The Heart Chakra and Mediumship: Integration, Grief, and the Ethics of This Work

Part four of the chakra and mediumship series and the one I have been sitting with the longest. The heart is the bridge chakra. Everything you did in root, sacral, and solar plexus has to integrate here before it can become service. In this video I share what happened to my mediumship in 2020 when I experienced real grief for the first time and could not do readings for months. I also talk about why ethics and integrity are not the same thing and why both of them live here in the heart. If you work with people in grief, if you are a developing medium, or if you have ever felt fractured between what you know to be right and what you are actually doing, this one is for you.   MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: The Declaration, ethics certification for practitioners in unregulated spaces: https://www.daniellesearancke.com/the-declaration  Root Chakra and Mediumship: https://www.daniellesearancke.com/the-development-journal/root-chakra-mediumship-belonging-humiliation-dignity  Sacral Chakra and Mediumship: https://www.daniellesearancke.com/the-development-journal/sacral-chakra-mediumship-clairsentience-energy-boundaries  Solar Plexus Chakra and Mediumship: https://www.daniellesearancke.com/the-development-journal/solar-plexus-chakra-mediumship-confidence-authority    LINKS: Spirit School Collective: https://www.daniellesearancke.com/spiritschoolcollective  Free Spiritual Development Resources: https://www.daniellesearancke.com/spiritual-development-resources  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/squamishmedium/    #HeartChakra #MediumshipDevelopment #ChakrasAndMediumship #SpiritSchool #SquamishMedium #Grief #MediumshipEthics #IndigenousMedium #SpiritualDevelopment #EnergyCenters

I Am a Medium Today Because of Sylvia Browne

All Podcasts are now Youtube Videos I am sharing the origin story of how I became a medium and it starts with a latchkey kid coming home from school in the 1990s, turning on the TV, and watching Sylvia Browne on Montel Williams for the very first time. Sylvia Browne was my unofficial theology growing up. I had no religion, no framework, just her on Montel every Wednesday. In this episode I talk about what she meant to me as a teenager, the letter to the universe exercise from The Other Side and Back that genuinely changed my life, and what it felt like to reconnect with her clips during the pandemic and see everything through a completely different lens. I cover: How Sylvia sparked a decades long path to mediumship My time with Vancouver Paranormal, EVP recordings, and my first passport trip to Chillingham Castle The letter to the universe exercise and what happened the moment I finished writing it A balanced look at her legacy: trailblazer and cautionary tale How the ethics and trauma informed approach I teach today came directly from what was missing in that era And I want to know: was Sylvia Browne part of your origin story too? Follow @teiganish on Instagram for the Sylvia Browne clips I reference in this episode. The t-shirt I am wearing is from him too and shirts will be available later this year. The Unseen Helpers Guiding Your Life Right Now

If you knew who surrounded you, you would never be afraid. In this episode I unpack what that actually means. I share how I developed my faith in spirit guides, the moment that faith completely shattered, and what restored it in the span of thirty seconds through undeniable experiences that make this path worth it all. I talk about the different realms of unseen helpers, guides, ancestors, inspirers, and the God realm I am still building toward, and what happened at my retreat this year when my guides asked me to introduce them to the room and assured me magic. I also share the story of Leonard George of Tsleil-Waututh Nation, an elder who showed up on the edge of my bed at my first retreat in 2023 with two messages that changed the direction of my work entirely. Save the date. September 14th. This story is not finished yet. I close with Leonard's most beloved story, The Rising of the Spirit. The last four words will stay with you. If this topic is landing for you, all of July inside the Spirit School Collective is dedicated to guides. https://www.daniellesearancke.com/spiritschoolcollective

The Creator Never Puts a Dream in Your Heart You Cannot Fulfill

The Creator Never Puts a Dream in Your Heart You Cannot Fulfill See pictures with the stories here: https://www.daniellesearancke.com/the-development-journal/a-message-to-the-youth-the-creator-never-puts-a-dream-in-your-heart-you-cannot-fulfill  For the first time in as long as I can remember, I do not have a dream I am chasing. So I went looking backward instead of forward. In this episode I trace my actual path. My first dream of becoming a teacher at seventeen. The mentors who saw something in me I could not see in myself. My years in motorsports. The decade at the First Nations Health Authority where I became a mother, a medium, and a confident woman all at once. The keynote I recently gave to a youth summit in Squamish. And what it felt like to realize, twenty six years later, that my original dream had already come true. I close with a poem from The Wishing Bone Cycle, a Swampy Cree creation story I have come to love.

Belonging Is Not a Modern Longing

I am coming off of hosting my fourth Sacred Spirit Retreat and I wanted to share what I opened the retreat with because I think it is something a lot of us are quietly carrying. Belonging. Not the performance of it. The actual felt sense of it in your body. In this episode I talk about what belonging really is as a regulated nervous system state, not just a feeling of being liked. I share why Brené Brown's distinction between belonging and fitting in changed one of my core filters for how I spend my time. I talk about the small community moments, like the Squamish acknowledgement nod, that quietly shaped my sense of home over 20 years of living here. Then I go somewhere more personal. Last summer a friend said something to me in the car that I hadn't been able to say to myself. That my deepest place of not belonging lives inside my own Indigenous reconnection journey as a Swampy Cree woman. I share what that revelation felt like, what I have been doing with it, and how spirit responded by leading me to a 50 year old book called The Wishing Bone Cycle: Narrative Poems From the Swampy Cree Indians. I close with a reading of the Turtle poem and an invitation: scan the room wherever you are and make someone belong. Even just for a minute.

Music, Mediumship & the Intelligence of Spirit with Debbie Squizzero

**SOUND QUALITY - ever have one of those days? Tech was not on my side today and my mic wasn't working so the sound quality is less than stellar - watch the video version on youtube** In this episode, Danielle sits down with her longtime friend and fellow medium Debbie Squizzero, also known as the Singing Medium, for a rich and joyful conversation about the way the spirit world communicates through music. Deb shares how songs began showing up in her readings during tarot class, why she always hears them in her right ear, and how her clients have built entire playlists from the songs their loved ones sent through her over the years. Danielle and Deb also swap stories about group readings, the resistance that almost kept them both from the work they were born to do, and the health crises that ultimately forced them into alignment. Whether you are a developing medium, a devoted sitter, or someone who has ever woken up with a song stuck in your head that felt like more than a coincidence, this episode will make you listen differently. This is a conversation between two friends who have walked the path together for nearly a decade, and it shows. The Maturing Medium: Ego, Soul & Service

2026 marks my 13th year of mediumship development. In this episode, I reflect on what has truly sustained me on this path — not the phenomena, not the validation, not the performance — but the maturation process of ego, soul, and service. Mediumship is not about becoming special. It is about becoming spiritually mature. Through the lens of the energy centers, I explore how mediumship development mirrors human development: • Root — belonging, inherited beliefs, humiliation and dignity • Sacral — emotional awareness, “Is this mine?”, energetic repair • Solar Plexus — qualifiers, authority, ego maturation   Spirit School Retreat June 2026 Applications are Open! https://www.daniellesearancke.com/spirit-school-retreat

Spiritual Gatekeeping: Boundaries, Scarcity and Red Flags

In this episode, we unpack a powerful listener question: Can students also become gatekeepers in spiritual spaces? From mentorship secrets to withheld resources, we explore where "healthy boundaries" end—and where scarcity, secrecy, or ego may begin. This isn't a call-out episode—it's an invitation to look deeper at how we share, protect, and pass on spiritual knowledge. We talk transparency, reciprocity, cultural protection, and why some teachings are guarded for good reason. In This Episode, We Explore: Gatekeeping vs. Boundaries: How to tell whether someone is protecting themselves—or protecting exclusivity. Scarcity and Insecurity: The hidden fears behind withholding teachers, tools, or lineage. Reciprocity in Community: When sharing is medicine—and when it must come with respect and responsibility. Cultural Protection: Why some teachings must be guarded to preserve tradition and fight colonization. Business Spaces: What happens when entrepreneurs gatekeep strategy? Personal Accountability: What to do when someone else's secrecy triggers something in us. Unpacking Weaponized Spirituality

When does spiritual teaching cross into control? Danielle S. and Danielle B. explore “weaponizing spirituality”—the moment channelled messages or confident truth claims become decrees that override your agency. They unpack pandemic-era examples, business-space tactics (such as blind offers, urgency, and the “you’re not ready” approach), and gatekeeping in training. You’ll hear how humility, transparency, and psychological safety create healthier containers for learning, plus quick cues to spot red flags and practices to restore balance—like shared authority, longer decision windows, and clear expectations. If absolutist language, guru-centering, or pressure to buy now make your nervous system spike, this episode offers a grounded reset and questions to bring your power back online.   Highlights: Defining weaponized spirituality and its impact on personal agency. Business tactics: blind offers, urgency marketing, and inflated payment plans. Gatekeeping in training with labels like “untrained” or “unqualified.” Mediumship as an interpretive art with room for error and growth. Humility as the antidote to absolutism in spiritual teaching. Psychological safety built through clarity, transparency, and time. Restoring balance with shared authority, alumni access, and peer learning. Red flags: absolutist language, guru-centering, urgency, and pressure. Self-check prompts to notice when you may be giving away power.

The Art of Boundaries: Navigating Friendship and Business

Danielle S. and Danielle B. pick up their conversation about ethics, boundaries and the evolution of their client → collaborator → friend relationship. They trace the arc from a first evidential reading to working together for the past five and a half years — interspersed with stories about grief, postpartum, entrepreneurship burnout, spiritual tools, and how to keep a working friendship healthy.   Highlights: The first reading: Danielle B. remembers coming for grief support after her father’s death — and getting future details that have since come true. Evidence first: Danielle S. explains why she always brings through verifiable mediumship details before offering psychic predictions. Teaching empowerment: how Danielle S.’s mentorship changed Danielle B.’s relationship to spirit work and gave her permission to trust her own intuition. Pendulum experiment: a revealing anecdote about discovering tools, the doubting mind, and how the two Danielles use quick yes/no messages to validate readings for each other. Boundaries in practice: concrete examples of how they negotiate work rhythm. Containment vs. bleeding: a key phrase — containment — used to describe emotional maturity in their working friendship, and how it helped when postpartum or business overwhelm showed up. When closeness changes readings, both note how intimacy can shift mediumship, and why friends sometimes become less likely subjects for readings. Why they stay: treating each other like professional clients created space, clarity and longevity.   This conversation is weekly—leave a comment, tag and share on social, and send in your questions for future episodes.

Surrounded by Creatives: How Emotional Support Became Medicine

This episode of Spirit School is a little different. It is raw, unedited, and straight from my heart. After a summer of filming, I have been reflecting on the surprising ways my nervous system has healed and how being surrounded by a team of supportive, passionate creatives became medicine for my spirit. I share: • How clairsentience and nervous system sensitivity show up in mediumship • The hidden costs of spiritual work on our energy and health • Why holding space for others can tax us more than we realize • The radical shift I felt from letting go of control and scaling back my business • How being with a crew of artists, storytellers, and creatives repaired my nervous system in ways I never expected • A powerful “before and after” moment that changed how I see love, support, and belonging Whether you are a medium, healer, or simply someone navigating burnout, my hope is that these reflections give you both comfort and inspiration. Sometimes healing does not come from solitude. It comes from being seen, supported, and surrounded by others who bring out the best in us. ✨ Mentions in this episode https://www.daniellesearancke.com/  • Spirit School Collective (membership community) • The Declaration program on ethics and integrity (coming this September) • Asha Frost workshop at Spirit School for the Equinox • Sacred Spirit Retreat in June 2026

The Raw Truth About Change, Fear, Courage, and Becoming Who You’re Meant to Be

In this deeply personal episode of Spirit School, I share what it’s really like to walk through massive life change while staying spiritually grounded. This is the messy, tender, transformative part of the journey we don’t often talk about. I reflect on the signs Spirit gives us before change arrives, the discomfort that often pushes us forward, and what it feels like to be in the void - the space between who we were and who we’re becoming. I also share stories I’ve never told before about stage fright, quitting my job, self-sabotage, and finally choosing courage over comfort. This episode includes a soft update on a life-changing experience I’m currently navigating. I’ll be sharing more when the time is right, but for now, I hope this conversation helps you feel less alone in your own season of transition. If you’ve been struggling to stay centered while everything shifts, this one is for you. In this episode, I talk about: • The early signs of change (and why we often resist them) • What the void really is and how to move through it • My personal relationship with fear, visibility, and self-sabotage • The importance of spiritual tools that actually work when you’re overwhelmed • Why it’s okay to take up space even when it feels unfamiliar • A soft announcement about what’s unfolding this summer Want to follow this journey in real time? Just Because You Can, Doesn’t Mean You Should: Mediumship, Capacity & Ethical Service

In this episode of Spirit School, I’m answering a beautiful question from listener Jackie, who asked how I sustain my energy as a medium -especially as a working mom starting her own animal communication business. I share the real behind-the-scenes of what it’s looked like to serve Spirit for 12+ years while raising a family, navigating burnout, recovering from an audit, and building a business rooted in ethics and capacity - not just hustle. You’ll hear me reflect on: The difference between what I can do and what I should do My energetic boundaries and why I rarely book more than 4–6 readings a week How I use my calendar as a psychic tool to know when I should and shouldn’t work The role of compassion fatigue and spiritual integrity in my decisions How I’ve diversified my work beyond readings to honour my own sustainability If you’ve ever asked yourself “How much can I really hold?”—this one’s for you.

A Spirit Message for the Courageous - What If You Said Yes Next Time?

After a healing break following surgery, I'm back at the mic sharing a heartfelt Spirit Message inspired by a listener's question: How did you get started in your work as a medium? Walking in Wholeness: Spirit Messages for This Season

Welcome back to Spirit School! This week's spirit messages come at a powerful time, aligning with the energy of the Spring Equinox. These messages are timeless, so whenever you find this episode, trust that there is something here for you. I open with a grounding practice to help you center yourself before receiving the messages. Spirit brings forward the energy of children laughing on a playground, inviting us to reconnect with the joy and lightness of being. There is a call to embrace childlike wonder, play, and wholeness, even in times of great change. I also share about the power of storytelling as a way to honor our ancestors, preserve our history, and bring healing. Spirit reminds us that even if we don’t see ourselves as part of a great legacy, every story we share carries impact. I reflect on my personal connection to York Factory, my journey of learning Swampy Cree, and the importance of speaking names to keep them alive. Spirit brings a message about looking up—literally and figuratively. When we feel burdened by life, we may stop noticing the signs all around us. This is a reminder to stand tall, raise our gaze, and reconnect with the wisdom of the natural world. Take a deep breath, integrate what resonates, and release what does not. Perfectionism Held Me Back - What I Did To Restore Balance

In this episode of Spirit School, I delve into the topic of perfectionism, a challenge I've encountered throughout my journey as an Indigenous spiritual medium. As a Virgo, a sign known for its meticulous nature, I've always been negotiating with perfectionism, which has accompanied me since I began my spiritual and mediumship development in 2013. I share how this perfectionist tendency first manifested when I set a goal of 150 practice readings before offering paid services, highlighting the pressure I felt to ensure I was ready. Through astrology and personality assessments, I've gained insights and permission slips that have helped me embrace my Virgo nature while continuing to strive for growth and healing. I also recount the transformation of my online blog into the Spirit School podcast in 2018, a journey that involved overcoming the paralyzing grip of perfectionism. A health crisis prompted me to take bold steps forward, leading to the creation of a podcast that has since blossomed into an online school and book. In exploring how perfectionism often masks underlying fears, I share techniques I've developed to push through, such as launching projects before they're "perfect" and learning through experience. By looking through the lens of love and compassion, I offer a path to overcoming fear and perfectionism, encouraging others in the spiritual space to lead by example, embrace imperfection, and evolve with the freedom and accountability that 2024 brings.
