ODEI's Strategic Plan: students asked to offer feedback soon (part 2)
This episode is the second part of a two-part series about Chatham University's diversity, equity and inclusion strategic plan. Upcoming information sessions will share the plan with students, faculty, and staff before it is officially announced this summer. Dr. Kristen Dukes, vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion, shares a preview of the plan and the process by which it was created by the Diversity and Inclusion Council. She also provides her unique insights on the campus climate and her predictions for what Chatham will look like in the next couple of years. HARP (part 1): some students left shocked, others ready to get to work
Content Warning: Talk of sexual violence, racism, and discrimination against minority groups.During the 2020-21 academic year, a survey evaluating gender, sexual violence and discrimination on campus, the Harm Assessment for Reduction and Prevention (HARP) survey was released to the internal Chatham community. The study was an effort by the Gender and Sexual Violence Prevention Committee of the Diversity and Inclusion Council to evaluate student experiences as a key part of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’s (ODEI) Strategic Plan. This episode of the Communiqué Dart dives into some of the results of the study and what students’ reactions were to the HARP study.
