After 31 years of beach trips, my husband finally found his first perfect sand dollar—no chips, no cracks, just sitting there like a little beach miracle. The kids were excited, he was proud, and somehow it ended up on my nightstand. I really tried to leave it alone… but I picked it up to admire it one more time, went to set it back down, and shattered it into pieces. 🙃 Instead of getting mad, Caleb just laughed and said, “Honestly… this kind of makes it even better.” And somehow that little moment turned into a bigger conversation about grace, broken things, and how we respond when life (or us) makes a mess.

So… For two weeks Devin was convinced she was dealing with straight-up defiance from Chapel — the whining, the tantrums, the drama — and was fully prepared to implement some serious character-building consequences. Turns out? Ear infection. She wasn’t rebellious. She was in pain. And then, we felt that holy little nudge like, “How often do you do this to other people in everyday life?” This week’s episode is us unpacking that conviction in real time — the ways we label instead of lean in, correct instead of get curious, assume instead of ask.
