Qui-Gon Jinn had a girlfriend. Her name was Tahl, a Jedi Knight he trained with, and in the old Jedi Apprentice books he falls for her, breaks the Jedi Order's rule against attachment, and lies about it to everyone including himself. It starts with a vision of her in danger that he hides from the Council and from her. I covered this in a video almost 8 or 9 years ago. When she goes undercover on a dangerous mission alone, he defies the Jedi Council to chase her across the galaxy, years before he ever defies them over Anakin. On the planet he finally admits the truth, that she isn't just a friend or a fellow Jedi, she's his heart, and the two of them pledge themselves to each other against everything they're supposed to be. Then the trap closes. Tahl is taken, and across the books that follow, the loss pulls Qui-Gon to the edge of the dark side for revenge. It's the same trap that takes Anakin down, and Qui-Gon lived it first. This is yet another example of how amazing Qui-Gon Jinn would have been to help Anakin Skywalker through his life and guide him in all his struggles with his Mother and Padme. Ian McDiarmid who played Emperor Palpatine / Darth Sidious has revealed that him and George discussed a Palpatine show back in the day before he sold Lucasfilm. The show would encompass Palpatine after Revenge of the Sith (maybe some flashbacks of Plagueis would be cool) and we would have gotten a more drama style show on the politics of the Empire. Allegedly, Star Wars has lost 85% of its fan base, but that's only when comparing The Force Awakens box office to The Mandalorian and Grogu. Clever article title but to be fair, that's just not accurate. While Disney Star Wars has definitely alienated its core audience over the years, I don't think it's a fair comparison being made here. I do think, however, that more fans are being pushed away with bad stories by the day, than what Lucasfilm will admit to, at least under Kathleen Kennedy. Hopefully, Dave Filoni has a plan going forwards which we will discuss in the next video. Karl Urban explains that fans who talk about shows and movies that didn't go the way they wanted shouldn't be called toxic (if they are just speaking normally), but rather should be seen as passionate fans who CARE about the media being created. I think this is such an important topic in today's era since everything is so politically charged to the point that you HAVE to like or dislike something in order to tow in line with the machine. It's really simple. If you like or dislike something primarily based on the story, character development and continuity with lore, it means you're a passionate nerd and the executives at Disney, Lucasfilm, Marvel, or any studio, should take what you say to heart and think deeper about it rather than discarding you as a toxic fan if you're just expressing your thoughts normally. In my day, it was more of an argument about if you understood Star Wars or not...Unlike today where your entire personality and quality as a human is decided whether you liked the Acolyte or not. Acolyte star Manny Jacinto says that the people who didn't like the show are just keyboard warriors and the loudest ones online. I didn't like the show. I thought it was an absolute mockery of Star Wars, and so did many others. I provide detailed reasons as to why this show was objectively bad in the Star Wars mythos. I hope one day we can all get to a point where if you provide good reasonable points as to why you dislike a piece of media, then it ends there. You don't automatically become alt right or alt left or an ist and phobe. I can't stand that logic, it's completely void of reason. Vader Episode 2 is complete. I will rent a theatre in LA (open to NY or FL as well but for now, LA is the choice unless a great theatre opens up elsewhere that is too good to pass up) I and our small team have created something we believe honors George Lucas' vision and characters in this continuation of Darth Vader coming to terms with his new life and letting go of Anakin Skywalker (as much as he can until Return of the Jedi). The one to test him the most on this journey is Mace Windu, who will stop at nothing to bring an end to the Sith, starring TC Carson and Jesse Gomez. Obsession has grossed over 200M at the box office, becoming more profitable than The Mandalorian and and Grogu while costing a fraction of it. It was a spin on 'be careful what you wish for" in a somewhat "romantic" focus between Bear and Nikki. I personally think Bear was the one to blame for all of this. While his intentions weren't to get this dark, he did play with autonomy and when she asked to be freed from this curse, he simply walked away, sealing himself as the true villain of the story. Marcia Lucas has passed away. She edited the original Star Wars and won an Oscar for it alongside Paul Hirsch and Richard Chew. She's the one who told George Lucas to let Obi-Wan die, cut the Death Star trench run out of 40,000 feet of footage, added the ticking clock for the Death Star firing on Yavin, and kept the kiss for luck between Luke and Leia. A New Hope doesn't work without her, and most people don't even know her name. In this video I want to talk about what she really gave us. Rest in peace, Marcia. Thank you for everything. The Mandalorian and Grogu has officially hit a record (according to online publications) for the biggest Star Wars box office drop off in its second week. With about 70% of a dip, The Mandalorian and Grogu doesn't look like it will make it's money back, at least from the theatrical release. Merchandise and Disney Plus surely will cover the cost over time, however this doesn't seem to be a box office success, unnfortunately. I blame the previous direction that Kathleen Kennedy steered Star Wars and Lucasfilm in which led us to right here, apathy. Let's see how they can fix this issue going forwards. I want Star Wars to always win, and in order to do that, we must have stories that are meaningful and make you want to go see these films. We need concrete planning, outlines and story development. The Mandalorian and Grogu got dethroned by a YouTuber's new movie called Obsession which has grossed 100M while costing 750k. I personally feel any Star Wars movie in theatres should never be dethroned by any other film. It's remarkable that people are responding well to independently made movies, just like George Lucas. The Mandalorian and Grogu was made to put a movie out that stands alone and isn't tied to anything else in the overall story. That was the intention. I think it's fine, however to be the first film in 7 years after how Mandalorian Season 2 took us to such great heights, then crashed them in Season 3, then gave us this film, seems a bit of a pointless Star Wars roller coaster ride to me. I was fine with Mandalorian and Grogu, but I am tired of them making stuff that's so surface level. It's time to get into the lore, stay consistent, and make something really moving like George Lucas - THAT MATTERS to the overall story. Rotta the Hutt was originally saved by Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker in The Clone Wars. We now see him in the Mando movie, fully grown and trying to break out of Jabba the Hutt's shadow. The Mandalorian and Grogu movie was a side quest with a theatrical budget. Nothing else to really breakdown or go deep with. More or less pointless in driving the characters to new heights or new depth that we haven't seen before. I believe this movie was meant to be just another fun adventure side mission without encroaching on any plot points or expanding any character development whatsoever. Overall fun and entertaining in the first half, the second half dragged and made me question the run time.
