A Haircut on the Summit of Rainier

Send us Fan MailA haircut on the top of Mount Rainier sounds like a stunt, but it turns into a sharp picture of what discipleship really costs. We walk through Jacob’s climb from Paradise to Camp Muir, then into the roped-up glacier route where the mountain “makes its own weather” and small mistakes can end everything. Along the way, the trek exposes the difference between talking about faith and living it, when silence, fatigue, and fear make every step matter. We keep coming back to the same themes that show up in real spiritual growth: shedding weight, listening to your guide, and refusing to treat Christianity like a set of rules you control. A 49-pound pack becomes a lived metaphor for dragging sin, pride, and distractions uphill, and the guide’s gear check becomes a wake-up call about what you cannot carry higher. We also dig into pace, rope tension, and the “rest step,” those micro-moments where you conserve energy and stay alert, like learning to keep in step with the Holy Spirit. Then we connect the summit push and the dangerous descent to Romans 5: suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. If you have ever wanted the hope without the suffering, this conversation presses on that nerve, and it does it with a story you can feel in your lungs. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs endurance, and leave a review with your answer: what “extra weight” are you ready to drop?www.consider.info

When Godly Love Gets Called A Cult

Send us Fan MailThe book eau de Cult, Love In The First ChurchIn order to love as Jesus loved, a church would have to be labeled as a “cult.” So radical and unearthly is heaven’s love expressed in a church that the worldly and unspiritual Christians will falsely label it as a cult.Matthew 10:24-25“A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the student to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebub, how much more the members of his household!”This is perfect persecution based on obedience to solid, sound doctrines and the love of God.Such godly, pure, selfless love is always persecuted, even to the point of prosecution. It was this fact that the King County Prosecutors of Washington State, under Prosecutors Mark Larson and Jason Simmons, proved Jesus to be correct. Like Satan who even now corrupts his knowlege of God, Prosecutor Mark Larson corrupted his knowledge about false accusations and prosecutions and used such methods to lawlynch an innocent man.A corrupt cop and co-conspirator from the City of Enumclaw, along with lawless prosecutors and authorities, framed Sound Doctrine Church, which was destroyed by the work of their hands.Such tactics employ what is called in cognitive psychology the Illusory Truth Effect — where false claims are repeated until people make them to appear true to others or themselves. This is the illusory truth effect. Lies become self-perpetuating precisely because repetition creates the illusion of credibility, causing the original falsehood to generate a cloud of corroborating (but equally false) claims. The internet has compounded this wicked dispertion of lies and character assassination. Seattle's King County Prosecutors seized the opportunity to destroy rather than to protect the truth, for like Satan, whose name is "the accuser" like prosecutors of today who are without accountability are his tools in the spiritual battle against a holy God.To put it in more formal legal terms: Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus, a Latin maxim meaning “false in one thing, false in everything.” It is the common-law principle that a witness who lies about one matter is not credible about any matter. While this principle primarily concerns discrediting a lying witness rather than describing how lies multiply, it acknowledges the legal intuition that one false statement or witness can corrupt an entire body of testimony.Although Sound Doctrine Church, WinePress Publishing, and The Salt Shaker Bookstore were driven out of the City of Enumclaw, this only proves that the lies against Timothy Williams are indeed complete lies.Luke 6:22-23“Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their fathers treated the prophets.”Truly, humbly, Timothy Williams is highly blessed. For those who desire to love with the love of God manifested in their life by picking up a cross and hating their own life after having surrendered all — look for the book Eau de Cult, written by Timothy Williams. The Consider Podcastwww.consider.infoExamining Today’s Wisdom, Folly and Madnesswww.consider.info

    The Powerful Delusion

Send us Fan MailIf you’ve ever assumed you’d spot spiritual deception instantly, this conversation is meant to unsettle you. We start with a hard historical mirror, ordinary ambitions that hid extraordinary evil, and use it to ask an uncomfortable question: what’s in our hearts that hasn’t been tested yet? From there we walk straight into 2 Thessalonians 2:11 and the warning of a “powerful delusion,” not as a fringe curiosity, but as a present danger that can seep into church life so slowly it feels normal.www.consider.info

Love That Was At Sound Doctrine Church

Send us Fan MailPersecution, Falling Away, And The Love Shaped By The CrossGod Uses Testing To Reveal Who Will Remain A church doesn’t usually vanish overnight, but Sound Doctrine Church did, and the reason given is blunt: persecution for the sake of righteousness scattered the body. We sit with the uncomfortable idea that pressure is not only pain, it’s a test that reveals what’s real. When the cost rises, do we still cling to Jesus Christ and his words, or do we discover we only loved the benefits? We walk through key scriptures that frame that testing. Luke 8 warns about receiving the word with joy and then falling away when trials hit. 1 John 2:19-25 sharpens the lens even more, tying departure to what someone truly believes and lives, not merely what they claim. From there, we turn to 2 Timothy 3:1-5 and ask what “terrible times” look like inside modern Christianity: self-love, money-love, pleasure-first living, and a form of godliness that denies the power that actually crucifies sin.The heart of the conversation is a definition of biblical love that refuses to be reduced to friendliness, social comfort, or permissive tolerance. We argue that the Holy Spirit produces love that rejoices in truth, exposes impure motives, and creates Acts-like unity and generosity, even “all things in common” as a fruit of surrender rather than a rule. That kind of love can feel fearsome because it demands the cross, including the crucifixion of our opinions, our pride, and even our confidence in our own wisdom. If you’re hungry for Christian discipleship that is more than words, listen closely, share this with someone who needs clarity, and subscribe, rate, and review so more people can find the show. What would change if you measured love by the cross instead of comfort? www.consider.info

Dr. John C. Yulle Forensic Psychologist

Send us Fan Mail A single interview can decide someone’s future, especially when there’s no physical evidence to fall back on. We dig into a case from King County and Enumclaw, Washington involving Malcolm Fraser and Sound Doctrine Church, and we ask a hard question: what happens when the investigation itself shapes the story that later becomes “proof”?We rely heavily on forensic psychology and the science of memory, focusing on the late Dr. John C. Ewell and the interviewing standards he helped popularize, including the Stepwise interview protocol for children and adolescents. We talk about why open-ended prompts matter, how leading or suggestive questions can contaminate recall, and why repeated suggestion can lock in details that were never freely reported. If you care about eyewitness memory, child forensic interviewing, credibility assessment, and wrongful convictions, this conversation connects the research to real courtroom consequences. From there, we walk through the transcript’s allegations of investigative misconduct, prosecutorial tunnel vision, and evidence handling failures, plus what it means when appeals courts uphold a verdict despite expert critique. The goal is not just to relive one controversy, but to make the process visible so listeners can spot the difference between a careful investigation and a narrative built under pressure. If this raised new questions for you, subscribe, share the episode with someone who follows true crime or criminal justice reform, and leave a review so more people can find it. Allie Beth Stuckey Softens the Cross

Send us Fan MailThe quickest way to empty the gospel of its power is to make it sound safe. We dig into a viral kind of Christian content that says the right words about Scripture while quietly sanding down anything that might offend donors, audiences, or platforms and we ask whether that’s exactly what Paul warns about when he talks about avoiding persecution for the cross of Christ. We start with Ali Beth Stuckey’s take on women pastors and then slow down to read what the text actually says. That means sitting with Genesis and creation order, then walking through 1 Timothy 2 beyond the single proof-text verse. We talk about quiet learning, full submission, authority in the local church, and why “context” can sometimes become a way to dodge the plain meaning rather than submit to it. If you care about complementarian theology, church leadership, or biblical authority, this is the kind of close read that forces clarity. Then we pivot to discernment and Christian media. We use 2 John 9–11 to ask what it means to welcome voices who “run ahead” of the teaching of Christ, and we connect that to Mormonism and the way prominent figures like Glenn Beck are received in Christian spaces. We close with 1 Corinthians 11 and the debated issue of head coverings, focusing on the phrase “because of the angels” and the idea of a visible sign of authority in worship.Subscribe for more, share this with a friend who cares about Scripture over brand, and leave a review with the question you want us to tackle next.www.consider.info

A Shotgun In The Squad Room

Send us Fan MailA detective allegedly clears a shotgun in a police hallway while coworkers look on, then later keeps his standing anyway. That’s the kind of claim that forces a hard look at what “accountability” really means when the people doing the investigating all work inside the same closed system. We walk through the Enumclaw, Washington allegations step by step, focusing on what is described, what is documented, and what the reported outcomes say about power inside a small department. We revisit the December 29, 2010 confrontation described in the transcript: a squad-room argument, a visible rage, a shotgun handled in view of other officers, and a return for another firearm. From there, we follow the official response as it’s presented: paid administrative leave, removal of badge and weapons, restricted access to city property, and a psychological evaluation requirement. Then comes the turning point that raises the biggest questions for anyone tracking police misconduct, internal affairs, and public integrity: an investigation conclusion that there wasn’t enough evidence to justify termination.Along the way, we examine why local news silence is criticized, how the role of attorneys and internal reviewers can create the appearance of a rigged process, and why comparisons to everyday workplace discipline make the situation feel even more stark. If you care about law enforcement transparency, Washington State justice, and how public trust gets lost, this conversation is for you.Subscribe for more deep dives, share this with someone who cares about accountability, and leave a review if you think independent investigations should be the standard. There Is Death in the Pot

Send us Fan MailA little wild vine can ruin a whole stew—and a little poison in modern “wisdom” can do the same. We put viral clips on the table and test them with Scripture: the grass‑fed dairy debate that spirals into certainty, a watch‑shop negotiation dripping with condescension, a shoplifting brag dressed up as necessity, a rhapsody about Hendrix’s “electric church,” and a blunt monologue on nagging versus peace at home. The goal isn’t outrage or dunking; it’s discernment. Like Elisha adding flour to cleanse the pot, we add humility, patience, and truth to separate what nourishes from what harms. We start with our own tongues. James says we all stumble, and Proverbs warns that hasty speech outruns wisdom. You’ll hear why listening fully beats winning fast and how humor can correct without humiliating. Then we tackle the sweet taste of stolen goods and the gravel that follows, unpacking why public applause can’t erase moral decay. We probe spiritual language around music and celebrity, naming the fine line between admiration and idolatry. And we wade into translation battles, challenging KJV‑only pride with the translators’ original aim: clarity for common people who want to obey God.The final turn lands at home. Better a roof corner than a noisy house, says Proverbs—but there’s a better way. We talk practical peace, daily chores, and the steady work of building a strong home through tone, timing, and service. No algorithms of contempt here—just a call to test the stew, keep what’s good, and pour out the rest.If this conversation sharpened your discernment, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review so others can find it. She Bought Her Future Husband a Bible on Amazon

Send us Fan MailWhat if the marks Jesus loves most aren’t polished optics but sun-darkened skin, tired hands, and a life spent in the vineyard? We wrestle with a bracing question: have we traded obedience for image, turning ministry into performance and marriage into a curated storyline? Starting with Song of Solomon’s “dark yet lovely” bride, we contrast the raw look of labor with modern Christian messaging that often prizes platforms, polish, and comfort. From there, we press into the ache of singleness and the allure of “future spouse” prayers that put us in the driver’s seat. 1 Corinthians 7 confronts us with freedom most of us don’t want: do not look for a spouse, and if married, live with undivided devotion to the Lord. That doesn’t diminish love; it purifies it. When Christ leads first, service to a spouse stops being appeasement and becomes obedience. We set that beside Acts 14:22—many hardships to enter the kingdom—and 2 Corinthians 12:10—power made perfect in weakness—to challenge upbeat spiritual branding that sidesteps the cross.David’s life becomes a reality check for romanticized ideals. Courage and worship sit alongside grave sin, severe discipline, and messy fallout. If we pray for a “David,” are we prepared for the weight that comes with real leadership and real repentance? We argue for a sober vision of marriage and ministry that expects pressure, embraces humility, and finds strength in surrender. Along the way, we preview a contentious practice drawn from 1 Corinthians 11—a visible “sign of authority” in worship—not as nostalgia but as a confession of spiritual order aimed at deflating pride. This is not a call to cynicism; it’s a call back to the field. Put away the spotlight. Pick up the cross. Seek the joy that grows in weakness, the freedom of not looking, and the courage to love through hardship. If this conversation stirred you, share it with a friend, subscribe for more, and leave a review with the Scripture that challenged you most.www.consider.info
