The Edge of Destruction ( 7" version - A side ). The Classic Doctor Who Audio Review
From the dawn of human history, as our ancestors scrabbled in the dirt for sustenance, fashioning crude sonic screwdrivers out of twigs and shells, we have striven to understand our universe and ourselves. Since 1963, we have been lucky enough to have Doctor Who to guide us onto the science fiction path of truth. Once again we highlight and admire the noble truth-seekers, the pure of heart and tongue, the Doctor Who podcasters who light the way in the eternal darkness with only their wit and wisdom to protect them from the Chronovores, the hecklers and the Quarks. We can only pray that we are worthy of their example...

The Edge of Destuction ( trailer ). The Classic Doctor Who Audio Review
Once again the intrepid creators of Doctor Who related podcasts, who we honour here, have boldly stepped into the void, with little regard for their own safety or renown, to discuss the incredible classic serial, the Edge of Destruction. If we are able to see further today, it is by standing on the shoulders of these unheralded giants. And once again we raise our glasses and rinse our contact lenses to these amazing pod people...

Those taking part in this week's quiz will be painfully aware of its importance - and what's at stake: the last berth on the generational colony ship Kamelion, and a chance to survive the imminent implosion of the Earth. As usual, we remind all players not to mention the decaying planet, or the possibility of escaping to New Terra, to those not associated with the quiz, as most are as yet unaware of their impending destruction. And those that are can be understandably touchy on the subject.Obviously, we at CDWAQ Lunar Control Bunker have our places on the mission already assured. As well as our families and their friends. And their friends' tennis partners. And the sponsors, obviously. And their mates, too, of course.Anyway... long story short, there's only one place left on the ship, so get sharpening those battle-blades!

Well... Artemis II has returned to Earth after its journey to the Moon and back. They orbited the sleeping satellite. We watched them on our stealth monitors as the Orion spacecraft drifted slowly across the sky overhead.Luckily (touch wood) they don't seem to have spotted us in our crater, and our presence on the Moon continues to evade the attention of the wider world. So well done to everyone who has made it possible to maintain this secret in advance of TTTD - Total Terra Takeover Day.T minus 1440 Rels...

The Daleks (album version). The Classic Doctor Who Audio Review
"Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun." Mostly harmless? Don't let the creators of Doctor Who related podcasts hear that. Thanks to them, we as a species have crawled from the primordial ooze, microphone clasped in one hand, quantum regulator clutched in the other, to establish ourselves as the dominant life form. Intellectually, culturally and spiritually we have left our sea-bound ancestors behind, exceded the achievements of the dinosaurs and taken our place at the pinnacle of civilisation. All thanks to the masters of the podwaves and the long-running TV show they honour. Look out, silurians! We've heard your podcasts and you ain't ready for us, baby...

The Daleks - 7 inch version. The Classic Doctor Who Audio Review
There are two types of people in this world. There are those who have the courage, vision and fortitude to express their opinions of classic BBC science fiction television via an online, audio medium, paying no heed to the doubters, mockers and Voords, pressing ever onward to publish yet another episode - perhaps about Image of the Fendahl, who knows? Then there are the other people. Those who tremble in the shadows, never chancing to stray from the peripheries of life, not daring to express any potentially controversial view on the quality of the costumes in The Dominators, or take sides in the endless Draconian vs. Ogron debate. This podcast is dedicated to all those brave people who step forward into the light when a discussion arises over the subtle differences in studio lighting between episodes two and three of The Ark, and dare to say "here's what I think"...

Congratulations! If you are reading this, you are into the last group of 32 contestants, battling it out to represent the CDWAQ in this summer's Galactic 'Bludgeon n Bloodfest' 26. All of your skills will be required should you be the chosen one to enter the Cage of Spikes, so keep practising your bashing and slashing while you negotiate the trickier questions - like those about the Mandragora Helix and the design of the badges on the Kaled uniforms... But, I've said too much. I wish you all good luck. Don't forget to suck your anti-radiation lozenge before you activate the quiztank evacuation hatch.

Brought to you by FIZZ-AID. Even when it's chilled... it's ice hot!New Rocket Raspberry flavour.

An Unearthly Child - extended 12inch trance mix. The Classic Doctor Who Audio Review
When we appraise the greatest works of human endeavour, such things spring to mind as Plato's Republic, the Epic of Gilgamesh, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's 'Been to the Mountain-top' speech, and, of course, the various podcasts dedicated to cogitation upon the long-running BBC science-fiction adventure series, Doctor Who.Here, we attempt, in our small way, to celebrate and preserve the achievements of the mighty stalwarts who ploughed the furrows, forged the path and harnessed the precious podwaves so that others may follow.Future generations will inevitably hail them as pioneers, visionaries, even heroes. This is our humble tribute to their genius and fortitude. On behalf of those yet to come, we salute you, pod-people!

Sometimes one must ask 'why'...Why can't the Doctor control the tardis? Why was JNT allowed to bring Kamelion on board...?Why Bonnie Langford. The sixth Doctor's costume. Why?And... Why did Alpha Centauri stay on Peladon for so long after the committee of assessment passed judgement - and what did they do for all that time?Refreshingly, the Classic Doctor Who Audio Quiz does not try to answer any of these questions. And perhaps you'll agree that that's a good thing...
