Chapter 17After uncovering how ego (yeshus) leads to separation, envy, and sinas chinam, the Rebbe Rashab reveals that the battle against “Midyan” — the force of fragmentation — cannot be won through self-effort alone. It requires connection to a source beyond the self. Through Moshe Rabbeinu, the Ra’aya Mehemna (“shepherd of faith”), we are given access to a deeper level of truth and unity that allows us to transcend ego and restore real connection — within ourselves, with others, and with Hashem.
