    The Woman Behind Your Mom

My mother died when I was 18.For years, I thought I simply missed my mother. But as I have grown older, I have realised that I miss something else too: the woman I never had enough time to know.Because when your mother dies while you are still a teenager, you know her as Mum. You know the woman who raised you, disciplined you, fed you, worried about you and loved you. But you don't necessarily know her as a woman..And perhaps the older we get, the more questions we realise we should have asked. So, inspired by what would have been my mother's 81st birthday, I am dedicating four episodes of Salt Talks to The Woman Behind Mum.Across these four conversations, we explore the questions that can help us move beyond the familiar role of "Mum" and discover the woman underneath it all.If your mother is still here, this series is an invitation to sit with her, ask better questions and really listen.Because one day, the questions may remain. But the person who can answer them may not.Don't just know your mother as Mum.
Go and meet the woman behind Mum.
