  1. 30

Eyes Of The Heart pt. 2

In the letter to the Romans we learn an encouraging truth: When we renew our minds by looking at Jesus, we can become people who can accurately and frequently know God's will for our lives. In this episode we consider how much of God's will for our lives we can know, and how to confidently make decisions knowing that they are in step with the will of God.

  2. 29

Eyes Of The Heart pt. 1

We are always being influenced by something. Those "things" are forming us (or our hearts) into the person we are becoming. In this episode we consider what we might be filling our hearts with and how filling it with the glory of God is the path to becoming like Christ.

  3. 28

    Genesis ep. 11 // Babel

In the final episode of Genesis pt. 1 we look at the concluding story of the Genesis "prologue", Genesis chapter 11 - the story of Babel. Here we learn a sobering truth about humans, though we were literally made to make great the of God (as the images of God), we are constantly tempted to make a great name for ourselves.

  4. 27

Genesis ep. 10 // The Flood: Death or Life?

The Flood story is often seen by the world as a narrative of God's wrath and anger. However, a faithful reading of the story reveals something much different about God and about the purpose of the flood.

  5. 26

Genesis ep. 10 // Noah and The Idol Raft

In this episode we explore ideas about what the Ark was and how Noah was the first human to obey the voice of God and how his obedience made a way for his family to survive the coming flood.

  6. 25

Genesis ep.8 // The Sons of God and the Sorrow of God

Genesis 6:1-8 shows us of the mirrored story of the fall of humans to the sin of the Sons of God and how God grieves over the wickedness of both his human and heavenly children.

  7. 24

Genesis ep.7 // The Most Exciting Genealogy Ever

Discover how the genealogy of Seth gives us hope for humanity.

  8. 23

Genesis ep. 6 // Sin Is A Crouching Animal (Gen 4)

In this episode we explore how the decedents of Eve continue in the ways of their parents by being ruled by sin rather than ruling over it. Sin is personified as a crouching animal, Eve's son and grandsons get worse and worse, yet her third child leaves us with a glimmer of hope...

  9. 22

Special: Young Adults and The Church

In this episode, Caleb talks about the vital role young adults play in the life of the church and how each person should ask God how He wants them to participate in their local church.

  10. 21

    Genesis ep.5 // Reframing Truth (Gen 3)

In this episode we continue the biblical saga of God and His image-bearing humans. We see how the first humans sin comes by a reframing of God's Word in an attempt to be the deciders of what is good and bad.

  11. 20

    Genesis ep.4 // A First Look At The Image-Bearing Humans (Gen 2)

In this episode we continue into the biblical saga. Humanity is created in the image of God and in the second scene of the Genesis narrative we get our first look at these "image-bearing" humans.

  12. 19

    Genesis ep.3 // Making Sense of Genesis 1 & 2

As you read Genesis, one of the first questions you may have is "what is going on with the first and second chapters? Are they telling the same story? Different stories? Or the same story from different perspectives?" In this episode we explore 3 common views people take to understand the relationship between Genesis 1 & 2 and how our view of these foundational stories can radically shift our theology.

  13. 18

Genesis ep.2 // The Unexpected Story of Creation

Much of our frustration and discomfort reading the Hebrew Bible finds its origin in not understanding what type of literature we are reading. Genesis chapter 1 is the perfect model for preparing readers of the Bible with how they should expect the Bible to speak: In creative, engaging, and often unexpected ways that communicates much with few words. This episode explains the dual literary style of Genesis chapter 1 and how both the narrative design and poetic design lead us to learning about God, humanity, and our relationship to Him.

  14. 17

Genesis ep.1 // The Hebrew Bible

In this episode we kickoff our series on Genesis. The book of Genesis is the most foundational book to a biblical worldview. We explore the nature of the Hebrew Bible (the Old Testament) and how understanding its makeup can aid us in better interpretations of God's World.

  15. 16

Gospel ep.15 // Engaging Opposing Worldviews

In this episode Kenny teaches how we can engage other worldviews and in inparticular, Progressive Christianity.

  17. 14

Gospel ep.13 // Sharing the Gospel

(feat. Dave Bean)  This episode is from the final part of the Gospel series. The final part of this series is a collection of teachings aimed to give you ideas and tools on how to share the gospel with people in the contemporary day and age. Hope you enjoy the message and that it gives you confidence and clarity to share the good news of Jesus.

  18. 13

Gospel ep.12 // The Atonement of Jesus

When we read the narrative of the human fall into sin we are left with the question: “How will we ever make it back to right relationship with God.” Because God is holy, how is that He could remain just and merciful towards us in light of our sin? The answer is: Through the life work of Jesus. In this episode, we cap off the second movement of the gospel series by studying the incredible act of God in Jesus’ atonement.

  19. 12

Gospel BONUS eppy // A conversation on judgement, punishment, & consequence

In response to the incredible conversation following the teaching on God's justice and wrath, we decided to record a conversation addressing some of the questions that were brought up.

  20. 11

    Gospel ep.11 // God's Holiness pt.2: Justice/Wrath

Welcome to the Grace Chapel Young Adults podcast. The impetus behind the good news of Jesus becomes clearer when we understand God’s unchanging and ever-present characteristics. In this teaching, Kenny Broeker illustrates the biblical portrait of God’s wrath and justice and how they are characteristics to both fear and rejoice in. Here’s the episode.

  21. 10

    Gospel ep.10 // God's Holiness pt.1: Grace/Mercy

Part of God being holy is that He is unchanging in every situation. This means He must be who He is always. When humanity fell into sin, God responded with all of His attributes: His Grace, justice, mercy, love, faithfulness and more. In this teaching, we learn about two of God’s attributes and how He shows them in response to the sin of humans against Him.

  22. 9

Gospel ep.9 // Who Are We?

To say something is good is to say there is something bad. Therefore, the good news of Jesus is only good in light of the bad news. In this episode we begin to set context for why the gospel of Jesus is good news. And to do that, we look at the biblical portrait of the human condition to understand the good things Jesus has done.

  23. 8

Gospel ep.8 // Of Jesus Christ

Welcome to the Grace Chapel Young Adults podcast. Kicking off part 2 of the Gospel series, we lay the groundwork for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To understand the gospel we have to know who God is, who we are, and who Jesus is. In this episode Caleb introduces some of the fundamental characteristics of God and humans, and how the person of Jesus plays such an important role in the restoration of relationship between the two. Here’s the episode.

  24. 7

    Gospel ep.7 // Kingdom of Heaven Q&R

This week we had a live question and response time with Caleb and our special guest and friend, Zach Fischer. In the spirit of bringing clarity to the gospel, we wanted to make space for our community to ask questions they had about the Kingdom of Heaven and give some thoughtful responses to them. You’ll hear responses to previously submitted questions and a couple of live audience questions as well.

  25. 6

Gospel ep.6 // Sermon On The Mount

In this episode we wrap up the first part of the Gospel series on the Kingdom of Heaven. Caleb takes us back to Jesus’ most lengthy recorded collection of teachings; The Sermon on The Mount. This sermon is packed with quick punchy teachings about what the kingdom is like and challenges us to really consider how the Kingdom impacts our lives. Jesus concludes with a not-so-subtle question: Will you wisely act on these teachings? Or will you foolishly ignore them? As you listen to this sermon, we encourage you to consider the same.

  26. 5

Gospel ep. 5 // Entering The Kingdom

In this episode we look at, quite possibly, the most important question in this series, “how does someone enter the Kingdom of Heaven”. We have spent weeks learning what the Kingdom is like, when it will take effect, who will be a part of it, and now, how to become people whom Jesus will welcome into His eternal Kingdom. Caleb challenges us to consider whether we will enter the Kingdom and how we will teach the way of entry to others.

  27. 4

Gospel ep.4 // The Kingdom: Later

The Kingdom of Heaven is currently here because Jesus’ authority has already taken effect on the world. However, the Kingdom will come in its full measure and will stand as the only Kingdom in the world. This Kingdom will only have one type of people in it: Disciples of the Kingdom. And this is what this teaching explores.

  28. 3

Gospel ep.3 // The Kingdom: Now

Jesus uses language to describe the Kingdom that can be a bit confusing. Sometimes He speaks as though the Kingdom of Heaven is already here, yet at other times it seems as though it has not yet arrived. Theologians often refer to this concept as the already-but-not-yet nature of the Kingdom. In this teaching we explore how the Kingdom of Heaven is already at hand and how we can see it.

  29. 2

Gospel ep.2 // Of The Kingdom

In this episode we take an initial look into the first of the two main components of the gospel message: The Kingdom of Heaven

  30. 1

Gospel ep.1 // One Gospel, Two Components

In our inaugural episode of the Grace Chapel Young Adults podcast, we begin a new series on the gospel. This series aims to bring clairty to the message of the gospel to help unmuddy an often impartial presentation of the Good News of God. Glad you've joined us!
