Patrick Lewis preaches the message, “Holding onto the Covenant Words of the LORD.” In this portion, we find the psalmist longing for God's salvation, clinging to his promises in affliction and discovering that God’s Word provides life, stability and wisdom in a changing world.

Guest preacher John Chung from Covenant Theological Seminary. John will preach from Psalm 87 that celebrates God's love for his city and his gracious invitation to people from every nation to become citizens of his kingdom.

Pastor Dave preaches from Psalm 119:41–80, “God’s Word Works In Tough Moments.” Life often brings opposition, affliction, and seasons when we feel alone. In this portion of Psalm 119, the psalmist repeatedly turns to God’s promises and discovers that his Word provides courage when he is attacked, comfort when he is afflicted, and community when he feels isolated.

The psalmist prays, “Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law” (v. 18). As we look at this passage together, we will be reminded that understanding, loving and following God's Word is not something we accomplish on our own. We need the illuminating work of the Holy Spirit to open our eyes, enlighten our minds, change our hearts, and renew our wills. 

Pastor Dave preaches from Psalm 119:1–16, “The Way Out of a Happiness Crisis?” In a culture searching for happiness in countless places, Psalm 119 begins with a surprising claim: true blessedness is found in knowing God, seeking him wholeheartedly, and walking in his ways. Together we'll explore how God's Word shapes our motivations, our conversations, and our affections, leading us toward the life he created us to enjoy.

Over the years, the Psalms have become an important part of our life together at NPC. They teach us how to pray, worship, lament, rejoice, hope, and trust God through the real experiences of life. They reveal the character of God, deepen our understanding of Christ, and help shape us as disciples who learn to walk faithfully with the Lord in every circumstance. We resume our Studies in the Psalms summer series as Pastor Chris preaches from Psalm 118, “The Enduring Love of the LORD: A Song of Thanksgiving for the People of God.” Psalm 118 calls God’s people to remember and proclaim the steadfast love and faithfulness of the Lord, a love that sustains his people through every season of life and draws us together in worship from generation to generation.

It is a special opportunity to celebrate the beauty of what God is building in and through his church. Our message "The Grace of Church Membership" reminds us that the church is a people being built together in Christ as a “spiritual house.” As the apostle Peter writes, we are “living stones” being joined together through Jesus, our cornerstone (see 1 Peter 2:4-10).

We gather with thankful hearts as we celebrate God’s faithfulness through the completion of Generate, our building addition and renovation project! As exciting as new spaces can be, our focus is ultimately on something greater: the Lord’s ongoing work of building his church from generation to generation. Pastor Dave's sermon reminds us that God’s true building project is his people. Throughout Scripture, human beings often built for their own name and glory, but God is building a people for his presence and purposes through Jesus Christ, our Cornerstone. We’ll reflect together on how the Lord beautifies his church with both his presence and his people, and how these renewed spaces can serve future generations as we continue “Making Room for Who’s Next.”
