Producing Bussin' with the Boys, Building Make it To Midnight & Why Authenticity Wins w/ J.P. Hovey
Send us Fan MailJ.P. Hovey joins me in studio to talk producing Bussin' With The Boys, hosting Make It To Midnight, and co-hosting The Slice Tennis Podcast. Two South Carolina guys, one conversation about the world of podcasting and the future of human connection. J.P. shares the unglamorous origin story: working as a houseparent at IMG Academy, knocking on doors in Boca Raton, paying $600 a month rent thanks to a generous friend, and grinding through two years of loneliness before landing the Bussin' With The Boys gig through a chance connection with Michael Chandler.Five years later, he's been cage-side at the UFC, on the field for College Football Playoff games, and interviewed guys he grew up idolizing. The conversation goes deep on the stuff most podcast interviews skip: Turning 30 and what actually changes The "strength of weak ties" and how every major break comes from someone you barely know Why authenticity is going to win the next decade of media The looming AI bubble and what happens when people start craving real human connection again RFK's media strategy vs. pro-athletes who often want clips edited out Why long-distance runners and pro tennis players are leaving millions on the table by ignoring their personal brand The Michael Vick redemption arc David Goggins, mogging, and how kids today are growing up in such a different world than we didJ.P. also breaks down the vision for Make It To Midnight, a passion project built around a line his dad gave him during one of the hardest stretches of his life: "You just gotta make it to midnight every single day. You never know what could happen in the next 24 hours, but you've gotta show up for them." Footage From Inside a UFO?! | MUFON's 10-Month Investigation | Ep. 74
Send us Fan MailIn December 2021, John was scrolling through his phone deleting old photos when he found a 43-second video he had no memory of recording. The timestamp said 1:15 a.m. on June 12th, 2021. The footage shows what he believes to be the inside of a craft, multiple entities, and a cell tower at eye level. This is episode 74, and it's a follow-up to John's first appearance on the show in episode 36 . This time he's joined by Matt Kellison, Florida State Director for MUFON and a retired US Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer with 30 years of service, 2,000+ flight hours, and certification as an aircraft accident investigator. Matt spent 10 months and hundreds of hours building a full investigative report on John's video. We sat down to go through it.We get into the cell tower math that places the camera roughly 130 feet from the tower lights instead of a quarter mile away. The "ceiling fan" object skeptics latch onto, and why the frame count rules it out. The entities John describes under regression, including grays, a frog-like being, and a reptilian figure he read as a scientist. The unexplained physics inside the craft. The metadata review that found no tampering. Why Taxation Without Representation Always Leads to Revolution | Justin Estes | Episode 62
Send us Fan MailIn Episode 62 of The Cameron Brown Show, I sit down with Justin Estes for a wide-ranging conversation on the history of taxation, the logic behind it, and why taxation without representation has repeatedly led societies toward anger, instability, and revolution. We begin the episode by talking about some of the other things Justin has going on, including his work as a musician with The Carls, before shifting into his professional background as a Senior Content Marketing Manager at Barchart. From there, the conversation turns to the deeper historical context of taxes. We discuss why taxes were originally introduced, how representation and consent were meant to act as safeguards, and what happens when those safeguards erode. Using historical examples and first-principle thinking, we explore how taxation can make sense in theory, but becomes volatile when imposed without accountability or a voice for the people paying it.This episode is grounded in research, much of which is included in the accompanying document linked in the show notes. That research helped shape the discussion and provides additional historical references for listeners who want to go deeper.Taxation Without Representation Research Document: Taxation Without Representation Podcast Research.pdfThis conversation is not about telling you what to think. It is about understanding how power, money, and consent have interacted throughout history, and why ignoring those dynamics has consistently produced resistance, unrest, and revolution.Support the show
