Shit My Pastor Said
by Kris Sauter, Dano Sauter
They said it with a smile to appear playful. They would call us family, so we would bind ourselves tighter, while their power sat firmly in the center. They cried at the end of a long day, “We are the luckiest people in the world to have this job!” as we trudged back into another twelve-hour shift.Shit My Pastor Said is a space to expose, name, and process the spiritual abuse and manipulation we’ve carried for too long. This isn’t just about venting, it’s about reclaiming. Together we’ll: Laugh at the absurdity of what was said to us. Cry at the weight of what we endured. Inspire one another as we move toward healing.Because sometimes the best way to start mending wounds is by naming them out loud.

Greg Boyd
Greg Boyd is known for a lot important things. Theologian, pastor, professor, heavy metal drummer ...happy for him. What he WILL be known for is his debut on Shit My Pastor Said. I imagine people will be pushing each other into bushes to be the first amongst their peers to shout "Isn't that Greg Boyd from the Sauter Pod??!!!!!!" Rumors are true friends, Greg Boyd joined us to talk non-violent response, hope for the future church, why he struggles with his double bass kicks, and some pretty amazing wisdom on being kind. Greg is one of our mentors and heroes, and we are so excited for you to meet him for yourself.

A Christian DJ Walks Into a Cidery...
Jake Scott joins us this week, and it's a ride. Once almost fired as a Christian radio DJ, then a pastoral intern who stayed way longer than he should have, Jake walks us through the lessons that shaped him, the people who held him, and how it all informed the way he leads his crew at Duluth Cider today. We talk about love, loss, faith, business, and what happens when you finally stop trying to be the person everyone told you to be. Trigger warning: sexual assault is discussed near the end of the episode.

Church Conferences Gone Wild?
Who doesn't love a good church conference? The lanyards. The merch tables. The worship team that definitely rehearsed for 19 hours straight. And of course, prophecy hour, where you find out just how well you REALLY hear from God, or whether you are just guessing with confidence. In this episode, we dive into the conference culture so many of us grew up in: ➡️ The prophetic hot seat moments ➡️ The spiritual competition no one admits is happening ➡️ The one person everyone collectively eye rolls at (you know EXACTLY who we mean) ➡️ And the question beneath it all: What were we actually looking for at these events ➡️ And can we find that longing anywhere else, somewhere healthier, kinder, or maybe just less dramatic? If you have ever attended a church conference, survived one, or escaped one, this episode is for you. Pull up a chair and laugh and cry with us as we unpack the wild world of conferences, the ways they shape us, and the deeper desires we carried into those spaces.
