Have you been wondering what in the world is God doing in your life? Maybe He’s taking you in a direction that seems like the OPPOSITE of where God has said He’s going to take you. When you experience severe, horrific, terrible grievances, a hug is not going to cut it. We have accepted bad theology and lies from the enemy about how honest we can or can’t be with God. We see friends fall away from the faith because no one can answer their questions or comfort them when they have lost EVERYTHING. But there is a hard, ugly truth we need to come to know: God wants you to bring your COMPLETE HONESTY to Him. He wants you to tell Him you don’t understand, you aren’t fine, that you’re mad at Him, and that you don’t understand why He has allowed every awful thing you’re facing right now. Those of you who have lost loved ones, children even, to terrible things like suicide, cancer, tragedy, health issues. Those of you who have lost everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, from your possessions to your jobs to your families. Those of you who feel alone and no one around you has anything to say that actually helps. God knows your griefs, and I want to introduce you to the one man in the Bible that knows what it’s like to go through what you have: Job. Discover with me what God’s desires are for you to have truth and justice and mercy in seasons of silence from God, when all you want to know is, “Why? When your circumstances are dire, you have the opportunity to choose if you will let your faith be dictated by your circumstances or held firm by the unchanging character of God. Sometimes God will lead us to a calling that we are not meant to see all the way through. Sometimes He might only want us to be a part of the beginning, the middle, or the end. Samson was prophesied to begin the deliverance of Israel, but he was never meant to see it all the way through. Jesus calming the storm is a common story of the Bible that most of you know. But have you ever thought about why Jesus delayed going to the disciples in the storm? Lazarus has died, and his family went through the entire process of burying him. In the midst of their grief, Jesus tells the disciples that He is glad that He wasn’t there to stop Lazarus from getting sick and dying. NOW was the time for Jesus to strengthen their faith! When facing a Lazarus situation, the enemy will try to cloud your mind with emotions and thoughts that God could have stopped it. But what if we peel back those emotions and thoughts, and receive Jesus’s red letters for the truth that they are? What if God needs our faith strengthened for what is to come?
