The Trainer Behind Verlander and A-List Clients: Peter Park on What Actually Works

The prestige in fitness runs toward the elite. The math runs the other way.Peter Park has trained Lance Armstrong, Justin Verlander, Kelly Slater, and numerous pro athletes.  A pro, he says, arrives already near the ceiling, so a great year of coaching moves them a few percent. A 60-year-old who hasn't trained since the nineties is nowhere near it, and that same year decides how the rest of his life goes.Dr. Kevin White sits down with Peter to talk about why the work is smaller than people expect, why he won't train anyone at their house, the 12-year-olds asking him about peptides, and the snail tattoo he got at 61."I get a pro athlete, I can change like ten percent. I get someone older, I can change their whole life."                                         - Peter ParkLearn more about Peter Park at Platinum Fitness Summerland, platinumfitnesssummerland.com. Your Labs Are Graded on the World's Easiest Curve — Dr. Brian Kennedy on Optimal Aging"

Most people treat a clean lab report as a verdict. Nothing flagged, nothing to do.Brian Kennedy has spent three decades explaining why that reading is generous. He trained at MIT, led the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, and now directs the Centre for Healthy Longevity at the National University of Singapore. His view is that medicine learned to define disease and never got around to defining health, so the ranges on your lab report mark the minimum that keeps you alive and the maximum that doesn't kill you. Everything in between gets called normal.Dr. Kevin White sits down with Brian to talk about what belongs in that space. Kennedy's team went looking for the people who are aging unusually well and found their numbers cluster in a far tighter band than the one your lab prints. He is 59, has nothing on his chart, and treats his own numbers anyway. They also get into why waiting for a diagnosis is a bad trade, what he takes and why, and what his lab found when it bought 16 supplement brands and measured what was actually in the bottles."If somebody says they can tell you exactly what to do to make you 10 years younger, they're lying to you or they're lying to themselves."                                      - Brian KennedyIf you've ever been handed a normal lab report and wondered what it actually bought you, this conversation gives you something better to aim at.Learn more about Brian Kennedy's research at medicine.nus.edu.sg/sites/briankennedylab, find Rejuvant at rejuvant.com, and look up his longevity solutions company, Live Beyond.Follow The Daily Apple for weekly conversations on longevity, performance, prevention, nutrition, exercise, and the science of living well.If you enjoyed this episode, please subscribe, leave a review, and share it with someone who's committed to living a longer, healthier life.www.primehealthassociates.com Instagram: @KevinWhiteMD YouTube: @KevinWhiteMD Prime Health Associates

NAD, Rapamycin & the Stories We Tell About Longevity (with Matt Kaeberlein)

A 27 year old woman went to a longevity clinic in the Bronx for an NAD IV drip. Minutes later she was in cardiac arrest. She died a few hours after that. The person who ran the clinic held a medical license from the Dominican Republic, not the United States.Dr. Kevin White talks with Dr. Matt Kaeberlein, a researcher who studies why and how we age, about what that story actually tells us. His answer isn't really about NAD. It's about certainty. Kaeberlein has never seen evidence that NAD infusions help anyone, and the field's founding claim, that NAD declines with age and needs replacing, is now being questioned by the same scientists who study it. Clinics keep selling it with total confidence anyway. That same pattern shows up everywhere they go in this conversation. Kaeberlein now chairs Montana's expanded Right To Try review board, which lets biotech companies test experimental therapies on real patients once they clear a phase one safety bar, outside the usual FDA process. He explains why that could produce safety data the field has never had, and why he'd reject any therapy pitched without a real scientific rationale behind it, no matter how confidently it's sold."You don't want to listen to the people who are telling you with a hundred percent certainty, do this. And by the way, you know, buy my longevity latte."                                                    — Matt KaeberleinThey also compare LinAge2, a biological age calculator built from standard bloodwork with decades of mortality data behind it, to the consumer epigenetic age tests sold directly to the public. Kaeberlein's problem with the popular tests has nothing to do with the underlying science. It's that nobody selling them will publish the error bars, so a 20 year gap on your result could mean everything or nothing. You can't run statistics on a number you're not allowed to check.Along the way they cover why rapamycin, the drug most associated with Kaeberlein's name, might not even be his top pick anymore. A company spun out of his lab, Aura Biomedical, has found longevity molecules that also protect against radiation damage. And a new epigenetic instability test from Irena Conboy's company, Generation Lab, measures something closer to biological chaos than biological age.Follow The Daily Apple and leave a review to help more people find the show. Instagram: @KevinWhiteMDYouTube: @KevinWhiteMD Prime Health Associates

Can Rapamycin Reverse Brain Aging? Dr. Veronica Galvan on the Alzheimer's Research Surprising Even Her

In this episode, Dr. Kevin White sits down with Dr. Veronica Galvan, Presidential Professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and Director of the Oklahoma Nathan Shock Center on Aging. Most people think Alzheimer's is caused by a buildup of "bad" proteins in the brain. The real story is more complicated, and more hopeful. Galvan has spent her career studying what actually drives Alzheimer's disease, and her research has uncovered something surprising: a common, decades-old drug may be able to reverse brain damage that was thought to be permanent.Together they explore:What's really happening in the brain during Alzheimer's, and why the "bad protein" explanation is incompleteWhy aging itself, not genetics, is the single biggest risk factor for Alzheimer's diseaseWhat your APOE gene type (2, 3, or 4) actually means for your riskHow rapamycin, a drug originally used for organ transplants, reversed brain damage in animal studies"It wasn't improving. It was restoring." — Dr. Veronica GalvanWhy some people's brains show significant Alzheimer's damage on scans but never lose their memory or functionThe simplest, most overlooked factor that can change your brain's trajectory as you ageAlong the way, Galvan shares what pulled her from virology into Alzheimer's research, why she believes large-scale human trials on rapamycin are long overdue, and what she'd study next if funding were no object.Whether you have a family history of dementia, want to understand the research behind the headlines, or are simply thinking ahead about how to protect your brain, this episode offers a clearer picture of where the science actually stands.Guest Dr. Veronica Galvan Presidential Professor, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Director, Oklahoma Nathan Shock Center on AgingFollow The Daily Apple for weekly conversations on longevity, performance, prevention, nutrition, exercise, and the science of living well.If you enjoyed this episode, please subscribe, leave a review, and share it with someone who's committed to living a longer, healthier life.www.primehealthassociates.com Instagram: @KevinWhiteMD YouTube: @KevinWhiteMD Prime Health Associates

Train Smarter. Age Better. Strength, Stability & Longevity with Andie Emmett, PT, DPT

Most people don't lose their health overnight. They lose it one movement, one habit, and one missed opportunity at a time.In this episode, Dr. Kevin White sits down with physical therapist Andie Emmett, PT, DPT, whose one-on-one approach to movement, strength, and recovery has made her one of Oklahoma's most sought-after physical therapists. This isn't just a conversation about pain. It's about building a body that stays strong, capable, and resilient for decades.Together they explore:• Why strength and stability matter more than you think• The hidden movement patterns behind chronic pain• Why weak glutes can lead to back problems• How to protect your shoulders before injuries happen• The importance of resistance training after 40• Walking, CrossFit, Hyrox, and training intelligently• What separates people who thrive in their 70s and 80s from those who don'tAlong the way, Andie shares why she left the traditional high-volume healthcare model to create a practice centered around something increasingly rare: time, attention, and truly personalized care.Whether you're recovering from an injury, trying to perform at a higher level, or simply want to age with strength and independence, this episode offers practical insights you can start using today.GuestAndie Emmett, PT, DPTWhole WellnessNichols Hills PlazaOklahoma CityFollow The Daily Apple for weekly conversations on longevity, performance, prevention, nutrition, exercise, and the science of living well.If you enjoyed this episode, please subscribe, leave a review, and share it with someone who's committed to living a longer, healthier life.Find Andie Emmett at Whole Wellness, Nichols Hills Plaza, Oklahoma City. www.facebook.com/WholeWellnessLLCFollow The Daily Apple and leave a review to help more people find the show. www.primehealthassociates.com Instagram: @KevinWhiteMD YouTube: @KevinWhiteMD Prime Health Associates

The Microplastics Problem Is Bigger Than Your Water Bottle

Most people worried about microplastics are focused on the wrong things. The receipts, the water bottles, the plastic cutting boards. Dr. Matt Campen has spent his career actually measuring what ends up in the human body, and the picture that's emerging looks a lot less like a consumer choice problem and a lot more like a food system problem.Dr. Kevin White sits down with Dr. Campen, a toxicologist and environmental health researcher at the University of New Mexico, to talk through what the science actually shows: where microplastics accumulate in the body, why the brain appears to hold more than any other organ, what his lab found when comparing plastic concentrations in healthy brains versus those with dementia, and why the biggest exposure vector isn't your water bottle. It's processed food, irrigated by groundwater running through plastic-contaminated agricultural fields. They also get into wildfire smoke as a largely overlooked driver of neuroinflammation, and why the recovery window is longer than most people realize."I worry that the United States may end up being sentinels for the rest of the planet on what the health effects of microplastics are."This isn't a conversation about panic or dismissal. It's an honest look at where the science actually is, what it means for brain health and longevity, and why solving this one is going to take more than switching to a stainless steel bottle.Find Dr. Campen on LinkedIn.Instagram: @kevinwhitemd YouTube: @kevinwhitemd primehealthassociates.com Prime Health Associates

The Gym Is Betting You'll Quit

The fitness industry makes money when you fail. Troy Taylor spent 20 years at the top of Olympic sport, and now he's the reason Tonal keeps 99% of its members while the rest of the industry churns through them like a revolving door.He and Kevin don't talk about motivation. They talk about why motivation is the wrong thing to chase, what the actual data says about how people build a training habit that sticks, and why everything you've been told about starting a fitness program is probably backwards."It doesn't matter whether you start high or low. What mattered was a little more in week two, a little more in week three, a little more in week four."Troy worked with Mikaela Shiffrin and Lindsey Vonn. The thing that made them exceptional? They showed up more than everyone else and worked on the things they were bad at. That's it. No secret sauce. The same principle wrecks most people's January gym resolution, and the data proves it.This one covers the behavioral science behind exercise adherence, why your first week should be embarrassingly easy, how an hour a week of lifting might be all you need, and what a VP of Performance Innovation actually does when he has 10 minutes and a deadline.Find Troy at @StrengthScienceTroy on Instagram and learn more about Tonal at tonal.com.Instagram: @kevinwhitemdYouTube: @kevinwhitemd Prime Health Associates

Psychedelics Can Rewrite the DNA of Trauma (with David Rabin)

Last Friday, President Trump signed an executive order directing the FDA to fast-track psychedelic medicines for mental health treatment. Joe Rogan texted him about Ibogaine. The president texted back. Fifty million federal dollars followed. You can have a lot of feelings about how that happened. Here is what is not political: a small group of neuroscientists and psychiatrists spent the last decade quietly building the scientific case that certain psychedelic compounds can do something no pill or therapy has ever done. Dr. David Rabin is one of them. He has been training clinicians, treating veterans with PTSD that responded to nothing, and running what has been called the largest controlled study of psychedelic medicines in the world. He published a paper in 2023 showing that MDMA assisted therapy produces measurable changes in the DNA of PTSD patients, at the level of the cortisol receptor, in direct proportion to how much better they got.Washington just showed up to a party that started ten years ago.Dr. Kevin White sits down with Dr. Rabin to talk about what MDMA is actually doing in the brain, why the safety hypothesis changes how you think about stress and chronic illness, what Ibogaine does to opioid receptors that nothing else can, and why most of the ketamine being prescribed right now is being given wrong."Psychedelic medicines are to mental illness what antibiotics were to infection in the first half of the 20th century."The science was already there. Veterinary Medicine Is Broken and Your Dog Is Paying for It

Most pet owners trust that regular vet visits, decent food, and a joint supplement are enough. Dr. Kevin Toman spent 35 years practicing that model. He doesn't believe it anymore. After four decades in clinical medicine, a personal MGUS diagnosis that pushed him toward integrative care, and a growing awareness of how poorly the profession was serving aging pets, he rebuilt his practice entirely around longevity. He now runs one of the only concierge veterinary practices in the country focused on extending healthspan, not just managing disease. If you don't have a pet, stay with this one. The conversation keeps landing back in the same place: the principles driving longevity in dogs and cats are the same ones driving it in humans. Rapamycin, caloric restriction, early cancer diagnostics, dental inflammation as a systemic disease driver, the failure of reactive medicine. Dr. Toman is applying an identical framework to a different patient population, and in some cases the data is cleaner because the studies are easier to run.Dr. Kevin White sits down with Dr. Toman to cover rapamycin's role in preventing and treating cancer in dogs and cats, why he's using it preventively in asymptomatic patients, why glucosamine and chondroitin don't work and what the research actually supports, how breed-specific risk changes everything about how a patient should be managed, the cancer navigation crisis facing pet owners in rural areas, and where early cancer diagnostics are heading for both species."The relationships and the holistic care that are so important to lifestyle and longevity have disappeared from the veterinary lexicon."This one covers more ground than most pet health conversations get anywhere near.Find more from Dr. Toman at helpingpetslivelonger.com and freevetcall.comAnd follow The Daily Apple and leave a review to help more people find the show. Instagram: @KevinWhiteMD YouTube: @KevinWhiteMDwww.primehealthassociates.com  Prime Health Associates

75 Pounds. On Purpose. What Drew Manning Learned Broke His Entire Fitness Approach.

Most fitness advice assumes the problem is knowledge. Eat less, move more, stay consistent. Drew Manning believed that too. He was a trainer who had never been overweight, watching clients fail at things that seemed obvious to him, and quietly judging them for it.So in 2011 he stopped exercising, ate like most of America eats, and spent six months gaining 75 pounds on purpose. Then he tried to lose it. That part, he thought, would be easy.It wasn't. And what broke open during that process had almost nothing to do with food.Dr. Kevin White sits down with Drew at Four Seasons Hualalai to talk about what the body actually does when you try to change it, why the fitness industry keeps failing the people who need it most, and what Drew found on the other side of doing this whole thing a second time at 40."The results become a byproduct of living that lifestyle. Not the main focus."This one reframes the whole conversation around what transformation actually requires.Find more from Drew HEREAnd follow The Daily Apple and leave a review to help more people find the show. www.primehealthassociates.com Instagram: @KevinWhiteMD YouTube: @KevinWhiteMD Prime Health Associates

Still Heli-Skiing at 88: Frank's Blueprint for Never Slowing Down

What does it take to still be heli-skiing, competing in triathlons, and running beach stairs in your late eighties? In this episode, Dr. Kevin White travels to Malibu to sit down with Frank, an 88-year-old athlete, engineer, and adventurer, and Flavio, Frank's trainer of 35 years. Together, they pull back the curtain on what it actually takes to stay that functional, that active, and that sharp at an age when most people have long stopped trying. They cover Flavio's 90-minute three-component training structure, why flexibility and stability matter more than raw strength, and how Frank survived a helicopter crash and a mountain biking accident that broke his back and neck, and came back from both. Kevin also walks through the nutrition and supplement protocols he uses with his own patients, including creatine for cognitive support, magnesium L-threonate, managing insulin resistance, and why too much fruit in your smoothie may be doing more harm than good.Frank's philosophy is simple: exercise is a means to an end, not the goal itself. The goal is to keep doing the things that make life worth living."Family, friends, take care of yourself. And never quit."If you want a model for what aging well actually looks like in practice, this episode is it.Follow The Daily Apple and leave a review to help more people find the show.www.primehealthassociates.com Instagram: @KevinWhiteMD YouTube: @KevinWhiteMD Prime Health Associates

From Chronic Pain to Real Healing: The New Frontier with Dr. Ashu Goyle

Why are so many people dealing with chronic pain earlier than ever?In this episode, Dr. Kevin White sits down with Dr. Ashu Goyle, a double board-certified anesthesiology and pain medicine physician trained at the Cleveland Clinic and founder of Integrated Spine, Pain, and Wellness in Scottsdale, Arizona.Dr. Goyle shares how his philosophy shifted from simply interrupting pain signals to helping the body repair itself. They unpack why back pain, knee pain, and joint degeneration are rarely isolated problems, and why treating one body part without addressing sleep, nutrition, inflammation, stress, and biomechanics often leads to temporary relief instead of lasting change. They discuss regenerative approaches like PRP and other orthobiologic therapies, metabolic optimization before procedures, laser therapy, nervous system balance, and what it really takes to create an environment where healing can occur.“If you’re going to put something powerful back into your body, make sure the environment you’re putting it into is ready.”This conversation challenges the quick-fix mindset and reframes pain as part of a bigger story. The Surgery Machine Is Real with Dr. Joshua Schacter

What happens when a board-certified orthopedic surgeon steps away from the surgery machine? In this episode, Dr. Joshua Schacter shares why he left a high-volume, surgery-first model to build the Pinnacle Method, a more comprehensive approach to chronic joint pain. His core belief is simple: joint pain is rarely just a joint problem.Dr. Kevin White and Dr. Schacter break down why so many patients continue to struggle after steroid injections, physical therapy, or even surgery. They discuss insulin resistance, systemic inflammation, hormone shifts, and why the joint often acts as a signal for deeper metabolic stress. You will leave with a clearer way to think about arthritis, aging, and what actually drives long-term results.“Your health is worth more than a $20 copay.”This conversation is not about avoiding surgery at all costs. It is about asking better questions before you cut and treating the whole person, not just the X-ray.Learn more about Dr. Joshua Schacter and Pinnacle Integrative Orthopedics: www.pinnaclesportsmedicine.comInstagram: @DrJoshuaSchacterYouTube: Pinnacle Integrative OrthopedicsIf you enjoyed this episode, follow The Daily Apple and leave a review. Are Peptides Helping, or Are We Just Looking for a Pill?

Peptides are everywhere right now. So are strong opinions about them. In this episode, Heather returns to talk candidly about injury, healing, and what led her to try peptides when nothing else seemed to help. Along the way, the conversation widens into something bigger: our cultural pull toward finding a pill instead of slowing down to understand what the body is actually asking for.Dr. Kevin White breaks down peptides in plain language, explains why so much of the conversation lives in gray areas, and why caution, sourcing, and context matter more than trends. They also talk honestly about perimenopause, hot flashes, hormones, and why changes can feel sudden even when they’re part of a longer story.“A lot of what people swear by right now is lived experience, not clean data.”This is not a pitch. From Patient to Power Player: Taking Ownership of Your Health and Your City (with Gary Brooks)

Real estate developer Gary Brooks spent decades building some of Oklahoma City’s most ambitious projects. But after years of chronic stress, heart surgery, and a family cancer diagnosis, he reached a breaking point. When he finally stepped away, he realized something unsettling: success had masked how unhealthy he had become. In this episode, Dr. Kevin White sits down with Gary to trace how that personal wake-up call turned into a larger sense of responsibility. Gary shares how learning to track sleep, stress, inflammation, and cardiovascular risk reshaped the way he understood health, and why “normal” lab work had quietly failed to tell the full story. As his own health improved, the question shifted outward: what happens when you realize your friends, your workforce, and your city may be heading down the same path? That realization became the catalyst for the Healthy City by 2040 summit. Gary explains why the event is not about trends or quick fixes, but about creating a credible starting point for prevention, personal agency, and long-term health at scale. The conversation explores why Oklahoma City’s health rankings matter, how mental health and environment shape physical outcomes, and why empowering people with better tools may be the most meaningful intervention of all.If you’ve ever felt worn down beneath outward success, or wondered how personal change can ripple outward into something that serves others, this episode offers a grounded reminder: transformation often begins when one person decides not to accept the status quo anymore.Learn more about the Healthy City by 2040 initiative and the upcoming summit at www.healthycityinitiative.com and follow along on Instagram at @healthycityinitiative.If you enjoyed this episode, follow The Daily Apple and leave a review. What You Can Do About Brain Aging, Starting Now (with Christin Glorioso)

Most people assume brain aging is something you deal with later. Or worse, something you can’t change at all.Christin Glorioso has spent her career proving that assumption wrong. With MD PhD training, a neuroscience postdoc at MIT, and her work as the founder and CEO of NeuroAge, she studies how the brain ages and how much of that process is actually within our control. The work became personal when she uncovered a genetic risk for Alzheimer’s disease and saw the same diagnosis move through her family.Dr. Kevin White sits down with Christin to explore what happens when brain health stops being abstract and becomes something you can measure. They talk through how brain aging often starts much earlier than people realize, why waiting for symptoms is a losing strategy, and how factors like sleep disruption, rising blood pressure, lipid changes, and fitness quietly shape cognitive health years before memory problems appear. In this episode, you’ll hear how Christin tested her own brain age, made targeted lifestyle and medical changes, and saw measurable improvements including increased hippocampal volume. They also unpack why genetics are not destiny, how prevention works when it starts early enough, and why clarity can be more empowering than reassurance.“Thinking you’re destined for cognitive decline is one of the biggest myths in medicine.”                                                            Christin GloriosoIf you’ve ever wondered when you should start paying attention to brain health, or assumed cognitive decline was inevitable, this conversation offers a grounded and hopeful reframe rooted in data, agency, and practical action.Learn more about NeuroAge testing at neuroagetx.com, join the app waitlist at waitlist.neuroagetx.com, and follow Christin on Instagram at @neuroage_therapeutics.If you enjoyed this episode, follow The Daily Apple and leave a review. The Questions We Don’t Ask About Breast Cancer

Dr. Jenn Simmons spent nearly two decades as a board-certified breast surgeon working inside conventional oncology. Then her own health crisis forced her to question the system she had been trained to defend and ultimately walk away from it.Dr. Kevin White sits down with Dr. Simmons to unpack how that turning point reshaped her understanding of breast cancer, prevention, and what real health protection looks like for women. She shares why focusing solely on tumors misses the bigger picture, how inflammation and environment quietly shape risk long before diagnosis, and why many standard screening practices deserve closer scrutiny. In this episode, you’ll hear why “We’re very good at reacting to disease. We’re much worse at asking what created it,” how medical dogma can persist even when data says otherwise, and what safer, more respectful approaches to screening and prevention can look like when women are treated as individuals rather than protocols. If you’ve ever felt confused, pressured, or dismissed when making decisions about breast health, this conversation offers a calmer starting point: one rooted in information, agency, and long-term wellbeing. You can learn more about Dr. Jenn Simmons’ work at jennsimmonsmd.com and perfeqtionimaging.com, and follow her on social media at @drjennsimmons. What Purpose Does to the Human Body with Rian Smoak

Rian Smoak thought he was chasing an Ironman finish line. But as he tells it, “that finish line became my new start line.” Dr. Kevin White reconnects with a longtime friend and endurance athlete whose story runs far deeper than training plans and race photos. Rian shares how growing up under chronic stress shaped his drive, how a health scare forced him to rethink what “healthy” actually means, and how one defining moment in Kona led to the creation of TRI-DAT: a mission built around helping athletes with different abilities experience their own moments of possibility and pride. In this episode, you’ll hear how early pressure and perfectionism quietly tax the nervous system, why purpose can change what the body is capable of, and how trading the chase for status or possessions for a cause rooted in service can radically shift both physical and mental health. If you’ve been living on alert, this conversation is a reminder that your body isn’t broken. It’s a physiology problem, especially as hormones begin to shift. In this conversation, Dr. Kevin White sits down with Katie Hardy, Colorado-based board-certified holistic nutritionist and strength and conditioning specialist, to explore why fitness, diet, and exercise stop working the same way over time, particularly for women navigating perimenopause. Drawing from her work with high-performing athletes and active adults, Katie explains how hormonal changes, chronic stress, and under-recovery impact energy, body composition, mood, and long-term health, and why pushing harder often backfires during this stage of life.“If things that used to work aren’t working anymore, that’s not failure. It’s feedback.” – Katie HardyYou’ll hear: • How perimenopause changes the body’s response to training, cardio, and calorie restriction • Why hormones, stress, and recovery matter more than doing more exercise • Common nutrition mistakes women make as hormones shift • Why savory, protein-forward meals better support energy and body composition • How smarter training and intentional recovery support health and longevity during midlifeFind Katie Hardy on Instagram at @mypeak365 and learn more about her work at MyPeak365.com.🎧 The Daily Apple Practical conversations about longevity, performance, and the habits that build better health.Hosted by Dr. Kevin White of Prime Health Associates. You’re Not Stuck With Your Vision: The Science That Changes Everything with Dr. Bryce Appelbaum

For decades we assumed vision was fixed. You were either born with good eyes or you weren’t. The Sneaky Game Behind Your Prescription with Tim Organ

He spent 33 years inside the system: selling for major healthcare companies, believing he was part of something that helped people. But over time, the seams started to split. Tim Organ began to notice the quiet forces shaping modern medicine: consolidations, pharmacy benefit managers, and rebate games that rewarded higher prices instead of better outcomes.“They’re not choosing the best drug for you. They’re choosing the one with the biggest rebate.”Today, Tim shares what it felt like to wake up inside that world and walk away from it. We talk about how real health got replaced by managed care, why most doctors are trapped in five-minute visits, and what it actually takes to reclaim your own wellbeing: more movement, more muscle, better sleep, and less blind trust in the system.🎧 The Daily Apple A conversation with Tim Organ, CEO of the Health Business Growth Collective and host of Rebels with a Root Cause. Learn more at thehbgc.com or connect with him when the new show launches this November on Apple and Spotify. The One “Drug” That Outperforms Them All: Exercise and Aging Explained (featuring Ben Miller, Ph.D., OMRF)

We all know movement is good for us. But can the right kind of exercise actually slow the aging process itself? In this episode, Dr. Kevin White talks with Benjamin Miller, Ph.D., professor of aging research at OMRF and past president of the American Aging Association, about what really happens to our muscles and mitochondria as we age, and how his new NIH-funded clinical trial is working to answer one of the most important questions in longevity science: why do some people respond to exercise better than others?"Every drug we study is just trying to be as good as exercise — and exercise still wins."Dr. Miller explains the biology of aging in plain language, from protein damage to energy production, and shares why exercise still outperforms any “miracle drug” on the market. He also unpacks the design of his new trial, where people 60 and older will receive supervised training, advanced health testing, and wearables to measure everything from VO₂ max to sleep — all with the goal of predicting who benefits most from which type of exercise. In this episode:Why exercise is still the closest thing we have to a longevity drugHow mitochondria and protein health drive resilience as we ageWhat VO₂ max actually measures — and why it predicts lifespanThe role of genetics vs. lifestyle in how our bodies respond to trainingHow to get involved in Dr. Miller’s NIH-backed exercise study at OMRFThis conversation is a reminder that slowing aging isn’t about hacks or shortcuts — it’s about moving, staying engaged, and using science to make every decade stronger than the last.
