feel exhausted or burned out. Do we blame jobs, kids, spouse, society, sports, social media, or…? It doesn’t really matter. What does is that the body, mind, and spirit need rest to survive and thrive. And God...

  11. Heated Politics

How do you respond when political debate gets heated and you’re tempted to treat someone as less than a human, label them by their politics, and thus justify your anger and your un-Christlike response?

  12. Hot Relationships

Nothing "steamy" here (besides the weather). No, we're talking about "heated"—as in heated arguments. How do we "bring down the temperature" when we find ourselves upset or angry with others?

  13. Like Seeds of Wheat

We wrap up our gardening series with the resurrection. It’s like seeds of wheat that are buried, then they come to life looking completely different than the seed that was originally planted. And they grow forever.

  14. Harvest Time

Like Minnesota sweet corn that must mature before it's ready for harvest, our faith, when nourished, can grow until we become not just part of God's harvest, but also His harvesters.

  15. Semiquincentennial

July 4 is our country’s 250th anniversary of Independence Day. Due to recent events, many were not sure about how (or if) they’d celebrate it. It’s a good time to remember that God is still in control.

  16. See the Flowers

You may be familiar with the phrase, “Stop and smell the roses,” but do you ever consider how they came to bloom, or why flowers appear each spring? All around us, God provides the growth.

  17. Add Some Manure

It would be easy to pre-judge this message and say it stinks, but then you’d be missing out on its relevance for growth as a Christian (hint: think fertilizer).

  18. VBS 2026 Recap

This past week, over 50 kids attended VBS each day at Resurrection from 9a to noon to explore the nature of God and have fun. Wondering what you missed? You’re about to find out.

  19. Tiny Faith is Huge

The examples of our “little faith” in the Bible all share a common thread: they don’t stop Jesus from working. Because what matters most is not the size of our faith, but the size of our God.

  20. Be Wise

We recognize our high school senior graduates, sharing some gleaned biblical wisdom that applies to all of us. It’s sage advice for living a good and fulfilling life today, and in the years ahead.

  21. Connected to Jesus

Pruning, i.e. removing dead or unusable growth, is how orchardists help fruit trees to produce more. God uses that same method to produce more spiritual fruit in our lives, maintained by staying connected with Jesus.

  22. Plant A Lot

One way to increase the harvest is through square-foot gardening, i.e., using raised beds. Another is to plant more than once a year. The same applies to generosity: plant a lot, and do it more than once. Learn why that works.

  23. Loving Mothers and Others

It’s Mother’s Day this Sunday, but don’t expect a message about a mother’s love or about loving our own mothers. Instead, we focus on loving our mothers-in-law and on a farming/gardening practice called gleaning.

  24. When Gardening Was Easy

Gardening/farming all began in the garden (of Eden), making it the first (and oldest) profession. It was easy and good. Then sin entered the picture. The result? Now gardening/farming is a lot of hard work.

  25. Garden Basics

Jesus tells a parable about planting, and the disciples are like, “Huh?” So Jesus explains it: Good seeds + good soil = good growth, and an abundant harvest.

  26. Why Not? (part 2)

Once you’ve seen all that Jesus is and does for us, perhaps the question to answer is not, “Why should I follow Jesus?” but instead, “Why not? Why not believe? Why not follow Jesus?”

  27. Why Not? (part 1)

Once you’ve seen all that Jesus is and does for us, perhaps the question to answer is not, “Why should I follow Jesus?” but instead, “Why not? Why not believe? Why not follow Jesus?”

  28. A Friend: Keeps Their Promises

If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, as promised, then he can’t keep a single other promise. But he did keep that promise. We are called to do the same. That’s what friends do. What a friend we have in Jesus!

  29. A Friend: Would Die for You…(?)

Do you know a friend who would literally die for you, even if you treated them poorly? Jesus would, because that’s what he did. He’s the friend we have in Jesus! Is there anyone you would die for?

  30. A Friend: Shares & Listens

A friend shares their deepest thoughts and feelings, and listens as you share yours. Jesus is such a friend and holds nothing back. We are called to do the same. Because that’s what friends do.

  31. A Friend: Prays for You

The best friends are the ones who are always interceding for you and praying for all the aspects of your life. Because that’s what friends do. And that’s what Jesus does for his friends, i.e. all of us.

  32. A Friend: Is Honest with You

Jesus is kind and loving, but he is also honest. He has the hard conversations and speaks the truth in love. We are called to do the same. Because that’s what friends do.

  33. A Friend: Stands Up for You

On multiple occasions, Jesus stands up for someone who is criticized, pushed aside, or told to shut up. And we’re called to do the same. Because that’s what friends do.

  34. A Friend: Helps

While the disciples knew Jesus intimately, the average person observing him knew one thing: he indiscriminately helps people. Because that’s what friends do. And we’re called to do the same.

  35. God Helps Those Who Help Themselves

Is everything determined by our own efforts? Nope, and that’s a good thing because “all have sinned and fallen short.” Instead, God helps the helpless and those who help others.

  36. To Thine Own Self Be True

How do we strive to be true to God instead of ourselves? This can easily be boiled down to a matter of pride. And what’s the opposite of pride? Humility…something Jesus demonstrated time and again

  37. Everything Happens for a Reason

"Everything Happens for a Reason" is a wonderful lie embraced by many. Sometimes the reason something happens is because of the choices we make, or simply not paying attention to what’s happening around us. Don’t overthink it.

  38. God Never Gives You More Than You Can Handle

Live long enough or study history and you know that’s not true. Sometimes there is suffering and pain in life that we can’t handle ourselves. But God can. His power is made perfect in our weakness.

  39. God Needed Another Angel

What really happens after we die? Well, we don’t become angels. Better yet, the bible promises that Christians are with the Lord in God’s house, every tear is dried, and there is joyful worship of God. Nice!

  40. An Eye for an Eye

The message title is biblical, but was meant to limit retaliation – i.e., only an eye for an eye. But Jesus says no retaliation. Love your enemies just as God loves all, with unrelenting compassion and undeserving grace.

  41. The Colors of Christmas: Gold

Gold is for the Magi’s gift and also for God’s glory. Will we offer God the best that we have this new year? Will we give God the Glory?

  42. The Colors of Christmas: Silver

Silver is for reflecting Christ, as in a mirror. It’s also represents the 30 pieces of silver Judas took to betray Jesus. So in this coming year, will we reflect Christ or betray him?

  43. The Colors of Christmas: White

White is for light and renewal. Like freshly fallen snow, it’s a clean slate, a new beginning. Jesus is the light of the world. Everything is brighter after his birth. Even us. We are given a fresh start.

  44. The Colors of Christmas: Blue

Blue is the color of the Virgin Mary. She brought a new way of connecting (a new covenant) to God – Jesus. Mary also reminds us of the sorrow that we may face, even in happy times. Learn why there’s hope in the midst of Christmas blues.

  45. The Colors of Christmas: Red

There are familiar reds at Christmastime: Santa’s coat, Rudolph’s nose, and poinsettias. But none of these qualify red as the color of Christmas.

  46. The Colors of Christmas: Green

Green is the color of life. Evergreens (Christmas tree, wreaths, and garlands) symbolize everlasting life as they stay green all year round. In winter, when all the world looks dead, the green evergreens remind us of life – life that Jesus the Messiah brings.

  47. The Colors of Christmas: Purple

Why do we associate certain colors with Christmastime (red and green, silver and gold, blue, white, and purple)? Besides just looking great on decorations, each color has a meaning that points to a crucial part of the Messiah’s birth story. Like the color purple, which stands for royalty. Find…

  48. The 12 Days of Thanksgiving

James 1:17 says that all good and perfect gifts come from God, so it’s appropriate to count our blessings and give God thanks. The “12 Days of Thanksgiving” song is a good way to remember to do this. Never heard of it? That’s because it’s brand new.

  49. We Believe in the Holy Spirit

We wrap up our study of the Nicene Creed, looking at the section that tells us about the Holy Spirit, and how it helped guide the teaching of the truth of Jesus.

  50. We Believe in Jesus Christ

In 2025, we celebrate 1,700 years since church leaders first gathered to form the Nicene Creed. In part 2 of our message series, we discuss what it tells us about the nature of Jesus, and why it is so important to our faith.
