  1. Jeremiah

God says: the old arrangement isn't working. So he's going to do something so radical it will be written on the human heart, not on stone. The new covenant promise. God doesn't abandon the mission when humans fail — he upgrades the method. The design will be internalized, not just imposed.

  2. Lamentations

The city is rubble. The temple is gone. And in the wreckage, someone writes: "His mercies are new every morning." This isn't optimism — it's defiance in the dark. Even when the mission seems completely lost, the connection to God persists.

  3. Isaiah

God tells his servant: "It's too small a thing to only restore Israel. I'm making you a light to the entire world." Perhaps the single greatest missio Dei text in the OT. God explicitly expands the mission from one people to all peoples. Isaiah's one appearance in the series — and it's this.

  4. Ecclesiates

Everything under the sun feels meaningless — and yet something in us keeps searching for more. What if that restlessness is a clue? The tension of Ecclesiastes IS the sermon. 3:11 ("he has set eternity in the human heart") is the missio Dei thread: the ache for meaning is evidence of the design.

  5. Psalms - Praise

"May all the peoples praise you, God — may all the peoples praise you." Worship was never supposed to be private. Micah 6:8 Ps 67 is explicitly missional: God blesses his people so that the whole earth might know him. Worship is the design going public.

  6. Psalms - Lament

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" The prayer Jesus cried from the cross started here — in a song about feeling completely abandoned. God invites raw, unfiltered honesty. The design includes space for grief. Ps 22 has immediate Christological resonance — plant that seed here for Holy…

  7. Job (English - Español)

Job demands answers. God responds with a question: "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?" Job is about trusting the designer even when the design makes no sense. 38:1-7 preserves the tension — essential for anyone who has suffered and been told to just trust harder. Job exige...

  8. Esther

What if you're exactly where you are for a reason you can't see yet? Esther's story is about providence and vocation. God's name never appears in the book, but his mission runs through every scene. Speaks to anyone wrestling with purpose — parents, professionals, seekers wondering if their…

  9. Ezra

After exile, one man devotes himself to studying, living, and teaching God's word. Renewal starts small.Ezra models the restoration pattern: reconnecting to God through Scripture, and then drawing others into that reconnection. The mission restarts through one person's faithfulness.

  10. 1 Kings | 1 Chronicles

Solomon prays that foreigners who come to the temple will be heard. The mission was never just for insiders — and Solomon, for all his failures, knew it.Solomon's dedicatory prayer is one of the OT's most explicit missio Dei moments: God's house was meant to be a house for all peoples. 1…

  11. 1 Samuel

Israel demands a king like every other nation. God says: "You're rejecting me." They get their king anyway. The mission nearly derails when God's people want to look like everyone else. 8:4-9 is dramatic and narratively rich — the tension of the entire kingdom experiment begins here.

  12. Judges

The people fail, God sends a rescuer. They fail again, he sends another. Why won't he give up?The cycle-of-judges reveals God's relentless, almost stubborn refusal to abandon the mission. He keeps working through flawed humans — because the working-through is itself the restoration.

  13. Joshua

You can't inherit someone else's faith. At some point, you have to choose for yourself. Speaks to anyone — the skeptic who never believed, the lifelong churchgoer whose faith has been secondhand, the parent wondering if their kids will own this. The design requires a personal yes.

  14. Deuteronomy

Remember what it felt like to have nothing. Now build a society that protects those who have nothing. Micah 6:8 God's people are formed into a justice-practicing community because they were once vulnerable themselves. The experience of being rescued becomes the motivation for rescuing others.

  15. Numbers

God designed his blessing to flow through his people to the world. The question is: will they carry it, or hold it for themselves? The Aaronic blessing reveals God's intent — blessing that moves outward. Pair with the Num 14 failure: when God's people refuse to move, the blessing stalls. Both are...

  16. Exodus

God hears suffering and comes down. He doesn't send a memo — he shows up and calls a man to lead the rescue.God's mission is never remote. He enters the pain, and then draws a reluctant human (Moses) into the work. The rescue restores the rescuer. "Comes down" foreshadows the incarnation.

  17. Genesis Part 2

God's answer to a broken world isn't to start over. It's to choose one family and through them bless every family on earth. The Abrahamic covenant is the launchpad of God's restorative mission. God works through a human to reach all humans — and calling Abraham is itself what reconnects Abraham to...

  18. Genesis Part 1

God's purpose from the beginning was a world where humans thrive in relationship with him. We walked away from that design. The mission starts here: God creates with purpose, and the fracture sets up the need for everything that follows. The design — humans made for God — is the foundation of the...
