The Father's Love

Because Jesus is the Almighty, and one day, you’ll see Him exactly as He is. 

Is there anything more spectacular than a rainbow? Only a small sliver of all wavelengths, the visible spectrum that is the rainbow, contains every color our human eyes can see. When you run a race, the deeper and longer you get into it, the harder it gets. Your legs are tight, your breathing is labored, and your heart is pounding. You've had it for years — you grab it right out of the dryer while it's still warm and immediately slip it over your head because it's just that comfortable. There's nothing wrong with a favorite shirt that fits like a glove, but today Pastor Vic warns you that there is something very wrong with a comfortable faith. If you stay where you are spiritually, you won't grow. So, ditch your comfortable faith and put on something that challenges you. 

Have you ever stood at the apex of a mountain or sat in the bottom of a deep canyon, and felt humbled? The beauty and grandeur of the location remind you of your smallness. Pastor Vic tells you today that in the same way, the holiness of God puts you in your place. The moment you are in the presence of Jesus, there is at least one thing that will be overwhelmingly obvious: He is completely holy and perfect. And there will be another clear fact: you are not! 

Some things in life are simply black and white. The baseball is either fair or foul, the business is either in the red or the black, and the verdict is either guilty or not guilty. Today, Pastor Vic explains that when it comes to repentance, there is no middle ground. You either repent and are forgiven by the blood of the Lamb, washed as white as snow, or you don't repent and face the consequences. And trust me — these are penalties you do not want to pay. It’s far better to surrender to Jesus now! 

The titles we carry say a lot about who we are. Mom, Sir, MVP, Boss, Your Honor — each one tells you something about that person's role. Jesus' many titles are no different. Today, Pastor Vic points out that when Jesus is called the Son of God, it carries powerful overtones of judgment. And here's the good news — Jesus' judgment is something you can actually look forward to, because it is perfectly just and right. And if your trust is in Him, then you can also look forward to His mercy. 

Even though you are guilty before God, Jesus stands in your place and declares you innocent when you acknowledge His death and resurrection. Today, Pastor Vic explains that instead of receiving the punishment you deserve, you receive His righteousness. In other words, Jesus doesn’t pretend your guilt never existed—He satisfies justice and then freely offers forgiveness. Because of Him, the verdict over your life can change from guilty to forgiven and restored.

You have to give Thomas Edison credit for his perseverance. Thousands of times, he tried to create a practical, working light bulb before finally succeeding. He adjusted his approach again and again until the bulb stayed lit. Today, Pastor Vic warns you that Satan is just as relentless in trying to weaken your effectiveness for God’s kingdom. If one tactic fails, he simply changes strategies and tries another. Are you just as persistent in resisting the devil’s temptations? 

Sometimes, two things can seem similar, but on closer inspection, they are quite different. Being busy is not the same as being productive. Listening is not the same as hearing. Today, Pastor Vic explains the difference to you between two things that are often confused, religion and Christianity. Religion is man’s movement towards God, but Christianity is the opposite. He takes the initiative, not you. God has always been on the move towards you, not the other way around. 

Of course, we know that Jesus loves us. And when we experience that love, it makes us eager to tell others about it. His love for us gives us a new identity as one of His family members. When you’re healthy, you have a well-paying job, and relationships in your life are strong, it’s easy to praise God, give Him thanks, and tell others how wonderful Jesus is. Those seasons can be joyful and uplifting. But today, Pastor Vic reminds you that the true test of faith comes during hardship—when life feels crushing, and God seems distant, yet you choose to honor Him anyway. When someone is found guilty in a jury trial, that isn’t the end of standing before the judge. On a later date, the judge pronounces the sentence — and that decision can shape the rest of a person’s life. Today, Pastor Vic reminds you that a future judgment awaits those who reject Jesus. The verdict of guilty is already clear, and now the sentence pronounced will reveal two sobering and related realities: the true magnitude and disgust of sin and the absolute holiness and perfection of God.
