Star Trek Stories

A podcast where we hang out with friends, watch episodes from across the Star Trek franchise, and chat about them! This is a show for both newcomers and long-time fans alike, as part of we what do here is explore perspectives on Star Trek and storytelling in general. We are currently in Phase II of our podcast, which we have titled "Spinning Off Into The Unknown." In this phase, we're exploring the larger franchise beyond the world of its most popular incarnation, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and examining how all the other shows approach their own unique takes on Star Trek. We'll go on adventures with Lieutenant Arex, listen to Kate Mulgrew laugh in the faces of her male co-stars, and see if Michael Burnham can ever truly find redemption. Covering the good, the bad, and the ugly, we'll get a look at just about everything Star Trek has to offer (except for TNG and Picard). So grab your headphones, cue up an episode, and get lost in a silly little Star Trek story with us. Mak

Reflections on The Other Star Trek Shows

And so we come to the end of our first batch episodes from Phase II. We have given our Star Trek initiate a taste of the non-TNG shows, and now it's finally time for them to rank them all from least to most interested to continue. What will the results be? Tune in to find out!!Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Ellen Lewis, & Salem Rogers.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Children of the Comet"

It's time for Children of the Corn... In Space!!! Nah, just kidding. It's just basic ole' Star Trek. And basic is right, because we like to call this series the "the blender Star Trek show," the one where if you mix up all the other ones, you get this. But does that make it too bland? Too safe? Too mediocre? Or this is actually the best show, the one with all of the franchise's greatest elements? Only time will tell. Until then, let's watch this humdinger episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.Episode discussion starts at 18:06.This is the final episode in our look at The Other Star Trek Shows.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Ellen Lewis, & Marc Nielson.Email: [email protected]: https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Babel"

This is the series that would see the Star Trek franchise ascend to the heavens... or at least it would eventually. In the early days of this towering new project, the studio execs confounded the languages of the creators, and there was much confusion as to what the series was supposed to be. But even in those unsure times, was there was yet a glimmer of hope that the creative heights would still be reached? Let's find out by trying to make sense of this early episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.Episode discussion starts at 17:18.This is episode 8/9 in our look at The Other Star Trek Shows.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Ellen Lewis, & Marc Nielson.Email: [email protected]: https://discord.gg/6ynq25ZvkhYouTube: https://youtu.be/ypGS3lXNH2g?si=yitxxC3nWHNkPBL7

    "Envoys"

You might say we are envoys of Star Trek on this podcast, spreading its good tidings of a better tomorrow. But there are some who mock the ways of Star Trek, slandering its good name with silliness and nonsense. We do not hear the blasphemers of canon and purity here, and shun their anti-Trek literature. Resist the temptation of a good, silly time by avoiding this fun episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks.Episode discussion starts at 10:50.This is episode 7/9 in our look at The Other Star Trek Shows.Hosted by Jaron Hatch & Ellen Lewis.Email: [email protected]: https://discord.gg/6ynq25ZvkhYouTube: https://youtu.be/3RqPZp9rF7o

    "The Survivor"

The Original Series may have met an untimely demise, but Star Trek would survive to see another day. However, that day turned out to be the day the cartoon version premiered. Sure it survived, but for what? A silly Saturday morning kids show? Is that truly worth living for? But before we decide that the franchise was better off dead, let's consider this still-beating episode of Star Trek: The Animated Series.Episode discussion starts at 13:00.This is episode 6/9 in our look at The Other Star Trek Shows.Hosted by Jaron Hatch & Ellen Lewis.Email: [email protected]: https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Breaking the Ice"

Upon meeting a fellow Star Trek fan, there is perhaps no better icebreaker than asking, "What's your favorite series?" Usually people will answer with The Next Generation, or maybe The Original Series or Deep Space Nine, and all will be well. However, there is always a risk that things will get awkward if someone answers... Enterprise. But maybe we're being unfair-- maybe the little prequel series that could does have something to offer. The only way to find out is to watch this leisurely episode of Star Trek: Enterprise.Episode discussion starts at 18:01.This is episode 5/9 in our look at The Other Star Trek Shows.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Ellen Lewis, & Aren Hatch.Email: [email protected]: https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Starstruck"

You better believe that I would absolutely be starstruck if I got to meet a legendary figure like Captain Janeway. However, this is Star Trek... which means that the title can literally mean being struck by a star. Never meet your heroes, I guess? Oh well, let's take the risk and fly directly into this shining episode of Star Trek: Prodigy.Episode discussion starts at 12:51.This is episode 4/9 in our look at The Other Star Trek Shows.Hosted by Jaron Hatch & Ellen Lewis.Email: [email protected]: https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Resolutions"

You know, this would be a great title for a New Year's Day episode. That said, with this episode of our show coming out in March, it would probably be more accurate to title it "Forgotten Resolutions." And speaking of not committing to what you set out to do, today we're watching the series that embodies that more than any other. So please be sure to not expect any resolutions in today's teasing episode of Star Trek: Voyager.Episode discussion starts at 18:04.This is episode 3/9 in our look at The Other Star Trek Shows.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Ellen Lewis, & Tyson Baker.Email: [email protected]: https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "The Corbomite Maneuver"

Is it a dance from the 1920's? A British rock band from the 1960's? Believe it or not, it's the official 2260's term for the classic imaginary gambit of "whatever you do bounces off of me and hurts you." Esoteric, I know, but now you'll be ready for 23rd Century Jeopardy. If you're interested in learning more about the Corbomite Maneuver, please check out this very early episode of Star Trek: The Original Series.Episode discussion starts at 19:05.This is episode 2/9 in our look at The Other Star Trek Shows.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Ellen Lewis, & Salem Rogers.Email: [email protected]: https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Kids These Days"

Back in my day, we didn't listen to podcasts or watch YouTubes. We went outside, touched grass, and yelled at clouds. Nowadays, all young people want to do is watch MTV and do the jitterbug--pure brain rot, I tell ya. Even Warp 5 isn't fast enough anymore, no, only Warp 9.99999 will do. Oh well... nothing left to do now but grab a piece of avocado toast, prepare for imminent societal collapse, and watch this premiere episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. This is the beginning of part one of Phase II of our podcast, Spinning Off Into The Unknown, in which we're examining the wider franchise beyond the world of Star Trek: The Next Generation. In this batch of episodes, we're going to be taking a look at The Other Star Trek Shows and introducing them to someone who has only seen TNG. This will be a nine episode selection comprised of episodes from: The Original Series, The Animated Series, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, Lower Decks, Prodigy, Strange New Worlds, and Starfleet Academy.Episode discussion starts at 24:53.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Ellen Lewis, & Tanner Hatch.Email: storiedstartrek @gmail.com Discord: https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    The Other Star Trek Shows

Fans of Star Trek Stories... we have returned. But what we have returned to? The show may be back, but we are no longer charting the history of the Star Trek franchise, for Phase II of the podcast is now upon us. What exactly does that mean, you ask? Venturing Through The Universe: The 100th Anniversary Holiday Special

Well, dear listeners, we have come to the conclusion of our 100 episode list, Venturing Through The Universe. And while all good things must indeed come to an end, we can still celebrate the time we had together thanks to the magic of a good old fashioned holiday special. We'll laugh... we'll reminisce... and most importantly, we'll debate the finer points of Star Trek. Alas, it's also true that this special signals the podcast being put on indefinite hiatus. But as my good friend Mister Spock once said, "There are always possibilities."Classic Trek starts at 04:34The Growing Pains Of The Next Generation starts at 28:28The TNG Renaissance starts at 41:05The TNG Glory Years starts at 58:56Deep Space Nine and the End of TNG starts at 01:19:50Voyager starts at 01:41:01The Waning Enterprise starts at 02:01:56Modern Trek starts at 02:09:30Outro starts at 02:25:20Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aaron Cole, Aren Hatch, Marc Nielson, with Tyson Baker, Ellen Lewis, Jake Barnes, Jennie Beal, Tanner Hatch, Mindy Barnes, & Andrew Nadon.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    Reflections on Modern Trek

Believe it or not, dear listeners, we have finally made it to the modern day. Star Trek '09, Discovery, Picard, Lower Decks, Prodigy, Strange New Worlds--even Short Treks--they're all in the rearview mirror now. But how successful was our pilot season? Which shows will be picked up by our audiences? Which will leave a lasting legacy? Only time will tell. In the meantime, let's examine how this current era stacks up to the others... and tease what will be coming next for the podcast.Hosted by Jaron Hatch.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Strange New Worlds"

Alright, y'all, we've been doing this for 100 episodes, how can there be anything strange or new left? What's that, you say? You're saying there are almost 900 more episodes to go?? Goodness me, how on Earth are we supposed to continue on with this trek through the stars? Will it go on forever? Or is it time to finally pull into space dock and give it a rest? These questions, and more, will probably go unanswered in this premiere episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.Episode discussion starts at 19:53.This is the final episode in our look at Modern Trek.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aaron Cole, & Andrew Nadon.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Lost and Found"

I sometimes feels like this is the Star Trek show that ended up in the lost and found. It's a shame too, it's such a little gem of a series. It just never found the right home. What about you? Do you have any room in your home for this lost little Star Trek show? You may find that it is a little bundle of joy to brighten your life. The only way to know is to open up your heart to this premiere episode of Star Trek: Prodigy.Episode discussion starts at 18:47 .This is episode 9/10 in our look at Modern Trek.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, with Cassh, Odin, Caitlin, Isiah, and Jennie.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Second Contact"

This is more like our 98th contact, but who's counting? Man, if second contact is supposed to be the unglamorous Star Trek assignment, what does that make our podcast? The lowest of the low? I mean, we are a third-rate podcast in a third-rate podcast genre, so that tracks. I mean what? No, we're awesome, whatever, shut up, you don't know me. Why don't you make yourself useful and help us watch this premiere episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks.Episode discussion starts at 13:17.This is episode 8/10 in our look at Modern Trek.Hosted by Jaron Hatch and Andrea Peterson.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "The End is the Beginning"

Despite what the title might have you believe, this is not the beginning of our coverage of this series. Having watched the first three episodes of this show, it would be more appropriate to call this, "The Beginning is the End." And not a moment too soon, as we were all starting to fall asleep trying to get through them. Unless there is something in this last one that will finally wake this show up? We can only find out by watching this act-one concluding episode of Star Trek: Picard.Episode discussion starts at 18:50.This is episode 7/10 in our look at Modern Trek.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Tyson Baker, & Ellen Lewis.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

  19. 82

    "Maps and Legends"

Please don't tell me we're going to need a map and a legend to make sense of this show. We're only two episodes into this series and we already need a guide to figure it out? This is Star Trek we're talking about, not The Silmarillion. Maybe this new, fancy-fangled Trek is just that complex... or convoluted. Oh well, let's see if we can find our way with this plot-building episode of Star Trek: Picard.Episode discussion starts at 19:06.This is episode 6/10 in our look at Modern Trek.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Ellen Lewis, & Tyson Baker.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

  20. 81

    "Remembrance"

I feel like the only time I ever hear the word "remembrance" is in the context of "in remembrance." That doesn't bode well for a series that is supposed to be revitalizing a classic character. Is it possible that this show is dead on arrival? We'll just have to do post mortem after we watch this premiere episode of Star Trek: Picard.Episode discussion starts at 18:21.This is episode 5/10 in our look at Modern Trek.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Tyson Baker, & Ellen Lewis.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Children of Mars"

Would you believe that there is a cover of a David Bowie song in this... and it ISN'T "Life on Mars?" I mean what else is there to say? I guess we can see if there is anything else to dissect in this tiny little episode of Star Trek: Short Treks.Episode discussion starts at 3:34.This is episode 4/10 in our look at Modern Trek.Hosted by Jaron Hatch.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Battle at the Binary Stars"

Hmm, I wonder what this episode could be about. Might there be a battle? Some binary stars? It's hard to say. This era of Star Trek is so subversive at times, this might end up being about be a negotiation at a single star. I guess we'll have to check our expectations and watch this prologue concluding episode of Star Trek: Discovery.Episode discussion starts at 17:06.This is episode 3/10 in our look at Modern Trek.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Rachel Murtagh, & Salem Rogers.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "The Vulcan Hello"

I wonder if a Vulcan Hello is anything like an Irish Goodbye. Instead of leaving without telling anyone, would it be arriving? You know, for how many people there are that still have never heard of this series, it seems to fit. However, is having your arrival unknown mean that it is unwelcome? If a Star Trek series falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? Regardless if it does or not, let's all still say hello to this new streaming era of the franchise as we watch this premiere episode of Star Trek: Discovery.Episode discussion starts at 18:37This is episode 2/10 in our look at Modern Trek.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Salem Rogers, & Rachel Murtagh.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    Star Trek

I know many of you out there have been clamoring for this, but I've been holding out on covering it, since watching Star Trek on a Star Trek podcast is a bit obvious. However, after being worn down by all of you, I have finally decided to give in and watch Star Trek on our show... you bunch of rubes. But will Star Trek live up to its lofty legacy? Will it make for a good episode on our Star Trek podcast? Only time will tell... or, only time travel will tell? Whatever, let's just get this over with and watch the first movie of this rebooted Star Trek film trilogy. This is the beginning of the final part of our 100 episode list, Venturing Through The Universe, in which we're examining how the Star Trek franchise has grown and changed over its history. In this batch of episodes, we're going to be looking at Modern Trek--the franchise's big splashy return after the end of its golden age. This will be a ten-episode selection comprised of the beginnings of all the different series of this era: Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Short Treks, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Prodigy, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, as well as one of the movies of the reboot film trilogy, all spanning from 2009-2022.Episode discussion starts at 32:51.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Jennie Beal, with Toby Simmons, Natty Taylor, and Dallas Fawson.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    Modern Trek

Oh boy, we're back everyone. Much like the franchise itself, we went on bit of a hiatus after Star Trek: Enterprise, but fret not! The revival is here... for better or worse. But what does this new era mean for our podcast? Will we continue on, business as usual? Or will we change it up to bring on new audiences? And now it's time for the final nerd movie in our 100 episode list, oh boy. Can you believe we've come this far, dear listeners? It's been a fun ride with all of these movies, exploring everything from space fantasy to dystopia. For our seventh and final nerd movie, we are exploring the nerdiest of nerd genres: anime. Reflections on The Waning Enterprise

Alas, Golden Age Trek has finally come to an end. We knew it would when we started, but we still had faith... of the heart. But was our faith rewarded? As the sun sets on this era, is there a magical twilight to behold? Let's all hold hands, sing "Kumbaya," and gaze into the twinkling and flickering light of The Waning Enterprise... oh, and also talk about what's coming for Nerd Movies VII.Hosted by Jaron Hatch & Marc Nielson.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    Star Trek Nemesis

Having a nemesis is bad enough, but having a Star Trek Nemesis? Oof, it doesn't get worse than that, because when Star Trek goes bad, it goes real bad. And sometimes it gets so bad, the franchise full on dies. Sad times. It's been quite the ride, watching this whole era of Star Trek, but as we learned from The Next Generation, all good things must come to an end. So join us for the end of Golden Age Trek as we watch this final TNG movie.Episode discussion starts at 31:16.This is the final episode in our look at The Waning Enterprise.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Marc Nielson, with Jake Barnes, Mindy Barnes, & Ellen Lewis.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Terra Nova"

They should have just called this "New Earth." Simple. To the point. I'm always suspicious of the latin titled episodes of Star Trek. There are some good ones to be sure, but sometimes I think they use fancy sounding names to make the stories feel like they're going to be better than they turn out to be. I guess we can determine if this is actually intelligent storytelling, or just another pretentious episode of Star Trek: Enterprise.Episode discussion starts at 17:51.This is episode 5/6 in our look at The Waning Enterprise.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Marc Nielson, & Ben Spike.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

Alright, everyone, you're not gonna believe this. On today's episode of Star Trek Stories we are going to be watching... an episode of Star Trek! Wow. How unexpected. I know by this point, it's hard to be surprised by anything, unless, of course, they jump the shark and do a "guy gets pregnant" show or something. Oh well, let's see if they can exceed our expectations in this silly episode of Star Trek: Enterprise.Episode discussion starts at 18:28.This is episode 4/6 in our look at The Waning Enterprise.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Marc Nielson, & Bee Culp.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Strange New World"

This is episode 87 of our podcast... so can this really be a strange new world? Might it be possible that this is more of a familiar old world? Well-trodden ground? Home sweet home? Can a prequel truly have any thing new to say? The only way to find out is to explore this uncharted episode of Star Trek: Enterprise.Episode discussion starts at 17:58.This is episode 3/6 in our look at The Waning Enterprise.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Marc Nielson, & Jen Gann.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Fight or Flight"

The Star Trek franchise was in a tricky spot in 2001. Instead of fleeing though, they stood their ground and fought... they had faith of the heart. But was that faith justified? Or should they have cut their loses and flown? All we can do at this point is dig in and watch this life threatening episode of Star Trek: Enterprise.Episode discussion starts at 19:01.This is episode 2/6 in our look at The Waning Enterprise.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Marc Nielson, & True Moore.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Broken Bow"

Whelp, here we are... the end of an era. The franchise has had an incredible run up until this point, but if you were here for our Voyager coverage, you know it's started to lose its aim. Does the franchise have any more shots left to shoot? Or is the quiver finally empty? The title of today's episode doesn't inspire me with much confidence, but perhaps our Star Trek arrow will surprise us yet. Hold your breath and watch, as we let fly this premiere episode of Star Trek: Enterprise. This is the beginning of part seven of our 100 episode list, Venturing Through The Universe, in which we're examining how the Star Trek franchise has grown and changed over its history. In this batch of episodes, we're going to be looking at The Waning Enterprise--the attempt to revitalize the franchise at the tail end of its golden age. "Basics, Part II"

And now we come to it. The basics of Voyager. The basics of Golden Age Trek. The basics of Star Trek as a whole. Will this fulfill the promise of the previous episode? Of this era? Of this podcast? Are we examining the basics of what makes this franchise great? Or are we lost in the basics of basicness? "Basics, Part I"

We have watched a lot of Voyager on this podcast and we have now finally found the perfect word to describe these episodes: basic. These are all as basic as basic gets for this franchise. And for the culmination of this journey, we get a two-part episode celebrating this show's basic-ness. Yay? Who knows, maybe this first part will set up something special for a change. Is Voyager a good show?--you know, the real big ones that keep you up at night. Today we ask: does Neelix make a good daytime TV talk show host? Heavy stuff. If you had scanned us for lifesigns a couple of episodes ago, we would have come up as brain dead. But you know, that last one was actually pretty good. This show might have a pulse after all! But is this next one going to keep our hearts beating? Or it will break them? Have your defibrillators ready as we watch this life-affirming episode of Star Trek: Voyager.Episode discussion starts at 18:31.This is episode 13/17 in our look at Voyager.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aren Hatch, & Tyson Baker.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Meld"

These episodes really are beginning to meld together. This show has got to shake things up. I'm not saying someone has to die. I'm not saying we have to kill someone. I'm not saying we have to straight up murder a guy, just to boost the ratings and make things interesting. But it wouldn't hurt... but whatever--never mind--let's just watch this deadly episode of Star Trek: Voyager.Episode discussion starts at 17:57 .This is episode 12/17 in our look at Voyager.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aren Hatch, & Andrew Nadon.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Alliances"

What an evocative title. So full of nuance. What could it mean? Is it possible that this episodes features... I don't know, an alliance of some kind? Or is it saying something else? Or does it literally just mean alliances? It's hard to know. Let us join forces... build some sort of alliance...and together uncover the true meaning of this perplexing episode of Star Trek: Voyager.Episode discussion starts at 17:30 .This is episode 11/17 in our look at Voyager.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aren Hatch, & Tyson Baker.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Maneuvers"

Have the showrunners finally learned some maneuvers that will help them steer this show to where it needs to go? Or have they simply gotten better at piloting around all those pesky consequences they seem dead set on avoiding? Hell, at this point, I'd take barreling into nonsense over being set adrift like this show so often is. Let's plot a course and see where we end up in this hopefully not directionless episode of Star Trek: Voyager.Episode discussion starts at 17:12 .This is episode 10/17 in our look at Voyager.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aren Hatch, & Tyson Baker.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Cold Fire"

How much you wanna bet they got the name of this episode from Icy Hot? If that's true, does that mean we're about get a pain reliever? Is this going to provide us much needed alleviation from the excruciating mediocrity of this series? Probably not. Knowing this show, cold fire probably just means neutral... how exciting. Who knows, maybe our cold hearts will be thawed by this face melting episode of Star Trek: Voyager.Episode discussion starts at 18:23.This is episode 9/17 in our look at Voyager.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aren Hatch, & Abbie Drage.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Elogium"

"It appears we have lost our sex appeal, Captain." Do you think the writers realized in that moment that the Trek franchise had lost its own sex appeal? I mean, who decided that naming an episode about space sperm, "Elogium," was sexy? I know this show can feel pretty sterile at times, but this is getting ridiculous. Oh well, if we can't get a rise out of it, maybe we can at least get a laugh from this hopefully titillating episode of Star Trek: Voyager.Episode discussion starts at 18:38.This is episode 8/17 in our look at Voyager.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aren Hatch, & Breanne Norling.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Faces"

Star Trek wears lots of different faces over the course of its history: The Original Series, Deep Space Nine, Lower Decks. Some of the faces are stunningly beautiful, while others are not so pretty, but it can be hard to look at both ugliness and beauty. Fortunately for us, we're still staring into the franchise's most average face, so easy viewing ahead... unless, this is one of those times they get fancy (or horrific) with makeup. Shield your eyes and brace yourself for this face-swapping episode of Star Trek: Voyager.Episode discussion starts at 18:22.This is episode 7/17 in our look at Voyager.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aren Hatch, & Kait Wright.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "State of Flux"

It certainly feels like the franchise is in a state of flux at this point in our watch list, at least in terms of overall quality. Sure, we're still in Golden Age Trek, but I can't help but feel we've lost a step since the glory days of TNG. Much like the eponymous starship, is this incarnation of the franchise truly lost? Or will things start turning around soon? Let's find out in this hopefully not backstabbing episode of Star Trek: Voyager.Episode discussion starts at 18:00.This is episode 6/17 in our look at Voyager.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aren Hatch, & Tyson Baker.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "Prime Factors"

Oh no, it's a math episode. And not just any kind of math, mind you, but ethical math, the messiest kind. Unfortunately, I was never very good at math--that's why I'm a podcast host instead of a successful human being--so we might be heading into ethically dubious territory with this one. Then again, maybe it's our intrepid crew that'll be the ones wading into murky waters, while we end up with the moral high ground. I guess we'll just have to do the philosophical calculations in this rule breaking episode of Star Trek: Voyager.Episode discussion starts at 18:08.This is episode 5/17 in our look at Voyager.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aren Hatch, & Ananda Spike.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

    "The Cloud"

This isn't just any cloud, mind you... this is THE cloud, the definitive article. And that's quite the statement, because as we all know, every other Star Trek story is about a mysterious cloud. So, in a way, this could very well be the ULTIMATE Star Trek. Or maybe not. I guess we'll have to find out by probing the depths of this cloudy episode of Star Trek: Voyager.Episode discussion starts at 18:33.This is episode 4/17 in our look at Voyager.Hosted by Jaron Hatch, Aren Hatch, & Rachel Leonard.Email us at [email protected] our Discord Server at https://discord.gg/6ynq25Zvkh

ABOUT THIS SHOW

Mak
