The Condition of your Heart: Nurture the Soil by Ps Daniella Kafouris

Last week, I shared insights about the apple seed and the apple tree, emphasizing that growth takes time and requires patience. An apple tree, for instance, takes between 10 and 15 years to mature and bear fruit. During this waiting period, many might doubt the growth process, often asking if anything is actually happening in the garden. It's crucial to understand that growth can occur even in invisible ways, especially in dark times. We also discussed the biblical teachings from Galatians, highlighting the choice between living in the flesh or living in the spirit. This leads us to recognize that the fruits we produce are indicators of the health of our roots. We often focus too much on visible results (the fruits) without acknowledging the foundational processes that enable growth. Before planting an apple seed, the soil must be prepared meticulously. The environment plays a significant role in determining how well a seed can grow. If planted in rocky soil or deprived of water and sunlight, the seed struggles to establish its roots and may never flourish. In Matthew 13, the parable of the sower illustrates this concept effectively. Seeds that fall on the path get eaten by birds, those on rocky ground wither in the sun, and thorns choke the ones that sprout. However, seeds that land on good soil yield abundant fruit. This parable teaches us that our hearts are like soil. If the condition of our hearts is not right, we may miss out on the nourishment that God's word provides. The parable explains that if the seeds fall on a hard path, akin to a hard heart, they cannot penetrate, and the enemy will easily snatch them away. Seeds that spring up on rocky ground may initially thrive but lack the depth needed to withstand challenges. Similarly, seeds among thorns may begin to grow but are eventually choked out by worldly distractions and cares.Jesus emphasizes the importance of a solid foundation, stating that while troubles will come, we must take heart as He has overcome the world. To grow and yield fruit, we need to ensure that our hearts are conducive to receiving and nurturing God's word. By understanding the parable, we learn that hearing the word is not enough; we must also comprehend it and apply it to our lives. The Greek word for "understand" means to connect the dots. Just like I learned to apply my mind while working in South Africa, we too must engage with the teachings we receive. If we recognize that our hearts resemble different types of soil, we can ask ourselves what we need to change to foster growth in our lives.

The Algorithm of Life: Love, the final chapter by Ps Michael Kafouris

**You think love is just a feeling? Think again.** 💔In today’s discussion, we’re unpacking the second commandment: *“You shall love your neighbour as yourself.”* But what does it truly mean to love? It’s not just about feelings; it’s about action. When we love others without expecting anything in return, we’re embodying true compassion. Let’s dive deeper: What does free will have to do with love?We often think we’re forced to act kindly, but love should come from a place of choice. When you choose to love, it’s powerful. In 1 John 3:16-18, we’re reminded that love is not just words; it’s actions. Don’t just say you care—show it! Let’s challenge ourselves to look beyond our own needs and genuinely seek the good for others. **How are you showing love today?** Remember, sometimes the hardest part about loving is letting go of past disappointments. #LoveInAction #TrueCompassion #FaithAndFreeWill #LoveThyNeighbor #SpiritualGrowth

    The Algorithm of Life - Part 3 - The MIND - Ps Michael Kafouris #soul #telosministries #love

Are your morals holding you back from true love? 🤔 Let's dive into why valuing what God values changes everything. Tag someone who needs this perspective! Today, we're wrapping up our series on the algorithm of life. We’ve explored love, heart, soul, and now, the mind. The mind isn’t just memory; it’s your intelligence and critical thinking. When we rely solely on our intelligence to love God, we miss the mark. True love requires a transformation of the mind – a shift from our moral standards to aligning with God's values. Consider Romans 12:2 - we are transformed by the renewing of our minds! This means embracing an open mind, questioning our beliefs, and valuing what God values. True Christianity isn’t about scales of good vs. bad; it's about faith and relationship, not performance. In John 3:16, we see that God's love isn't conditional on our actions. It’s a gift, not something earned. Let’s shift our thinking: it’s about relationship, not rule-keeping. The journey starts with the mind, aligning our thoughts with God’s truth to find true love and fulfillment. So, what are you valuing today?

The Algorithm of Life - Part 2 - The SOUL - Ps Michael Kafouris

    # The Algorithm of Life: Understanding the Heart and SoulDiscover how to align your heart and soul with God's purpose. Learn the significance of love and the true essence of life in this insightful guide. In today’s fast-paced world, many of us find ourselves grappling with the complexities of life, often feeling disconnected from our true selves. Have you ever wondered how to navigate these challenges? In this post, we’ll explore the concept of the "Algorithm of Life," focusing on how to love God with all your heart and soul, and what this means for your personal growth and spiritual journey.## Understanding the Heart: Your Personal DatabaseThe foundation of our emotional and spiritual life begins with the heart. The heart, as described in the scriptures, is not just a physical organ but a vital component of our being that stores our values, beliefs, and experiences.- **Why This Matters**: Our heart acts as a database of information, influencing how we think and behave.- **How to Cultivate a Healthy Heart**: - **Self-Reflection**: Regularly assess what thoughts and feelings you are storing. - **Purging Negativity**: Identify and let go of harmful thoughts and beliefs. - **Filling with Positivity**: Replace negative thoughts with uplifting and constructive ones. For example, the concept of Agapau (love) emphasizes sincere appreciation and high regard for others. When you approach life with love, you create a positive algorithm that influences your interactions and decisions.## The Soul: The Processor of Your LifeWhile the heart stores information, the soul acts as the processor, determining how we think, will, and feel.- **Why This Matters**: Your soul is the essence of life, encompassing your purpose and desires.- **How to Nourish Your Soul**: - **Engage in Passionate Prayer**: Connect with the divine through heartfelt communication. - **Seek Purpose**: Identify what truly drives you and aligns with God’s will. - **Practice Mindfulness**: Stay present and aware of your thoughts and feelings.Think of your soul as the CPU of your life. It processes everything from your desires to your moral compass. Just as a computer needs regular updates, your soul requires continuous nurturing and alignment with God's teachings.## The Intersection of Heart and Soul: Finding Your True IdentityUnderstanding the relationship between your heart and soul is crucial for personal growth and spiritual fulfillment.- **Why This Matters**: Recognizing how these two aspects intertwine helps you discern your true motives and intentions.- **How to Harmonize Heart and Soul**: - **Deepen Your Connection with God**: Allow the Spirit to guide your heart and soul. - **Reflect on Personal Experiences**: Consider how past experiences have shaped your identity. - **Embrace Change**: Be open to transformation as you align more closely with your true self. For instance, the story of the Prodigal Son illustrates this intersection beautifully. Initially, the son sought freedom and fulfillment away from his father’s house. However, upon hitting rock bottom, he realized that his true identity and purpose were found in returning home. This narrative emphasizes the need for self-awareness and the courage to seek a deeper connection with God.## Key Takeaways- **Love as an Algorithm**: Your approach to love shapes your interactions and influences your life’s direction.- **Heart and Soul Connection**: Understanding the relationship between these two elements is vital for personal and spiritual growth.- **Embrace Your Identity**: Recognizing who you are in Christ is essential for living an abundant life.

Are you stuck thinking you have to earn your way to God? Let's break that misconception today. Remember, true freedom comes from understanding that your worth isn’t based on performance but on faith in Christ. Mary and the Alabaster Box - Ps Donna Antonie

Are you pouring out your life for the right reasons? Here's what the story of Mary and the alabaster box taught me... Mary poured out a year's worth of wages in one moment, showing her love for Jesus. Imagine the courage it took for her to waste something so valuable in the eyes of others. But it was her love and gratitude that drove her to this act. After witnessing her brother Lazarus come back to life, she knew she had to honor Jesus. In our own lives, are we pouring out our time and resources on what truly matters? Or are we caught up in the noise of worldly knowledge and opinions? Let’s refocus on the one thing that truly matters—our relationship with Christ. Remember, the enemy wants to distract you with ‘knowledge’ that leads nowhere. Choose the Tree of Life instead of the tree of knowledge. Are you ready to let go of the distractions and embrace the path of faith? It's time to shine and share His light with the world! ✨

A Righteous Lifestyle - Ps Michael Kafouris

    # Living a Righteous Lifestyle: Understanding Grace Over LawLiving a righteous lifestyle is a topic that resonates with many, yet can feel overwhelming due to the extensive laws outlined in the Old Testament. If you’ve ever felt burdened by the idea of maintaining a perfect relationship with God, you’re not alone. In this post, we'll explore the complex nature of righteousness, the historical context of the laws, and how understanding grace can transform your spiritual life.## The Challenge of Righteousness in the Old TestamentIn the Old Testament, righteousness was often equated with strict adherence to numerous laws. The Torah, which consists of the first five books of the Bible, outlines a staggering 613 commandments. This includes 248 positive commands and 365 prohibitions. Many people struggle just to maintain a few commitments in their daily lives, so the thought of following all these laws can be daunting. ### Understanding the Law: A Burden or a Guide? The Old Testament laws were intended to guide the Israelites in their relationship with God. However, as discussed in Deuteronomy 27:26, failing to uphold these laws led to curses rather than blessings. This can create a sense of defeat for those trying to live a righteous life, often leading to the misconception that they are cursed if they fail to follow these rules perfectly. Living under such a law-heavy system might lead one to feel that maintaining a relationship with God is impossible. Many people, including the Gentiles, felt excluded from this covenant, believing that righteousness was reserved for the Jewish people. The rituals, animal sacrifices, and various dietary and clothing laws were not just guidelines—they felt like an insurmountable mountain to climb.### The Problem of the TempleAdding to the complexity is the fact that many of these laws required the existence of the temple in Jerusalem. With the temple's destruction in 70 AD, a significant portion of these laws became impossible to practice. This left many observant Jews searching for ways to maintain their faith without the physical structure that had once guided their worship. ## The Shift from Law to Grace Amidst these challenges, the New Testament introduces a radical shift in understanding righteousness. Jesus Christ spoke of Himself as the true temple and fulfilled the law through His life, death, and resurrection. This shift from law to grace is crucial for understanding how to live a righteous lifestyle today.### Grace: The Key to Righteous LivingIn Galatians 3:9-14, Paul emphasizes the importance of living by faith rather than by the law. The focus shifts from an impossible moral program to embracing what God has already done for us through Christ. This grace allows believers to live in a right relationship with God without the burden of rule-keeping. When God looks at us, He sees the perfection of His Son rather than our failures.### The Role of FaithLiving a righteous lifestyle now involves embracing faith over works. It is about trusting in God’s provision rather than striving to meet an impossible standard. As Habakkuk noted, the person who believes God is set right by God. This faith is not merely belief; it is an active trust that leads to a transformed life.## Key Takeaways- **Righteousness in the Old Testament** was tied to strict adherence to the law, which can feel burdensome.- **The destruction of the temple** made many laws unkeepable, leading to confusion and a sense of loss.- **Jesus fulfilled the law** and introduced grace, allowing believers to live in a right relationship with God through faith.- **Faith, not works**, is the foundation of a righteous lifestyle today..

The Paschal Lamb: The Great Exchange

Ever feel like you’re doing all the right things but still not getting closer to God? Let’s talk about the enemy’s tactics. The truth is, the enemy has a singular mission: to kill, steal, and destroy your spiritual life. It’s not just about physical death; it’s about spiritual death. How often do we find ourselves caught in rituals and works, thinking we can earn grace? But here’s the good news: Jesus already paid the price for our sins. It’s not about what we do, but about accepting His grace. When we rely on our actions, we miss the point of His sacrifice. We are clothed in His righteousness, not by our merit, but by His grace. Let’s focus on what truly matters: our relationship with Him, not the rituals we think we need to perform. The Pascal Lamb - Ps Niko Giannakakis

Discover how to reclaim your abundant life in Christ and understand the spiritual significance of the Paschal Lamb. This guide is essential for believers seeking deeper faith.## IntroductionIn today's world, many feel spiritually drained and disconnected, often questioning their faith and purpose. Why is this a common struggle among believers? In this post, we will explore the concept of spiritual theft and how the enemy seeks to undermine our faith. We’ll delve into the significance of the Paschal Lamb and how understanding this can help you reclaim the abundant life that Christ offers. ## Understanding Spiritual TheftThe enemy's strategy is subtle yet effective. Jesus explains in John 10:10 that the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. But what exactly does he seek to steal? It's not merely our material possessions; rather, he aims to rob us of our spiritual well-being and connection with God. ### What Does It Mean to Steal? The Greek word for steal, "klepto," signifies a deeper implication—it's about taking away our understanding of who we are in Christ. When we lose sight of our identity as children of God, we open ourselves to spiritual attacks. This theft manifests in doubt, fear, and confusion, leading us away from our true purpose. ### The Importance of the Paschal LambUnderstanding the Paschal Lamb is crucial. This term refers to Jesus Christ, who became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. His death and resurrection provide the foundation for our faith. The Evil Eye - Ps Michael Kafouris

Ever felt like your hard work goes unnoticed? Here’s a lesson from the laborers in the vineyard that might change your perspective. In Matthew 20, we learn about laborers hired throughout the day, yet all received the same pay. Those who worked longer felt it was unfair. But here's the kicker: it wasn't about the hours they worked, but about the generosity of the master. This story is a powerful reminder that God’s grace doesn’t operate on a scale of merit. It challenges our perceptions of fairness and invites us to examine our own hearts. Are we envious of others’ blessings? As we navigate our own lives, let’s focus on gratitude and grace rather than comparison. The kingdom of heaven is generous, and so should we be.What do you think about this parable? Let’s discuss below!Follow us on Instagram, Tik-Tok or your favourite podcast channels.
