Pray like it depends on Jesus, and work as if it depends on you. Jesus has blazed a trail, making a way for us to experience all the good that God has for us. Simply claiming to be a Christian and actually having a relationship with Jesus are two different things. Without a relationship, there is nothing; it’s a partnership that takes two. Today, Pastor Terry teaches us how delighted God is when we put our faith in Him and diligently seek Him. When we move in God's will in obedience to Him, He will reward us.

As soon as we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are given the opportunity at “Promise Land living”. When we surrender our lives to Jesus and become fully alive disciples in Him, all the promises that God has made to us can be ours. Today, Pastor Terry teaches us that the Lord wants our lives to be full of happiness, victory, and fruitfulness while still here on earth. Don’t forfeit the good that God wants for you by being disobedient. Walk after the will of God and take hold of what’s been promised to you.

This world can swallow us up in an instant. The fleshly urge to want to fit in with those around us can change our lives, leaving us spiritually lost and misguided. The things we once did for good now become prideful acts of selfishness to get ahead and be recognized. Today, Pastor Terry teaches us the importance of sticking to the priorities that God has called us to, regardless of what’s happening in the world around us. As the body of Christ, we are called to support one another in taking care of our spiritual health.

In the Old Testament age, they did not have Bibles readily available. If the people were struggling spiritually, they had to see a Levite. Having been entrusted with the spiritual health of the people, God scattered the Levites throughout the nation. If the people needed spiritual guidance, they could visit a Levite within 10miles of their city. Today, Pastor Terry teaches us about the importance of the Church and his belief that each one has been strategically placed by God for a specific purpose.

In today’s message from Pastor Terry, we’ll examine the Cities of Refuge we find described in the book of Joshua. These locations were strategically scattered throughout the country for easy access. The roads were wide and kept clear to make sure that the person seeking refuge was uninhibited in getting to safety. This offers us a beautiful parallel with God’s design for His Church. We’re meant to be places of spiritual refuge for all who deserve death because of sin, and all should feel welcome.

Capital punishment… Sorry if you were hoping for a lighthearted topic today. For some, it is an easy topic. If you intentionally kill someone, you’ve earned death for yourself. But what about grace? Has this changed because of Christ? What about the person who does the executing? Are they also then deserving of death? As Pastor Terry examines what Scripture says about this matter, we’ll be confronted with just how serious it is and just how deeply God values the life He’s given to humanity.

Far too many of us live very entitled lives, much like we’ll witness in today’s study. When we think about Joseph, we remember a man who endured great hardship, but because of his faith, God used him in astounding ways. Yet, one generation later, we find his sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, had grown greedy and ungrateful. As Pastor Terry points out, their entitlement and selfishness killed their progress, and instead of showing gratitude for God's blessings, they chose a path of destruction.

If you’ve seen Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or read the book, there’s a character named Violet Beauregarde (Bo-re-gard) who balloons into a giant blueberry after greedily eating some untested gum she’d been warned against. That’s the image that comes to mind as Pastor Terry examines today’s passage. Joseph’s sons, Ephraim (Eff-ray-em) and Manasseh (Meh-nass-uh), allowed their selfish greed to push out their gratitude. Instead of seeing what God had already given them, they just wanted more.

The phrase goes, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because of your youth,” but rarely does anyone talk about how the elderly get the same treatment! I mean, when’s the last time you expected something great out of someone older? In today’s message, Pastor Terry says God’s not done with the elderly; in fact, He has a lot in store for their lives! If you’re older, remember that God still has a plan for your life! If you’re faithful to Him, the opportunities will come to serve and make an impact on your community.

How long does it take to lose trust in someone when they don’t deliver on their promises? I would guess that it isn’t too long… Usually, when someone promises us something, we expect results right away. Today, Pastor Terry tells us the story of Caleb and Joshua and how patiently Caleb waited for the Lord's promise to come to fruition. How often do you get impatient with God? His promises always come true, but it’s on His timing. He knows all and will deliver on His promises when the time is right.

Have you ever drunk water that’s been tainted by another drink? The water doesn’t taste pure and has a faint hint of something, and almost immediately, you can tell it’s not good water! The only way to fix it is to dump out the water and clean the cup! Today, Pastor Terry says that when you accept Jesus into your life, you’re promised an inheritance and are made new through Christ. Just like the water, you were once stained with sin, but with Christ, you are a new creation! You’re free through His blood!

When you start a farm, one of the first things you must do is till the soil. By doing this, you get out all the rocks that might be hidden and make natural fertilizer for the crops to grow on! Can you imagine how hard it would be to farm if you didn’t start with this? Yet a lot of you do this in your everyday life. Instead of getting rid of the sin in your life, you let it sit and dwell under the surface. Today, Pastor Terry says that when Caleb got his land, he still had to work it and rid it of enemies that were inside.

Have you ever seen a mother bear protect her cub? It’s one of the most terrifying things if you’re on the wrong end of it. The mom will do anything to protect her cub from danger. Today, Pastor Terry says that as believers, you must be active and run into darkness and share the hope of the Gospel with others. You can’t just sit on the sidelines; some people are in danger of being separated from God for eternity. Be active in sharing the Gospel, and who knows, you might change someone’s life.

We’ve all seen this: a team is losing by a lot, and it’s not just because the other teams better, it’s because they’re playing badly. In some scenarios, the losing team finds its mojo, and its star player comes in to save the day and redeem them from their poor game. In today’s message, Pastor Terry says you’re redeemed through Christ. You did nothing to deserve this, but God, who so richly loves you, sent His Son down to save you from eternal separation. All you have to do is choose to follow Him.

Can you imagine if a murderer were on trial and all the evidence pointed towards them being the murderer, but the judge looked and said, “You’re free!” I think we would all agree that would be outrageous! Today, Pastor Terry says there’s no way that we can save ourselves, because just like that murderer, we’re all guilty of sinning. That’s why God sent His Son for you. He wants to allow you to be free from the bondage of sin and alive through the work of Christ on the cross! All you have to do is trust in Him and believe!

When Steve Jobs created the iPhone, he had full authority over what happened with the product. If he said the phones should be a sphere, the whole company would build spheres. But it would be weird if he said something and no one did anything about it. Why? Because he created the iPhone! Today, Pastor Terry says that because God created the universe, He can do what He wants! And yet, He chose to send His Son for you so that you can live and be with Him for eternity! Trust in His love for you today!

We live in a world where culture is constantly shifting. What people celebrate, believe, and call truth seems to change all the time. But while culture changes, God never does. His Word is still true, still trustworthy, and still relevant today. Pastor Terry will explain to you today that you can’t build your life on opinions or trends that come and go. Stay grounded in Scripture instead of being swayed by every changing voice around you. Stand on God’s truth, and you’ll have something steady to hold onto.

God wants to use each of us for something bigger than ourselves. He calls us to represent Him and help accomplish His mission in the world. But whenever God begins moving through someone’s life, resistance often follows. There will be opposition, discouragement, and spiritual battles along the way. Today, Pastor Terry will tell you that the presence of enemies doesn’t mean you’re failing—it may mean you’re making an impact. So stay close to God, and remember that He is fighting for you.

Our relationship with God was never meant to survive on occasional moments. Just like any relationship, connection grows through time spent together. That’s why prayer matters. Before you move forward, you need to ask, “Lord, are You in this?” God wants your dependence. A humble heart keeps seeking Him, even after the victories come.

I love the hymn “Amazing Grace.” It says, “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found; was blind, but now I see.” If you knew my past… You wouldn’t ever want to hear my voice again. But God’s grace saved me from the grave I was digging for myself. In today’s message, Pastor Terry teaches that it doesn’t matter what you’ve done, or where you’ve been… God wants to see you alive. He wants you to be set free from the death and destruction that this society brings.

Many people like to think of God as a God of love, and that they should embrace that love. They begin to use the word “love” to excuse the behavior of others or to excuse their own behavior. In today’s message, Pastor Terry reminds us that the God of the bible is both the God of love and judgment. He is righteous and holy, and doesn’t approve of wrongdoing in the name of love. Pastor Terry teaches that you deserve God’s judgment on your life, but that He also took your judgment on the cross out of love.

Have you ever noticed that when kids get braces, they tend to become a little shyer? Conversely, whenever they get a new outfit they really like, do you see how much more the glow? Their attitude and actions are directly supported by their confidence. In today’s message, Pastor Terry teaches that you should have confidence as well. You know how the story ends… You know that Jesus is the ultimate victor. How will that affect your attitude or your actions? How will you fight from victory?

Who doesn’t love a good underdog story? You see it all the time in the entertainment industry: the famous story of Philly boxer Rocky, the tale of little Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings, and the history of Daniel Ruettiger overcoming the odds to play for Notre Dame in Rudy. In today’s message, Pastor Terry teaches that God often uses unexpected heroes to deliver unexpected results. How might He use you to do the unexpected? Maybe God’s writing your underdog story.

When those Friday night lights turn on and the players hit the field, there’s only one way they will see the scoreboard end in their favor… by working together. If each teammate is trying to do their own thing, the defense will crumble, the quarterback will be sacked, and the other team will see the victory in the end. In today’s message, Pastor Terry warns against trying to be a lone wolf. He challenges you to put God’s will above your own, and allow Him to lead you to the victory that you can’t achieve on your own.

If I’ve learned anything in my adult life, it’s that we all have “Jerichos” to face. We have these monumental challenges that seem overwhelming, but that we need to conquer… those obstacles that God has called us to overcome. In today’s message, Pastor Terry teaches that God will help you conquer your Jerichos if you allow Him. In doing so, He may ask you to approach it in a way that isn’t quite what you expected, but if you trust Him and obey, you’ll see the walls come crumbling down.

I’d love to live the life of those people you see in TV commercials. They don’t have a care in the world. They are just all smiles, happy, and surrounded by the ones they love most. If only nothing bad ever happened, right? In today’s message, Pastor Terry teaches that it’s tempting to blame God when things don’t go your way, but don’t forget that God is right there with you. He didn’t turn His back on you. In fact, He loves you more than you could possibly imagine, despite what you’re going through.

One of my favorite vacations growing up was visiting Washington, D.C. The amount of history, museums, and monuments is incredible. I loved being able to walk the National Mall and witness all of the reminders of the sacrifices made by our forefathers. It was just chilling. In today’s message, Pastor Terry teaches that God, too, leaves His people reminders of all that He’s done for them… that He’s done for you. God has given you sacraments like baptism and communion to remember His sacrifice.


Following Jesus isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. The commands we’re given challenge every part of our human nature, but they reveal the heart of Christ within us. And Pastor Terry reminds you today that victory begins when your eyes stay fixed on Jesus rather than on your circumstances. Whatever struggle you’re facing, don’t let the problem be bigger than the Savior. When Jesus becomes the center of your life, He also becomes the center of your battles, worries, and decisions.


God doesn’t always reveal the whole plan in advance, but He is always faithful to His Word. Imagine the courage it took for those priests to walk towards a flooded river with confidence in God alone. Pastor Terry teaches you today that faith often requires stepping forward before the breakthrough appears. Maybe you’re even standing at your own “Jordan” today, wondering how things will work out. But be encouraged, because when God leads you forward, He already has the miracle prepared.


Wow, the life-changing power of redemption through Christ! Before we knew Jesus, we were trapped in slavery to sin, fear, and the darkness of this world. But God didn’t leave us without hope. Jesus came, died on the cross, and rose again to pay the price for our freedom. Pastor Terry teaches you today that redemption is more than rescue…it’s transformation. When you trust in Jesus, you step out of darkness and into the light of His kingdom. The old life no longer defines you because Christ has made you new.


Hope can rise even in the most unlikely places. With the Israelites camped just beyond the Jordan River, fear spread through Jericho, but faith grew in Rahab’s heart. She cried out for rescue and longed to be a part of God’s people. Then at just the right moment, two Israelite spies arrived at her door. Pastor Terry shares with you today that God often answers prayers in unexpected ways. Even in uncertain times, God sees every heart that turns toward Him in faith and puts His divine mercy to work.


The church exists for a clear and unchanging purpose: to share the gospel and make disciples. The mission of the church is not centered on entertainment, politics, or cultural movements, but on proclaiming the truth of God’s Word and leading people into a growing relationship with Christ. Pastor Terry reminds you today that every ministry, every message, and every act of service should point back to that calling. At the press of a button on your phone, you can see and talk to someone on the other side of the world. You have instant access to your friends and family, and strangers, through a multitude of messaging and social media platforms. Yet, as Pastor Terry points out in today’s message, we’re living in a time of extreme social isolation and loneliness. We need to be intentional in this area as believers. We need to be reaching out to others and prioritizing relationships over comfort and convenience.

What an amazing privilege to help lead a lost soul to the peace, purpose, and security found in Jesus Christ! If you’ve experienced this privilege, it’s unforgettable. Sadly, it’s become more and more uncommon for many believers. It’s much more comfortable to form our own communities and avoid contact with the unbelievers around us. As Pastor Terry will remind us in today’s message, our calling to reach the lost with the Good News of Jesus needs to be central to our lives as His followers.

We like to think we have a lot more to do with our own success than we actually do. As Pastor Terry will remind us in today’s message, every good thing we accomplish is due to the goodness of God. All we can really do is step forward in faith; the rest is up to Him. Instead of boasting over what we’ve done for God, we need to point the glory back to Him. He’s provided all of the strength, abilities, and talents that are required to carry out His good and perfect will in this broken world.

This command from Jesus was given to the disciples who had given up everything to follow Him as He walked the earth and carried out His earthly ministry. By default, when we choose to follow Him here and now, we’re stepping into that same mission. It applies to us as well. As Pastor Terry will challenge us today, we’re called to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the whole world. That includes your next-door neighbor just as much as it does the primitive tribe in a far-off jungle village.

The Bible doesn’t prohibit smoking. It may not have existed in the same form as it does today, but that hasn’t stopped some groups from outright condemning it as a sin. While the negative health effects are a very good reason not to smoke, the Bible does not directly condemn the practice. As Pastor Terry examines numerous “grey areas” in today’s message, we’ll be reminded that our love and unity in Christ should be the motivating factor behind what we do or don’t do.

One result of our prideful, selfish nature is that we’re very good at finding ways to disagree with each other. This is why we have thousands of different Christian denominations. If there’s something even remotely unclear in Scripture – or not in Scripture at all – it easily becomes grounds for those who want to see it one way to attack those who don’t. As Pastor Terry continues our study in Romans today, he’ll remind us of the importance of unity when dealing with these grey issues.

What is the Christian standard concerning civil disobedience? In his message today, Pastor Terry explains that Christians are called to submit to those in authority unless such authority contradicts God’s word. Many biblical examples prioritized obedience to God over compliance with human laws. We must be prepared to uphold what is right and accept any consequences that result. When a nation acts unjustly, it is sometimes necessary to stand for truth. This must always be done with respect.

Submission to those in authority is often challenging, particularly when we disagree with our leaders. Today, Pastor Terry discusses how Paul, Peter, and Jesus each instruct us to respect individuals in governmental leadership. To follow this teaching, we must trust in God’s sovereignty, recognizing that God appoints nations and permits their rulers to rise and fall. Submitting to our authorities reflects our submission to God. We should exemplify Christian character by obeying the law.

What should our attitude be toward serving the Lord? We often perceive participation in God’s work as burdensome. In today’s message, Pastor Terry emphasizes that service should be motivated by gratitude and carried out with passion. Scripture encourages diligence and a spirit of eagerness in service. Anticipate the opportunities God provides to participate in His work. Serve the Lord with fervor rather than reluctance. Embrace your purpose and recognize that it is an honor to serve the Lord.

The Bible provides explicit guidance for cultivating a strong relationship with God. In today’s message, Pastor Terry emphasizes the importance of maintaining a relationship with Christ. He reiterates the apostle Paul’s instruction to renew the mind, soul, and body, beginning with daily Bible reading. This practice will transform and impact one’s life. Use a systematic approach or a daily Bible reading plan. Such renewal of the mind is described as an integral aspect of reasonable spiritual service.
