Rev. Sally Evans is a minister, trainer, audio artist, and program designer who grew up in the woods of New York State. Rabbi Matt is a graduate of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, where he received his Master of Arts in Hebrew Letters in 2021, followed by Rabbinic Ordination in 2023. He received a Master of Divinity from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2017, where he focused on Hebrew Bible and biblical languages. He joined the underground Louisville music scene by forming his metal band, Motel, which has headlined some of the best venues in Louisville. Ashton’s heart is driven to speak out against injustice through his music, particularly as the beloved drummer for the worship band at RBC. After teaching political science at a University level for decades, Gary moved from teaching and talking big, systemic issues – to making a difference to one person at a time (to be fair, he made individual impacts on his students, too!). There are big problems to solve, and there are little problems to solve. Either way, the desire to want to help and effect change, large scale or small scale, is something holy – it’s hope. *We recorded this episode with Gary a very short time before he and his wife Lisa tragically lost their daughter, Ripley.
