Ep. 25: God Was Already There - Reflections on a Season On the Move
🚀 Ep. 25: God Was Already There: Reflections on a Season On the Move🗒️ Season two is a wrap - and Bryan closes it out with something personal. From the gym to a stand-up comedy class, he reflects on what it actually looked like to live out everything this season was about. God was already at work in every space he walked into. The invitation heading into summer is the same: go into your world with eyes wide open and participate with what He's already doing 🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: https://discover.riverside.com/

Ep. 24: Go - How Serving, Inviting & Sharing Actually Form You
Ep. 24: Go: How Serving, Inviting & Sharing Actually Form You🗒️ Most people think spiritual formation is something that happens to you quietly - in prayer, in Scripture, in silence. But Montie, Jake and Bryan make the case that going out into the world is just as formative as going inward. In this final formation episode they walk through three outward practices - serving, inviting and sharing - and show why the act of going changes you as much as anyone you're going to. Plus a teaser for the Summer of Formation reading plan dropping June 7th.🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: https://discover.riverside.com/

Ep. 23: Silence, Fasting & Sabbath: The Practices That Form You by Giving Things Up
Ep. 23: Silence, Fasting & Sabbath: The Practices That Form You by Giving Things Up🗒️ What if the most formative spiritual practices aren't about doing more - but giving things up? Montie, Jake and Brian walk through three relinquishing practices: silence, fasting and Sabbath. They share honest personal stories, practical ways to engage, and why giving up time, food and words might be exactly what your soul needs this summer.🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: https://discover.riverside.com/

Ep. 22: Becoming, Not Just Knowing: An Introduction to Spiritual Formation
🚀 Ep. 22: Becoming, Not Just Knowing: An Introduction to Spiritual Formation🗒️ There's a difference between knowing about your faith and actually being formed by it. In this episode Montie, Jake, and Bryan are back together to introduce the Summer of Formation - a new reading plan built around four spiritual practices: prayer, Scripture, relinquishing, and outreach. They start with formation itself, what it actually means, and why information alone will never be enough to change you. 🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: https://discover.riverside.com/

Ep. 21: Let's Actually Do It: Reading Ephesians 2 Together
Ep. 21: Let's Actually Do It: Reading Ephesians 2 Together🗒️ We've talked a lot about how to read the Bible - this week Montie and Jake actually do it. Taking Ephesians 2 as their text, they walk through three questions that can unlock any passage of Scripture: What does this teach us about God? About humanity? And how does it fit the bigger story? It's a front-row seat to what Bible engagement can look like, and it's a great one to sit with in the week after Easter.🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: https://discover.riverside.com/

Ep. 20: Wrestling With the Hard Parts: How to Engage Difficult Bible Passages
🚀 Ep. 20: Wrestling With the Hard Parts: How to Engage Difficult Bible Passages🗒️ Every honest Bible reader hits a passage that stops them cold. In this episode, Montie and Jake walk through the most common ways we respond to hard texts - avoiding them, dismissing them, trying to conquer them - and offer a better way forward. Rooted in the story of Jacob wrestling with God, this conversation is an invitation to cling longer than you argue.🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: https://discover.riverside.com/

Ep. 19: Lost in Translation: Why Genre Changes Everything When You Read the Bible
🚀 Ep. 19: Lost in Translation: Why Genre Changes Everything When You Read the Bible🗒️ What if the reason parts of the Bible feel confusing isn't you - it's that no one told you what kind of writing you were reading? Jake and Montie walk through the different genres of Scripture - gospels, parables, epistles, apocalyptic literature - and show how knowing the genre unlocks the meaning. From Animal Farm to the Babylon Bee to the book of Revelation, this one will change how you open your Bible.🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: linktr.ee/mbc_storytellers

Ep. 18: Mine It, Meditate, Memorize: How to Actually Read Your Bible
🚀 Ep. 18: Mine It, Meditate, Memorize: How to Actually Read Your Bible🗒️ The Bible reading plan is wrapping up - but the practice doesn't have to. In this final conversation, Bryan, Jake, and Montie walk through three practical ways to engage Scripture beyond just checking a box: mining for depth, meditating for encounter, and memorizing for formation. Whether you're a highlighter, a journaler, or someone who keeps forgetting their colored pencils, there's something here for you.🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: linktr.ee/mbc_storytellers

Ep. 17: One Story, One Name: Reading the Whole Bible Through Jesus
🚀 Ep. 17: One Story, One Name: Reading the Whole Bible Through Jesus🗒️ The Bible can feel like 66 disconnected books - but Jake and Montie make the case that it's actually one story, and every thread leads to Jesus. From Genesis 3 to Paul's letters, they walk through practical frameworks for reading Scripture with Jesus at the center and show how Old Testament figures like Adam, Jonah, and David all point forward to him.🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: linktr.ee/mbc_storytellers

Ep. 16: Prince of Egypt Theology & Questions the Bible Isn’t Answering
🚀 Ep. 16: Prince of Egypt Theology & Questions the Bible Isn’t Answering🗒️ What happens when the Bible doesn’t answer the question you’re asking? In this episode, Brian, Montie, and Jake unpack what it means to read Scripture as one unified story — not just a collection of isolated verses. From Passover and the firstborn to the tree in the garden and who Cain was actually afraid of, they wrestle with tough texts, intellectual humility, and why we don’t need to clean up the Bible or act as God’s PR team. It’s an honest conversation about letting the Bible be the Bible — and learning to wrestle with it together in community.🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: linktr.ee/mbc_storytellers

Ep. 15: Inviting People Into a Storied Community
🚀 Ep. 15: Inviting People Into a Storied Community🗒️ Sharing your story is powerful. Sharing God’s story is essential. But what happens next? In the final conversation of this 5-part Storytellers series, Bryan and Jake unpack why transformation doesn’t usually happen in isolation - it happens in community. What does it mean to invite someone not just into a conversation, but into a storied community shaped by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus?🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: linktr.ee/mbc_storytellers

Ep. 14: God’s Story, Your Words
🚀 Ep. 14: God’s Story, Your Words🗒️ How do you move from sharing your story to sharing God’s story? In this episode, Bryan and Jake unpack how to naturally transition from personal testimony to the bigger story of Scripture - creation, fall, redemption, restoration - and why the gospel is bigger than just “getting to heaven.” They talk brokenness, hope, identity, freedom, and what it really means to share good news in a world full of bad news. If you’ve ever wondered how to talk about Jesus without being awkward, preachy, or scripted - this one’s for you.🎧 Listen now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music: linktr.ee/mbc_storytellers

🚀 Ep. 13: Telling Your Faith Story with Confidence🗒️ How do you talk about your faith without sounding preachy or rehearsed? In this episode of the Discover Podcast, Bryan and Jake are joined by Hilary Mills and Paul Renaud from Crew to explore how personal testimonies create natural, meaningful pathways for sharing faith—especially in college and everyday life. Together, they unpack what makes a testimony effective, why focusing on Jesus matters, and how listening well builds bridges for spiritual conversations. The Discover Podcast Episode 0 | What is the Discover Podcast?
Welcome to the Discover Podcast, where faith is a journey, and every step brings us closer to becoming the person God created us to be. At Meadowbrook Church, we believe there's always more to discover—about Jesus, about ourselves, and about what it means to live a life of faith. This podcast extends the conversations we begin on Sunday mornings, in discipleship classes, and in community gatherings, creating a space for deeper exploration of who Jesus is and how He is transforming our lives in real-time. In our first season, inspired by Psalm 107:2—"Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story"—we're launching a vision initiative called Storytellers. You'll hear stories of faith, transformation, and God’s ongoing work in the lives of our church family. From personal reflections on calling and ministry to testimonies of God’s presence in everyday life, this season is all about sharing how God is moving among us. Join us on this discovery journey as we reflect, learn, and grow together. Whether you're new to faith or have been following Jesus for years, our hope is that this podcast encourages you to discover deeper faith, greater purpose, and the incredible story God is writing through your life.
