Jesus came to show us the Father and to allow us, as sinners, to gain access to God. God loves us so much that He sent His one and only Son to us. Most Christians understand the Gospel intellectually. We know we are not perfect, and we are in need of a Savior. But few Christians actually live in the overwhelming grace and love of God every day. When we do, all fear is gone. We have complete faith and trust in the One who loves us even more than we love ourselves. Jesus’ heart beats for you. Choose faith over fear today because you are loved!

Jesus doesn’t always work according to our expectations, but He is always faithful to God’s plan. When doubts and questions come, bring them to Him and keep your faith rooted in who you are in Christ. Live with an open heart, reflecting Jesus in the way you live, and let His wisdom be evident through your actions.

Today we come to Matthew 10 in our study of the Gospel of Matthew. Up to this point, Jesus has been teaching His disciples the way of the Kingdom of God and doing all the ministry as they watched. Now, He will send them out to put into practice what they have been learning and seeing in Him. Jesus gives them a charge before they go to trust Him and to choose faith over fear in every situation. Just like the disciples back then, Jesus sends us out into the world today. We are called to choose faith over fear as we live out our faith and share Jesus with others. 

In Matthew 9, we truly see Jesus’ heart. We have heard Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 5-7, seen His miracles in Matthew 8, and now we see His heart. Jesus’ heart is filled with love and compassion. Jesus loves all people. He invites everyone to follow Him. Regardless of your religious background or the mistakes in your life. Jesus invites us on the journey of a lifetime. And, in the process, we grow to become like Him - people of love and compassion. Are you growing spiritually? And are you sharing your faith story with others? Choose faith over fear.

Jesus invites us to follow Him. But following Jesus doesn’t mean life will always be easy. Even as Christians, we go through storms. Some storms are small - a worry, a fear - a passing moment, but other storms are big - relationships, sickness - a longer battle to fight. But we must never forget that Jesus is in the storm with us. Jesus is greater than anything we will ever face, and Jesus is Lord over all. It is in the storms where our faith grows the most. Therefore, will you put your eyes on Jesus and not simply on the storms? Let’s choose faith over fear today.

God calls us to live with faith over fear. Yet, we live in a world of fear. We are bombarded every day with worries, doubts and fears. And, every day we must decide if we are going to live with faith or fear. When we bring our fears to Jesus, He hears our heart and answers our prayers. And, when He does, we are called to respond with worship, gratitude and service. What fears do you have today? Fears of the future, fears of failure, fears for your family or friends. Let’s bring all our fears to Jesus and ask Him to grow our faith. He is willing and able today.

Jesus ends His longest sermon with an invitation. A call to those listening to respond. There are disciples and there is the crowd. How will you respond today? Jesus said there is a wide gate that leads to destruction or a narrow gate that leads to life. Will you enter through the narrow gate of Jesus today? Will you enter into an eternal relationship with the One who came to give His life for you? And, will you build your life on the Rock of Christ? How will you respond today?

Jesus invites us to approach God with confidence, continually asking, seeking, and knocking. Prayer is about trusting our good Father, who knows what we need, transforms us through every season, and calls us to share His goodness with others.

Jesus teaches that while we're called to exercise discernment, we're not called to sit in God's seat as judge. Judgment condemns people, while discernment lovingly evaluates actions and seeks restoration. Before pointing out the faults of others, Jesus challenges us to examine our own hearts and recognize our own need for grace. As followers of Christ, our calling is not to condemn but to humbly help others, trusting God to do the work of transformation.

In Matthew 6:19-24, Jesus cuts straight to the heart of where we place our trust. He warns us that earthly treasures are temporary, calls us to fix our eyes on what is eternal, and makes it plain that divided devotion is no devotion at all. Two treasures, two visions, two masters, but only one worthy of everything we have. Jesus alone is the treasure death cannot take, the light darkness cannot overcome, and the Master who never fails. He isn't asking for part of our hearts. He's worthy of all of it.

Jesus teaches us to call God, “Father.” This was unheard of back in that time with Jewish and secular culture. The word Jesus uses is “Abba,” which is translated as “Daddy.” Our God is the perfect Father. He provides, protects, teaches, guides and will always love you. As His child, our desire becomes to live for His approval and to know that He is always with us. When we know God like this, we have a boldness, confidence and trust that changes our lives forever.

Jesus teaches that the Kingdom of Heaven is not simply behavior modification, but heart transformation. Jesus comes to fulfill the Law and to bring us true righteousness through His sacrificial death on the cross. Jesus exposes the motives behind what we do and calls us to perfection. We can never be perfect on our own, but only when we commit our lives to Jesus and allow His righteousness to cover our hearts. Real love then becomes the identifying mark of all Christ-followers. Give your heart fully to Jesus and then live in His love and offer His love to others today.

Jesus calls His followers to be salt and light, preserving what is good, revealing truth, and pointing others to Him. We make the greatest impact when we live out our faith where God has placed us, using our work, relationships, and daily opportunities to serve others. As we reflect Christ and invest in the next generation, our lives shine in a way that helps others see God and glorify Him.

Jesus invites you to live “The Blessed Life.” In a world filled with external pursuits - money, beauty and success, Jesus tells His disciples that true blessing only comes from the inside. It all starts with the recognition of our need for God. Asking Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of our lives and then allowing Him to transform our hearts. As we experience His love and grace, He makes a difference in all our relationships. Jesus allows us to truly live “The Blessed Life.”

Just like Jesus called His first disciples, Jesus calls us to “follow” Him today. Many people settle for religion. The crowds want a little bit of Jesus to add into their life. But Jesus calls us to radical discipleship that transforms our lives. Jesus has a plan and purpose for each one of us. He calls us to leave our “nets” and live by His agenda. And, Jesus’ plan for our life is better than we could ever imagine. Following Jesus is where we see God do miracles! So, are you a “religious” person or are you a “disciple” of Jesus? Come, follow Him, every day.

Baptism is an essential step in one’s spiritual journey. Jesus was baptized as an example for us. And, Jesus was baptized at the beginning of His earthly ministry - not at the end. Baptism is not salvific - meaning, baptism doesn’t save us. We are saved when we put our faith and trust in Jesus’ sacrifice for us on the cross and ask for forgiveness from our sins. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward faith. If you have yet to be baptized, then commit to do this today. If you have been baptized, then remember God’s affirmation over you and live each day in the Spirit. 

God invites us to experience "A Kingdom Life"—a journey that offers total redemption from your past, supernatural power for your today, and an unshakable hope for your future. This life begins with the essential step of repentance, which isn't just a feeling of guilt, but a complete transformation of your heart and purpose. Ultimately, we are called to move beyond outward rituals and embrace the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit, choosing the path of the Kingdom to avoid the emptiness of a life lived apart from Him.

Matthew's Gospel is all about fulfillment. He uses that word more than any other Gospel writer and quotes the Old Testament 54 times, nearly double the others, to make one big point: Jesus is the Messiah Israel was waiting for and the Savior for everyone. He shows this two main ways. First, through prophecies coming true in Jesus. Second, through patterns where people or events in the Old Testament point forward to Him. And don't miss the bookends. Matthew opens (1:23) and closes (28:20) with the same promise, "I am with you always." That's the heart of it. Jesus is with you.

The first chapter of Matthew tells us about Jesus’ genealogy and His birth. Jesus’ birth changed our world forever. The thin veil between Heaven and Earth was pulled back, and God came near. Jesus’ Name literally means, “Salvation.” There is salvation for every person because of the grace we receive in Jesus. We have a personal God who loves us and who is near to us. Immanuel, “God with us.” Regardless of where you are or what you are going through, know that God is with you and He is for you. Jesus is here, and you are loved.

God has a plan for your life. We are all a part of God’s Redemptive Story. God created you and put you here at this time in History. As we embark on this journey through the Gospel of Matthew today, we see how everything in History is leading up to Jesus. Our lives and our stories are transformed in Him. If you do not yet know Jesus, then make today the day that changes your life forever. And, if you are a follower of Jesus, then let’s dive deeper into His Word and pass Him on to generations to come. Let’s leave a legacy for Christ and Christ alone.

It’s Easter! And, our Jesus is alive! King Jesus conquered death and has made a way for us to be forgiven and to experience eternal life. We know Easter is all about what Jesus did for us on the cross and the Resurrection. When we were dead in our sins, Jesus paid our price. Today, will you respond to the death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus by receiving Him in your heart and then following Him with your life? And, if you are already a Christian, then let Easter call you to worship our Risen Savior and to live every day for His glory. He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

King Jesus was crucified on the cross. The Crucifixion of Jesus on the Cross is the defining point of the world and of our lives. The cross is where we see God’s judgment on sin and His grace for us intersect. The cross demands a response. How will you respond to Jesus? Jesus paid the price for your sins. Will you receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and respond to Him today? Jesus paid it all for you on the cross. Let’s worship King Jesus.

Easter is all about Jesus. In our culture, Easter can become about a lot of things - Easter eggs, Easter bunnies, Easter clothes, Easter chocolates and so much more. But, ultimately the real reason we celebrate Easter is because of Jesus. The greatest miracle of all has happened, and we come to worship and celebrate our Savior. Jesus willingly gave His life for us. And, our world and our lives will never be the same. It’s Easter, and Jesus is alive! Let’s worship King Jesus!

Boundaries are God’s way of preparing our character for His calling, but when we resist surrender and treat the holy as casual, we risk losing our way. Yet even in our deepest failures, we are not defined by our lack of strength, but by the redeeming grace of Jesus. Because of the cross, our story doesn’t end where we failed; it begins where He finished.

Through Israel’s battle against Jabin and Sisera, we’re reminded that courageous leadership starts with trusting God’s plan. Some battles are appointed by Him, and before we ever step into them, He is already there. God planned the battle, God secured the victory, and God received the glory. When leaders step up and people respond, God moves powerfully. Living for His glory is both a joy and a relief, because it’s not about us. Will we choose comfort and safety, or lay down our lives for the good of others and the glory of God?

God uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways. Our struggle is that we drift from God. We fall in love with the things of this world, and we forget the goodness, grace and blessings of our God. These are the times that we must repent - cry to God - and He will save us. Our strength is not in ourselves, but in the Spirit of the Lord. He alone is the One who can bring peace in our hearts and in our surroundings. Our world desperately needs godly courageous leaders today - will you be the one? Will you lead others to Jesus, the Prince of Peace? This is your time.

Emotional health is learning to live with a Spirit-guarded heart, where emotions are understood as information, not instructions. We cannot stop emotions from coming, but in Christ, we can choose how we respond to them in ways that protect both our hearts and the people downstream from us. Through the Spirit, we practice emotional regulation by pausing to create space, processing what we feel with truth and wisdom, and proceeding with a faithful, Spirit-led response. God meets us in this work, not to shame us for our emotions, but to lead us toward a life that is fully healthy and fully alive.

God created us for relationships. Our God is a relational God, and He created us to be in right relationship with Him and with others. However, there is the problem of sin. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Sin impacts our relationship with God and with others (hurt people hurt people). But there is grace. Praise God for grace! Jesus came to die for our sins and to allow us, by the grace of God, to be restored in our relationship with God. Therefore, we should offer grace to one another. We are called to love others as God first loved us. So, how are you growing in your relationship with God and socially with others? Let’s grow in love.

Everyone faces battles in their mind. Loving Jesus doesn’t mean you won’t struggle with mental health. Faith and struggle can exist together. God calls us to renew our minds, stop carrying burdens alone, and come to Jesus for rest.

Jesus wants you to live your best life!. Jesus came so that you might have life and have it to the full (John 10:10). In order to live fully healthy, it all starts with your spiritual health. Your relationship with God impacts everything else in your life - your mental and emotional health, your present and your future, your parents and your children, your marriage or future marriage - every aspect of your life is impacted by your spiritual health. Let’s dive deep into our relationship with God and have 2026 be your best year yet! Live fully healthy!

Our church family invites you to an evening of joy, reflection, and awe as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This special service offers a moment to step away from the holiday rush and experience peace, hope, and worship as we remember the incredible truth that God came to us as a child, bringing light to our world. Through teaching, prayer, Christmas carols, and family-friendly moments, we’ll reflect on Christ’s love and redemption and celebrate together as a church family.

The magi, Gentile seekers from the east, remind us that God draws people from every background to Himself. As they searched for the newborn King, they discovered that human wisdom can lead us to the wrong places, but God’s guidance never fails. When they finally encountered Him, their worship overflowed as they offered gold for His position, frankincense for His priesthood, and myrrh for His purpose. Their journey invites us to seek Jesus wholeheartedly and respond with worship when we find Him.

The Christmas tree is a beautiful Christmas Tradition. The Christmas tree was not a pagan symbol; in fact, it has been used by Christians throughout the centuries to remind and celebrate the gift of Christ Jesus. Trees are an important part of God’s Redemptive Story. God planted the first tree (The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil), then Jesus died on a tree (The Cross) to atone for our sins and finally all of history to culminate in the presence of a tree (The Tree of Life). This Christmas, let your tree tell God’s story and your story of redemption, grace and love. This Christmas, let’s celebrate Jesus and the Gift God has given us all in His birth and then death on a tree for you.

Before the turkey, the family, the friends, the football and the fun, let’s truly take time to enter His courts with Thanksgiving. This coming week, take some time to truly be thankful. Carve out time with the Lord each day in prayer, reading His Word and journaling your blessings. Express your gratitude to your family and friends. Let them all know how thankful you are for each of them. And, live out your Story of Thanksgiving this week. Let’s pray this is our best Thanksgiving yet.

There is such joy in Thanks and Giving. This is where we have the opportunity and privilege to grow in our relationship with Jesus as we thank God for what He has done in our lives and as we invest in His Kingdom. For followers of Jesus, Thanksgiving is not just one day, but every day of our lives. Our call is to invest in what is eternal. May we be found faithful in building God’s church and raising up the next generation in Christ. Let’s be generous and make a significant impact for the glory of our great God. We have been blessed not simply for ourselves, but to be a blessing. Let’s invest together as we build God’s Kingdom today. This is our time.

This is the Thanksgiving Season. Thanks and Giving are dear to the heart of God. All of us have so much for which to be thankful for in our lives - first and foremost is salvation in Jesus Christ. We are truly loved, redeemed and restored. Then, out of an overflow of gratitude, we want to give. We are most like God when we give. As a church, we have the opportunity to give God thanks for what He has done and to invest in building His Church to impact others. This is truly our time to live out our Thanks and Giving. Let’s invest generously in what God will do NEXT.

Revival is not over; Revival has just begun. Come, Holy Spirit! Our God is moving in a powerful way in our lives, His Church, our nation and world today. For all of us, the time has come to live in revival. To learn to live by the power and Presence of the Holy Spirit in you. When you accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, God places His Spirit in you. Now, we are called to live in the Spirit every day. To learn to hear His voice and then be obedient to what He calls us to. This is where the joy and the fruit is in the Christian life. Now is our time to grow in Christ. Revival is here!

The power of God is not found in our own attributes—it comes from the Holy Spirit. What’s in us is not enough, but who is in us is more than we will ever need. The Spirit empowers believers not only to speak of Jesus but to become more like Him, transforming observers into witnesses and consumers into participants. When the Spirit moves, the gospel does not sit still—it reaches from our neighborhoods to the ends of the earth. True power is not found in striving but in abiding, as we ask daily, listen intentionally, and step out boldly in faith.

Our God is a God of joy. God wants us to experience His joy and peace in this world. True joy only comes as we give everything to Him - all our worries, fears and concerns we lay at the foot of the cross, and know our God is Sovereign over it all. The result is a peace that passes understanding. True contentment comes in Christ and Christ alone. Will you choose joy today? Think about all Jesus has done for you and know that He will never let you go. You are forever His - your eternity is secure, your sins are forgiven, so let’s choose joy today.

What matters most in your life? In Philippians 3, Paul reminds us that true joy isn’t found in achievements, comparisons, or “good Christian” behavior — it’s found in Christ alone. We are called to rejoice in the Lord with a joy that defies circumstances. Paul warns against empty confidence, built on résumés, activity, or self-comparison. Instead, he points us to the greatest treasure: knowing Christ. Life with God isn’t about what we get from Him or do for Him — it’s about being with Him. When we slow down, tune in, ask honestly, and yield to His Spirit, we discover the deep, lasting joy that comes only from treasuring Christ above all.

The apostle Paul wrote the book of Philippians from - of all places - prison. He was in prison for being a Christ-follower. Yet, the entire book of Philippians is all about Joy. Paul wrote to the church in Philippi - a church he planted in Acts 16 - and the church had always supported him. Nineteen times, Paul uses the word “joy” in these four chapters. Paul did not plan to be in prison, but He trusted in God and exuded faith in the challenges. Because of Paul’s obedience to Christ, countless people were impacted for eternity. Life will not always go as planned for any of us, and we will all have decisions to make about how we respond - Choose Joy.

God’s vision for your life is to know Jesus personally, to be a part of His Church and to live in the Spirit. This is where we experience the full life God desires for us. We are God’s Church today. God has a vision for us to be devoted disciples. Our God is doing something truly special at Rolling Hills. This is our time to be His devoted disciples reaching out, growing up and giving all for His glory. What if the greatest era of God’s Church is not behind us but ahead of us? Let’s not miss it. Let’s live out God’s vision for our lives and for His Church today.

God is building a legacy through you—right where you are. Like Paul in Acts 28, you’re called to boldly live out the Kingdom of God in your everyday life. The Kingdom moves through your words, your actions, and your obedience. Your next chapter could be your most impactful one. Step into your Kingdom legacy today.

Boldness doesn’t come from personality — it comes from knowing Jesus deeply. Like Paul in Acts 26, we become bold when the gospel becomes personal. Real boldness starts in private with God, and overflows into how we pray, serve, and share hope with others. Who in your life is waiting for you to boldly share Christ?

Paul got it and lived it! And, I pray we will as well. Paul’s life was transformed by Jesus. Paul knew he was a servant of Jesus, and he lived his life on God’s agenda. Paul learned to listen to the Holy Spirit. When God prompted his heart, Paul responded. Paul built God’s Church and invited people to be a part of God’s greater story. Paul knew God was always with him. Even in the hardest times, Paul knew a miracle could happen. Will you live as a servant of Jesus? Will you praise in the darkness and invest your life in building God’s Church for His glory? This is our time. Let’s learn to listen to the Holy Spirit and to live as God’s people today.

God transformed Paul’s life through Jesus. Paul was angry, bitter, and a murdering man, even though he was religious. But when Paul met Jesus on that road to Damascus, his life was radically changed forever. Paul didn’t simply accept Christ and then live his own way, but he passionately grew in his relationship with Christ. Paul spent 14 years studying God’s Word and growing in Christ. God was preparing Paul for what God would do through him. God’s preparing you, so let’s grow in Christ. Now is our time to live our lives fully for the glory of our great God.

The conversion of Saul to Christianity is one of the defining moments in the history of the world. God transformed his life, and God wants to transform every one of us. Saul was the last person anyone ever thought would convert to Christianity. Never give up on people. Our God works miracles. Once Saul (Paul) was saved, he was baptized and became a servant of Jesus. There comes a point for every one of us where we have to make a decision about Jesus. Once we are saved, we want to be baptized and be a servant of Jesus. This is the greatest life ever! God filled Paul with the Holy Spirit and used him to impact the world. Will you trust God today?

Saul was a Jewish religious leader whose life was radically changed by Jesus. Saul grew up attending the synagogue. He was trained in the Old Testament. He was a Pharisee and a leader of the Jewish people. He even persecuted the Church of Jesus. You can be religious and not be a follower of Jesus. There are many religious people today. Have you ever fully committed your life to Jesus and become His disciple? Saul does, and his life is radically changed. His name is changed to Paul, and he goes on to become the “Apostle to the Gentiles.” God saves him spiritually and then uses his life to impact the world. Now is your time. Will you respond to Jesus today and live your life fully for Him? Let’s live as disciples of Jesus.

Time is precious. God has given us life. We were born for a reason and a purpose. We often complain that we don’t have enough time. It is really not about time, but about priorities. Therefore, we must prioritize the time God has given us and live each moment for Him. To know  God is Sovereign over this world and over our lives. May we learn to understand how precious our time is so that we gain a heart of wisdom. Wisdom to live each moment for the glory of God.
