This podcast episode features Evangelism Coach Daniel King interviewing Bill Wolfe from the Jesus Film Project, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru).  Bill Wolfe shares his personal conversion story, explaining how he became a Christian at age 19 in college when a friend shared the Gospel with him using a booklet called "The Four Spiritual Laws." After his conversion, his friend discipled him for three months, meeting five days a week for 30 minutes daily, and encouraged him to participate in evangelism just two and a half weeks after his conversion.  Wolfe describes how the Jesus Film has become a powerful evangelism tool available in over 2,000 languages. The film is recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most translated film in history, with 2,274 languages as of the recording. According to the Guinness Book, the total viewing audience over more than 40 years is approximately 11 billion viewings.  The Jesus Film's effectiveness stems from three key characteristics: it is visual and oral, requiring no literacy; it is presented in viewers' heart languages, the first language they learned; and it contains only the Gospel of Luke. The film has been made available to churches and ministries worldwide at no cost, and is used by over 1,800 denominations and organizations across every country.  Wolfe has served with Cru for 55 years after Dr. Bill Bright challenged him to help fulfill the Great Commission. Bright emphasized that ministry power comes from the Holy Spirit's work in believers' lives, prioritizing right relationships with God and others before discussing strategy.  The Jesus Film Project has developed multiple distribution methods, including the Jesus Film app available on smartphones and solar-powered backpack units for remote areas without internet or electricity. These tools enable evangelists to share the Gospel in any of the film's available languages.

Today on the Evangelism Podcast, I interview David Ro. He has been leading a movement called Arise Asia that is having a massive impact on young people across Asia. We'll hear all about this inspiring work and David's vision for the future of Asian missions. Arise Asia is a movement that has brought together over 11,000 young people from 37 countries across Asia, challenging them to "go where there's no gospel."  This has resulted in over 1,600 commitments from young people to long-term or one-year cross-cultural missions. The goal of Arise Asia is to "catalyze this generation, gen Z" and see the movement spread to other regions like the MENA region and Latin America. The aim is to give young people a "God's heart for the nation" and a sense of purpose. Rather than "softening the gospel", Arise Asia takes the approach of "lifting the bar high" and challenging young people to be willing to give their lives and potentially face martyrdom for Jesus. This bold approach has resonated with young people, with large numbers responding by committing to long-term missions, even to places with difficult or dangerous conditions.

Sergio Carriel is a Brazilian missionary who has been serving in Africa for 19 years, starting in Mozambique and then expanding to other African countries like Malawi, Uganda, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya. He has experienced many miracles and conversions during his evangelistic crusades in Africa, including healings and deliverance from demonic oppression. Carriel believes God is raising up a missionary force from Brazil to go to other nations, and he wants to inspire and encourage more Brazilian youth to become evangelists and missionaries. He has faced challenges in getting financial support from churches in Brazil, who often focus more on local needs rather than global missions. Carriel hopes to see the Brazilian church invest more in sending missionaries worldwide.

Lucas Teodoro and his organization Aviva is focused on evangelism and youth outreach on university campuses in Brazil.  Aviva has been active for 5 years, reaching over 9,000 university students in Brazil's largest federal universities. They organize weekly "evangelism flows" led by students to continue the outreach efforts. They recently conducted their first large crusade event in Rio de Janeiro, which saw over 2,000 decisions for Christ. The core message they preach is the gospel of Jesus Christ, seeking to address the challenges facing Brazilian youth like depression, anxiety, and family problems. Despite facing opposition and threats on some campuses, the team remains committed to boldly sharing the gospel with university students across the country. The organization's name "Aviva" means "revival" in English, and their vision is to expand these crusade and campus outreach efforts globally.

Under the leadership of South African director Tim Tucker, the Message Trust is focused on equipping the African church to effectively engage youth in urban settings.

Tara Hope Boehlke is an evangelist who has traveled to many countries sharing the gospel. She started as a volunteer helping to give away eye glasses at evangelistic events before being called into evangelistic ministry herself. Tara has developed a ministry of giving out customized aprons and bags to share the message that everyone has great value and is "kind of a big deal" in God's eyes. She has also published a children's book called "Petey the Pathetic Dump Truck" that teaches about finding one's true identity in God. She encourages other women who feel called to evangelism to start small by sharing their personal testimonies and praying for others, and to trust that God will grow their ministry as they are faithful with what He gives them.
