Ep. 4 - On the Good Path..but Distracted
Send a textHow do you know you’re still on The Good Path when distractions keep getting louder? In this honest and deeply personal episode, I’m sharing what God has been teaching me in real time about focus, ambition, business, pregnancy, ministry — and the tension of feeling pulled in multiple directions at once.As a small business owner, mom of (almost) four, and woman called to ministry, I know what it feels like to want growth, provision, impact… and still sense God asking you to pull back and realign. What happens when good things start competing with God things? What do you do when ambition and calling collide? In prayer, I saw a picture:An arrow aimed at two targets. And I heard clearly: “One arrow cannot hit two targets at the same time.”This episode is about that revelation — and what to do when you feel distracted, behind, pressured, or unsure if you’re even aiming at the right thing.Inside this conversation, we talk about:Why distractions often get louder when you’re on the right pathHow the enemy uses good desires to create misalignmentThe tension of being “pulled back” like an arrow before releaseWhy ministry (or your primary calling) must remain firstProverbs 3:5–6 and what it truly means to submit everythingThree practical steps to refocus when you feel off targetIf you’ve been:• Comparing your progress• Feeling behind in business• Wrestling with ambition• Navigating a season of pause• Or simply wondering, “Am I doing what God actually wants me to do?”This episode is for you.Distractions will come. But a split arrow is ineffective. The Good Path requires focus, surrender, and trust — especially in seasons of tension.I pray this conversation helps you realign, refocus, and remember that God is the One pulling the bow — and His aim never misses. If this episode blessed you, share it with a friend who might be feeling off target. Self-Control & the Power of the Tongue: Staying in Step With the Holy Spirit
Send a textAfter a few weeks away, I’m back—and this episode comes straight from real life. Between sickness, business demands, pregnancy, and everyday pressures, God has been reminding me of the importance of self-control, especially when it comes to the words we speak. In this episode, I share a vulnerable moment where frustration could have easily turned into hurtful words—and how the Holy Spirit stepped in right on time. We talk about why self-control isn’t just willpower, why believers are held to a higher standard, and how the Holy Spirit actively helps us pause, redirect, and choose life instead of momentary satisfaction. If you’ve ever struggled with what comes out of your mouth, replayed arguments in your mind, or felt that tension right before saying “the thing,” this episode is for you. True self-control is not something we manufacture—it’s something we yield to.Show NotesIn this episode of the Speak Daughter Podcast, we explore:Why self-control is a fruit of the Spirit, not just good behaviorHow the Holy Spirit helps govern our words, thoughts, and reactionsThe danger of “playing out” conversations and scenarios in our mindsWhy the enemy targets the very areas God wants to use mostPractical, Spirit-led steps to grow in self-control📖 Galatians 5:22–25 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control… Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”Why it matters:This passage reminds us that self-control is not something we achieve through discipline alone—it’s produced by the Holy Spirit. Verse 25 is especially important because it shows that living by the Spirit requires intentional dependence and alignment. You cannot keep in step with the Spirit without first yielding to Him.📖 Proverbs 18:21 “The tongue has the power of life and death.”Why it matters:Your words are not neutral. If God has gifted you with influence, communication, or leadership, the enemy will often try to corrupt that gift through careless, reactive, or hurtful speech. This is why self-control with the tongue is both spiritual warfare and stewardship.Action Steps You Can Apply TodayAsk God to reveal areas where self-control is lackingBoth present struggles and future vulnerabilities.Ask for sensitivity in the moment of testingAwareness creates space for the Holy Spirit to intervene.Lean on the Holy Spirit consistently—not selectivelyAccept correction, thank Him for it, and apply it immediately.Refinement is not failure—it’s preparation.Book Mentioned in This Episode: The Wonderful Spirit-Filled Life by Dr. Charles StanleyStay ConnectedFollow the podcast on YouTubeConnect on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok(Links can be added here)If this episode resonated with you, share it with someone who needs the reminder—and let me know what stood out to you most.🎙️ Speak Daughter.
