Sermons from Upper Dublin Lutheran Church

We share big personal news about accepting a new call while naming the very real fear that comes with stepping into responsibility. We look at Peter’s confession, failures, and commissioning to show why God’s work rests on God’s faithfulness rather than our perfection.

We respond to a scary disruption at a synagogue by naming the deeper sickness underneath it: a society that cannot talk face to face. We explore Jewish stories and teachings that show how to learn across difference, disagree with respect, and bring more light into a divided world.

We ask what faith really means and land on a sturdier answer than simple belief: faith is trust built in relationship with God. Through Peter’s fear on the water, Elijah’s silence, and Paul’s promise that the Word is near, we hold onto the claim that God does not abandon us in storms or doubt.

We hear Jesus’ invitation to “look at the birds of the air” as a practice of wonder that widens our perspective when worry tries to shrink it. We share how a beloved rescue dog, a week at Bear Creek Camp, and honest talk about poverty and mental health point us toward God’s care made visible through love and action.

We hear Jesus’ parables from Matthew and wrestle with why the Kingdom of Heaven shows up as small, hidden, and ordinary instead of loud and forceful. We connect that quiet growth to campus ministry change, the fear we feel around judgment, and the steady promise from Romans that nothing can separate us from God’s love.
