Ep 41 // Led by the Spirit, Free from the Flesh // Deb, Lori and Laura

What does it mean to walk by the Spirit? In this episode, we look at the promise given in Galatians 5—that when we walk by the Spirit, we will not carry out the desires of the flesh. This isn’t about behavior management or trying harder. It’s about living led by Him.As we walk with the Spirit, He produces the fruit. He transforms our desires. And He leads us into a life marked by freedom and fullness in Him.This conversation brings us back to one simple truth: desire Him, walk with Him, and trust what He will do.

Ep 40 // A Matter of Life and Breath // Session 4: The Love of God

This episode is the fourth and final session from the A Matter of Life and Breath series , where we’ve been walking through Galatians 2:20—what it means to be crucified with Christ and to now live by faith in the Son of God.This conversation begins in an honest place: forgiveness. In light of the love of God, we often have to confront the ways unforgiveness has taken root in our hearts. Deb shares personally about the weight of unforgiveness, how it leads to bitterness, and how it subtly distorts our ability to believe the truth about who God is.Through repentance and renewal, we’re invited into alignment with what is true—that God’s love is not conditional, distant, or fragile… but constant, personal, and already given. As the conversation unfolds, we return to the anchor of Galatians 2:20: that we are loved, and that Jesus gave Himself for us.This is more than a concept—it’s a reality we’re invited to live from. This episode is a call into deeper discipleship, into living by faith, and into the freedom that comes from being fully known and fully loved by God.

Ep 39 // A Matter of Life and Breath // Session 3: The Life We Now Live

In this third session of A Matter of Life and Breath, recorded live at a women’s gathering, we center our conversation on a powerful phrase from Galatians 2:20:“The life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God…”What does it actually look like to live this way?Together, we explore the invitation to live right here in our everyday lives by faith in Jesus—not striving to become something, but living from what is already true in Him.This conversation gently brings us back to reality:Faith isn’t something we add to our life—it’s the very way we live nowThe unseen life in Christ is more real than anything we experience naturallyWe are not the source of goodness—He is, and His life in us is enoughThrough Scripture, personal testimony, and honest reflection, this episode is an invitation to rest in what is already finished… and to live from the life of Christ within you.And at the very end, you’ll hear a brand new song written out of this very revelation—that the goodness of God isn’t just something we receive… it becomes our good.

Ep 38 // A Matter of Life and Breath // Session 2: Christ in Me — The Power of the Gospel Life

In this episode of Rooted and Woven, we’re continuing from last week’s session from the women’s event, where Deb spoke. In session one, we talked about what it means to be crucified with Christ… and now we’re stepping into the next part: “it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”This conversation really centers on what that actually looks like in real life. Not just as an idea we agree with, but as something we live from.We talk a lot about dependence on Jesus—how easy it is to slip back into striving, and how freeing it is to remember that we were never meant to be the source of our own life. There’s a letting go here… and also a deeper kind of living. You’ll hear us talk through things like:what it means to walk in humility instead of self-effortbeing raised with Christ into a completely new kind of lifehow the cross and resurrection really shape everythingnoticing God at work in both the big, miraculous moments and the everyday onesliving as a new creation right now, not somedaystepping out of performance and back into gracewhat it looks like to die to self in the middle of normal lifeand what it means that Christ Himself is actually living in usMore than anything, this episode is an invitation. An invitation to stop striving… and to rest in the reality that Jesus is your life—and He’s faithful to live through you.

Ep 37 // A Matter of Life and Breath // Session 1: I Have Been Crucified with Christ

This episode was recorded live at a women’s gathering, where we spent the weekend slowing down and anchoring ourselves in one powerful verse: Galatians 2:20.In this first session, Deb gently invites us to focus on the opening phrase: “I have been crucified with Christ.” Together, we explore what this foundational truth really means—and why it changes everything.Through biblical teaching, historical context from the Apostle Paul’s letters, and testimony of God's work, this session unpacks the significance of the finished work of Christ and the new life we’ve been brought into through Him. It addresses the tension between performance-based Christianity and the spiritual reality of being fully united with Christ. As we look closely at this first statement, we begin to see that our identity is no longer something we strive to build—but something we’ve already been given. This is where freedom begins. This is where striving ends. This is where we believe God for who we are.Whether you’re feeling weary from trying to “get it right” or simply longing to go deeper in your faith, this conversation is an invitation to rest in what is already finished—and to live from what is already true.

Ep 36 // When the Whole Gospel Shapes Parenting: A Table Conversation // Deb, Caffe, Stephanie and Lori

What happens when we begin to parent from the whole gospel instead of a partial one?In this episode, Deb, Caffe, Lori, and Stephanie talk about how our understanding of the gospel shapes every area of life—from marriage and relationships to the way we raise our children.A partial gospel can leave parents feeling like everything depends on them: managing behavior, suppressing struggles, and trying to raise children who reflect a “good Christian life.” The pressure can be overwhelming. But the whole gospel tells a different story.Jesus is not only our Savior—He is our Lord, and He is actively transforming us from the inside out. When we begin to live from the security of belonging to Him, parenting begins to change. The pressure to perform fades, the myth of balance loosens its grip, and we begin to rest in the work Christ is doing. And the promise of the gospel doesn’t stop with us—God is at work in our children as well. This conversation invites parents to move from striving to trust and to discover the freedom of parenting from the rest we have in Christ.

Ep 35 // Anchored Above: Seated in Heavenly Places // Deb + Laura

In this episode of Rooted & Woven, Laura and Deb return to a powerful analogy Deb first shared years ago — the “above and the below.”Together, they unpack what it means that the most real thing about us is not what is happening in the visible, temporal realm, but what is true in the unseen, spiritual realm — the “above.” Scripture tells us that we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus right now. That reality is not symbolic. It is not aspirational. It is present and unchanging. The “below” is what we see and feel — circumstances, emotions, disappointments, successes, relationships, struggles. It is the temple realm of earth. But nothing that happens below can alter who we are above. This conversation gently lifts our gaze. It reminds us that our identity is secure, our position is fixed, and our union with Christ is untouched by the shifting ground beneath our feet.If you’ve been feeling shaken by what is happening around you, this episode is an invitation to anchor yourself in what is eternally true.

Ep 34 // Entering His Rest // Deb and Caffe

In this tender and Spirit-led conversation, Deb and Caffe begin in Hebrews 4 and follow the thread of God’s promised rest from Old Testament to the New Testament. What unfolds is more than a discussion about Sabbath or slowing down — it’s a revelation of the abiding rest available to us in Christ.Together, they explore what it means to cease from striving, to stop living from performance, and to trust the finished work of Jesus. It’s an active abiding — a settled confidence in who He is and what He has accomplished. There remains a rest for the people of God. The question is not whether it exists — but whether we will enter it.If you’ve been weary, striving, or carrying more than the Lord ever asked you to hold, this conversation is an invitation: Come. Abide. Rest.

Ep 33 // Dying to Live: Losing Our Lives to Find Them In Christ // A Table Conversation With Caffe, Teresa and Laura

This table conversation did not unfold the way we originally planned — and we’re so grateful it didn’t.What began as a scheduled gathering with Deb, Lori, and several of us girls shifted unexpectedly into a smaller conversation with just Laura, Caffe, and Teresa. Without the familiar voices that often help guide these discussions, we felt stretched. But what we experienced instead was the steady, familiar presence of the Lord carrying us.We began by reflecting on the profound impact Deb and Lori have had in our lives — how they have faithfully spoken the truth of God’s Word into our circumstances and reminded us of our identity in Christ when we were tempted to believe otherwise. As we talked, it became clear that the seeds they have sown were bearing fruit in real time. Our conversation moved into what it truly means to die to ourselves and take up our cross — not as a heavy burden, but as the doorway into real life. We explored the beauty of transformation through the image of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. In Christ, we don’t simply become improved versions of ourselves; we are made new. The old ways of thinking lose their grip. We are no longer bound to the ground by fear, striving, or old patterns — we are fitted for heaven and alive in Him.This conversation is honest, tender, and full of awe at how the Lord leads when we simply show up and trust Him.

  10. 33

Ep 32 // Jesus Christ and Him Crucified // Deb, Lori and Laura

In this episode, Deb Krum, Laura Cimbalik, and Lori Lowe explore the simplicity of the gospel and the power of life in Christ, centered on the truth of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.Rooted in 1 Corinthians 2:1–5, the conversation highlights the contrast between human wisdom and God’s wisdom, reminding us that our faith is not built on persuasive words or performance, but on the power of the Holy Spirit. Together, they reflect on what it means to live as new creations—no longer defined by our past, our striving, or our understanding, but by the finished work of the cross. This episode invites listeners to release the pressure we place on ourselves, embrace their identity in Christ, and rediscover the freedom that comes from partnering with God rather than trying to work for Him. Through prayer and reflection, Deb, Laura, and Lori encourage believers to proclaim God’s testimony with confidence, trusting that His wisdom far surpasses the wisdom of men.

Ep 31 // Roots Up 2025 // Session 6: Earth-Shaking Sorrow: God Forgotten and God Remembered

In session six of Roots Up, we continue our journey through day two by centering on one essential question: Do we actually believe what God says about us?Deb shares about living much of her life as what she calls an “unbelieving believer”—someone who professed faith in Christ, yet struggled to live from the reality of what God had already declared to be true. Together, we unpack the difference between simply knowing Scripture and truly believing it.Rooted in Philippians 3:12–14, this session invites us to forget what lies behind and press forward toward the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Rather than living anchored to our past or our patterns, we are called to live with our eyes fixed ahead—actively stepping into what God has already made possible.A believing believer takes God at His word. When Scripture says we are a new creation, that means the old is gone and the new has come—right now. As partakers in His divine nature, we are invited to live from a present reality, not a future hope. Struggle is not inevitable, and identity is not fragile when it’s rooted in Christ. This session is a powerful reminder that on the days we forget who we are, our sisters can help call us back to the truth of His Word.👉 Download the Roots Up booklet HERE

  12. 31

Ep 30 // Roots Up 2025 // Session 5: Group Think: Cultural Influences

In Session Five of Roots Up, we examine how emotional thinking and fear can distort our perspective and lead us away from faith. Drawing from the story of the Israelites and the contrast between fear-driven narratives and faith-filled trust, we see how partial truths can discredit God when we rely on what we see instead of who He is.The Israelites forgot that victory was never meant to be achieved in their own strength. Like Jericho, the battles ahead required God. While fear spread through the camp, Joshua and Caleb stood apart—fully aware that without the Lord, there would be no victory. They reminded the people not to rebel against God and not to fear the enemy.Jesus echoes this truth in John 6:28–29 when He reminds us that our role is not to strive, but to believe. Faith is not a one-time act; it is a continual trust in God’s provision and promises. This session invites us to reclaim that expectation—to live with confidence that God will provide, to resist fear, and to walk by faith, knowing that without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6).👉 Download the Roots Up booklet HERE

  13. 30

Ep 29 // Roots Up 2025 // Session 4: Guarding Against Idolatry: Believing God

In this session from our Roots Up Live Event, we explore what it means to live as faithwalkers—people called not to the patterns of this world, but to the reality of God’s upper story.Scripture reminds us not to be conformed to the world (Romans 12:2) or to love its ways (1 John 2:15). Yet the subtle patterns of secularism, pragmatism, materialism, and relativism often shape how we think about life—and even how we think about God. In this conversation, we examine how those patterns affect our minds, our obedience, and the “boxes” we try to fit God into.Drawing from 2 Corinthians 10 and 11, we’re reminded that we can think differently—about the world, about ourselves, and about God. Obedience is not something we manufacture on our own; it is a life of response to God, empowered by Christ Himself. As Philippians 2:12–13 tells us, we work out our salvation because God is already at work in us.This session invites us to renew our minds by telling ourselves—and each other—the truth: God is our supply, our provision, and everything we need.👉 Download the Roots Up booklet HERE:

Ep 28 // Roots Up 2025 // Session 3: Deep into the New Testament

In session three of Roots Up, we take a deep dive into the New Testament, exploring passages from Acts, Romans, and Colossians.Through Scripture and honest reflection, we consider how subtle belief systems—often absorbed without notice—can form the way we view the world and even how we understand God. A simple but searching question guides much of this conversation: What tends to make you cranky? As we sit with it, our reactions begin to reveal where our trust may be misplaced and where hidden idols can quietly take root. This session invites us back to the clarity of God’s Word. Together, we look at how Scripture helps peel back the layers of false narratives and distorted thinking, allowing truth to come into focus once again. Rooted in the encouragement of Colossians, this conversation calls us to lift our eyes, realign our hearts, and learn again what it means to fix our minds on things above. The booklet is available to download, HERE!

  15. 28

Ep 27 // Roots Up 2025 // Session 2: Deep into the Old Testament

In this second session from our live Roots Up weekend, we walk through Exodus 32 and look at a people who grew impatient and shaped a god they could control. Together we talk about the ways we, too, can drift toward self-made comforts when God seems slow, and the invitation to return to Him in trust and dependence. For those wanting to continue the conversation, here is the Roots Up 2025 Booklet that is available to download. Inside are thoughtful prompts and discussion questions—perfect for personal pondering or for processing with a friend who’s listening along to these sessions with you.

    Ep 26 // Roots Up 2025 // Session 1: Kingdom Conversations

This episode begins our multi-week release of live sessions from Roots Up 2025, our women’s gathering from this past October. These sessions invite you to sit with the Lord, listen slowly, and engage in the heart-level work we walked through together. Our theme this year was A Heart Wholly Devoted, focusing on idolatry and wholehearted worship before Him. In this first session, Laura, Deb, Lori, Teresa, and Stephanie share the story behind where we ended up for Roots Up — how the Lord led, what He revealed, and where He directed their hearts as they prepared for Roots Up.We have the booklet that we used throughout the weekend available for you to download. Please use this LINK. We highly encourage you to print it out and walk through the Scriptures, questions, and reflections with us or even alongside a sister in Christ.

    Ep 25 // Thanksgiving: A Kingdom Preparation // Deb, Lori + Laura

Thanksgiving brings a flurry of preparation—cleaning, cooking, gathering—but Scripture invites us into a deeper kind of readiness. A readiness for prayer. In this episode, Laura, Deb, and Lori explore 1 Peter 4:7–8 and its call to be clear-minded and sober in spirit for the purpose of prayer. Together, they look at the inner stories and quiet narratives that often shape how we show up with our families, and how prayer interrupts those patterns and reorients us to Kingdom clarity. A grounding conversation for the week ahead.

  18. 25

Ep 24 // Growth That Comes From the Vine // Deb + Caffe

In this episode of Rooted + Woven, Deb and Caffe return to a question every believer wrestles with: How do we grow spiritually? Their conversation gently traces what Scripture shows us about growth—how it begins with abiding in the Vine and continues through the patient, intentional pruning of the Vinedresser. They talk honestly about how we naturally prefer walking by sight rather than faith, and how pruning often feels like letting go of our own desires, our old patterns, and the things we think we need. Yet in that surrender, something beautiful happens: the Spirit begins to reveal His fruit in us. Not fruit we can produce by trying harder, but the true fruit of His life—love, joy, peace, and all that flows from Him alone.Drawing from passages like Galatians 5, 2 Corinthians 12, and Philippians 3:7-14, they reflect on the sweetness of knowing Jesus right in the middle of the hard places, where His tenderness meets our weakness. Their conversation invites us to slow down, trust His work, and remember that spiritual growth is ultimately about knowing Him more deeply as He shapes us from the inside out.

  19. 24

Ep 23 // The Eternal Exchange // Deb + Laura

In this episode of Rooted + Woven, Laura and Deb take a closer look at the story of the Samaritan woman at the well. What began as an ordinary moment—just drawing water—became a life-changing encounter with Jesus. Together, they reflect on how He met her in her need, spoke truth with compassion, and offered living water that overflowed into her whole community. This conversation invites us to see evangelism not as a task to accomplish, but as an overflow of being known, loved, and transformed by Him.

  20. 23

Ep 22 // The Harvest Is His // A Table Conversation

The harvest is His—and so is the fragrance we carry. In this episode, Deb, Lori, Caffe, and Laura sit down for an honest and hope-filled conversation about evangelism through the lens of the whole gospel.Drawing from Matthew 9:36–37 and 2 Corinthians 2:15, they reflect on how Jesus is the Lord of the harvest and how we are invited to simply join Him in what He’s already doing. When we know that God is the One drawing hearts, evangelism becomes less about striving and more about resting in Him.Together they share how listening, asking good questions, and abiding in Christ helps us carry His fragrance into every relationship and conversation—allowing His love to flow naturally through us.

  21. 22

Ep 21 // Spiritual Growth: For His Good Pleasure // Deb + Lori

We sometimes measure our walk with God by how much we’ve grown. But Deb and Lori remind us that growth isn’t the goal — knowing and loving Him is. As they unpack Philippians 2:12–13, they point us back to the truth that it is God who works in us, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. When we believe that, our hearts rest and our roots sink deeper in Him.

  22. 21

Ep 20 // Before the Throne of God: Fully Known, Fully Loved // Psalms 139

In this episode of Rooted + Woven, Deb leads us in a quiet, heartfelt prayer before the throne of God, reflecting on the timeless truth of Psalm 139 — that our Father knows us completely, sees every thought, and understands the utterances of our hearts. As we rest in the wonder of being fully known, we are drawn into a deeper knowing of Him, a fuller surrender of our hearts, and a more intimate experience of His presence. Join us in this sacred time, listening, praying, and letting the One who knows you completely meet you where you are.

  23. 20

Ep 19 // Before the Throne of God: a Prayerful Conversation // Deb + Lori

In this prayerful conversation, Deb and Lori come before the throne of God, simply responding to what the Spirit has placed on their hearts. Rooted in Colossians 2:2 and 2 Timothy 1:12, they pray from a place of deep assurance — knowing whom they have believed, and trusting that He is able to guard all that is entrusted to Him.As you listen, may your own heart be drawn into prayer and strengthened with the full assurance of understanding that comes from being united in Christ’s love.

  24. 19

Ep 18 // Posture of the Heart : Preparing for Roots Up // Deb + Laura

Deb and Laura share a conversation about coming to Roots Up with open hearts and expectant spirits. They explore the importance of releasing expectations, embracing the unexpected, and shifting focus from what we hope to receive to what God desires to draw from our hearts. This episode challenges listeners to posture their hearts in humility and surrender.

  25. 18

Ep 17 // Fellowship Redefined: Sharing Life in Christ // Deb, Caffe, and Teresa

Deb welcomes Caffe and Teresa for a candid conversation about fellowship in Christ, the Greek concept of koinonia. More than friendship, koinonia is a shared participation in the life of Christ that unites believers. When we know that nothing can separate us from His love, we can face life and relationships with confidence, letting that love guide how we walk with each other, even through trials. Caffe and Teresa open up about how this truth has shaped their friendship, offering hope and encouragement for sisters longing for authentic, Christ-centered fellowship.

  26. 17

Ep 16 // Abundant Life Every Day // Deb + Teresa

In this episode, Deb and Theresa share a heartfelt conversation about the reality that Christ Himself is our life and our identity. Drawing from 1 John 1 and Colossians 3, they remind us that revival in Him is not a short burst of emotion or a passing spiritual experience but a continual reality for every believer. When we understand that His life is our life, the ordinary rhythms of each day take on new meaning. There is no such thing as a dull or mundane day, because every moment is filled with the abundance of His presence. Life in Christ is miraculous, eternal, and overflowing with fellowship with Him.

  27. 16

Ep 15 // Entrusting Ourselves to Him // Deb + Laura

In this episode, Deb and I process the recent events surrounding Charlie Kirk through the lens of Scripture rather than the swirl of social media and loud opinions. We reflect on 1 Peter 2, where Jesus endured persecution without reviling in return, choosing instead to entrust Himself to God, the righteous Judge. It’s a timely reminder and invitation for us as His church to quiet the chatter, fix our eyes on Christ, and let Him live His life through us as a bright light to those around us.

  28. 15

    Ep 14 // Ongoing Believing // Deb + Stephanie

What does it mean to keep believing God? In this conversation, Deb and Stephanie explore passages from Deuteronomy and Numbers. They zoom in where the Israelites faced the challenge of trusting and believing God’s promise. Ten spies gave in to fear, but Joshua and Caleb believed God was greater than the giants. This episode will strengthen your faith to continuously believe God and take Him at His word, no matter what you see.

  29. 14

Ep 13 // Deep Waters of Belief // Deb + Laura

Laura and Deb dive into a rich conversation about what it means to believe God—really believe Him. They talk about stepping into deep and uncharted waters, trusting that He is who He says He is, and how living from a posture of belief changes everything. From seeing God bigger to experiencing His promises in new ways, this episode will inspire you to take Him at His Word and go deeper than ever before.

  30. 13

Ep 12 // When the Gospel Shapes Marriage // A Table Conversation

What does it really mean to live out a whole gospel in marriage? In this candid conversation, Deb, Lori, Caffe, Stephanie, and Laura unpack how a complete understanding of the gospel changes everything for our confidence, our relationships, and our marriages. We talk about biblical submission, not as passivity or weakness, but as a posture of trust in the Lord, knowing He is actively working in our husbands’ lives and can be trusted. Discover how letting go of control brings freedom, strength, and a deeper confidence in Christ’s work in us and in them.

  31. 12

Ep 11 // The Old is Gone, The New Has Come // Deb + Caffe

In this episode, Deb and Caffe share an honest and hope-filled conversation about the new life we have in Christ. They talk about what it means to let go of the old and step into the new, about inheritance and the eternal promises of God, and about how His discipline and the narrow places of life shape us in ways we can’t always see. Caffe reflects on Esau’s choice to trade his birthright for a bowl of soup, a picture of how easy it is to chase temporary satisfaction instead of lasting fulfillment. Woven through their words are threads of surrender, discipline, and hope; ultimately pointing us back to the beauty of life in Christ.

  32. 11

Ep 10 // Abiding in His Love // Deb + Teresa

In this heartfelt conversation, Teresa and Deb dive into 1 John, talking about fellowship, love, and faith. They share about the real, tangible presence of Jesus and the deep, personal relationship we can have with God. Ten return paralyzed by fear, while two hold fast to faith. What separated them? A willingness to believe God and take Him at His word. Their responses echo into our own lives today. Will we believe what He has promised—even when the giants feel more real than the victory? Join us for a conversation about trust, obedience, and what it truly means to believe God in the face of fear.

  34. 9

Ep 8 // Clearing the View: How the Spirit Guides Us to Truth // Deb + Laura

Sometimes we don’t even realize the lenses we’re looking through. In this conversation, Deb and Laura talk through the cultural "isms" that subtly distort our view of God’s Word, such as pragmatism, humanism, materialism, and secularism. They reflect on how the Holy Spirit gently clears our vision and helps us see with heaven’s perspective.

  35. 8

Ep 7 // What Do Puzzle Pieces Have to Do with Faith and Belief?

In this episode, Deb shares a powerful message given at Christ Presbyterian Church, using the imagery of puzzle pieces to illustrate how the complete picture of the gospel comes together in our lives. She invites us to see how faith and belief are not just abstract ideas, but vital connections that help us walk with confidence as we trust God to complete the picture He’s forming. Whether you feel like you’re holding just a few scattered pieces or struggling to see how they fit, this message will encourage you to keep walking by faith as the whole, beautiful picture of the gospel unfolds.
