Baptist Distinctives: Individual Soul Liberty | The Freedom to Choose and the Responsibility to Answer
What is Individual Soul Liberty, and why is it one of the historic Baptist distinctives? In this message from our Baptist Distinctives series, Pastor John Mix examines the biblical teaching that God created every person as a free moral agent. While God lovingly offers salvation through Jesus Christ, He does not force anyone to be saved, obey, or serve Him. Every individual must personally respond to God's truth and will one day give an account for the choices they make. This study explores:• The freedom to accept or reject Christ• Why salvation is a personal decision• The relationship between obedience and blessing• Personal convictions and Christian liberty• Accountability before God• Why believers should avoid judging one anotherKey Scriptures:Romans 14, Isaiah 1:18, Joshua 24:15, John 14:15, 1 Corinthians 10:23, 2 Corinthians 5:10, and more.Whether you're new to Baptist beliefs or seeking a deeper understanding of biblical doctrine, this message will help you understand the balance between Christian liberty, personal responsibility, and a life surrendered to Christ.

The Two Ordinances: Understanding Biblical Baptism and Church Authority
We continue our series on Baptist Distinctives, focusing on the "T" in our study: the Two Ordinances. Join us as we dive into why the Bible teaches that there are only two ordinances—Baptism and the Lord’s Supper—and why these are not "sacraments" or means of grace, but vital acts of identification for the believer. In this message, we explore:Ordinances vs. Sacraments: Why religious rituals cannot save us and the danger of using ceremonies for power and control. The Security of the Believer: Understanding that salvation is by grace through faith, and once you are saved, you are eternally secure in Christ. The Scriptural Pattern for Baptism: Why we practice full immersion and why baptism must always follow a personal profession of faith. Church Authority: Why the authority to administer these ordinances rests within the local New Testament church rather than universal or state-led organizations. We invite you to examine the scriptures with us and ensure your faith is built on the Word of God rather than human tradition.

The Priesthood of the Believer
In this midweek message from GracePointe Baptist Church, we continue our deep dive into the Baptist Distinctives using the "B.A.P.T.I.S.T." acrostic. Tonight, we focus on the letter "P"—the Priesthood of the Believer. What does it mean to be your own priest? Pastor explains that while Old Testament priests acted as mediators and barriers between man and God, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ changed everything. When Jesus died, the veil of the temple was "rent in twain," symbolizing that the wall of partition was broken down forever. In this episode, you will learn:Direct Access: Why every born-again believer has the privilege of entering the throne room of God without needing a human mediator, priest, or "holy man". The Role of Christ: How Jesus serves as our Great High Priest and the only necessary mediator between God and man. Freedom from Bondage: Why no religious organization has the power to withhold grace or "lord over" your spiritual life. Historical Wonders: A look at historical records from the Jerusalem and Babylonian Talmuds regarding the temple doors opening on their own for 40 years following the crucifixion. Our Responsibility: How we are called to offer "spiritual sacrifices" of praise, thanksgiving, and intercessory prayer. Scripture References: 1 Peter 2:5, 9; Hebrews 4:14-16; 1 Timothy 2:5; Romans 5:1-2; Ephesians 2:18.
