The House Podcast

The House Podcast is the official Podcast of the Calvary Chapel Brandon youth group. In observing the draw to the negative digital content that is abundantly available to the youth of today, Youth Pastor Kaleb Koutz, and fellow youth leader Ethan Flannery, host each episode, attempting to offer positive wholesome content from a Christian worldview. Their hope is that this content will bring joy to those who listen as they seek to honor God in conversation without taking themselves too seriously, yet also stir minds as God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.

Episode 31- Changes in Media Consumption

Does the Bible say you can only listen to Christian music? Is it wrong to watch "Doctor Strange?" Should I stay away from Tik Tok and just watch YouTube shorts? On this episode we explore some areas of Christian Liberty when it comes to media consumption, attempting to strike a balance between legalism and the absence of any discipline in your walk with the Lord. We hope you find it helpful in navigating the media you consume, and enjoy our first time guest- Landon Parris. We also played our favorite game thus far; a version of "Imposter" that is sure to make you laugh! Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Episode 30- Curry with the Shot

In this episode we chat with one of our youth students, Noah Das, as he prepares to return to school after an eventful summer. Our discussion primarily addressed the idea of "Private School Christianity" in contrast to public or homeschooling, but ended up focussing more on leading and cultivating godly community where the Lord has you. It's a fun episode with good conversations, some technical difficulties, and a stressful guessing game at the end!

  3. 29

Episode 29- When Someone Else's Story Prepares Your Next Chapter

This Episode is a little different from our others, as we recorded it at our 2025 youth Camp! We hope you enjoy this testimony and interview, which reminds us that someone else's story can prepare you for the next chapter of your life! Heed the warnings and grow in grace!

  4. 28

We hope to give you some ideas. The episode ends with yet another guessing game from chat GPT you won't want to miss! Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

  5. 27

Episode 27- Endure the Frying Pan

Do you find it hard to be patient when things aren't going your way? Have you ever wondered why God won't just give you what you want? Perhaps objectively you're the most qualified and the plans you have in mind make sense, but things just aren't working out. On this episode, the fellas discuss these ideas with their friend CJ Wynn; looking at perseverance in the midst of struggle, and trusting the Lord's timing even when it doesn't align to yours. We trust you'll be encouraged by the conversation, and enjoy another chat GPT game- Sea or Scripture! Let us know what you think.

  6. 26

Episode 26- We Shall Go to War!

Per the request of our viewers, on this episode the fellas discuss the armor of God. They explore the context of the warfare Paul describes in Ephesians 6, as well as the extent to which he intends this metaphor to be applied as the church stands against the wiles of the devil. Despite this being a more serious topic, it is approached with humor and application that we hope blesses you as you listen and prepare for war. It all wraps up with a new game- "Ditch One!" Let us know what you think in the comments below.

  7. 25

    Episode 25- Serving with Siblings

Serving the Lord is often a privilege, but serving the Lord with siblings can be a challenge. Mary and Martha prove that even in service with family, people are still people and tensions can form when expectations don't match up with reality. To shed light on this subject, on this episode we interview Grace and Hannah Orozco, discussing the struggles and the rewards of serving as sisters and PK's (Pastor's Kids). It's a heartfelt conversation that they described as "healing" and we hope it has the same effect on the hearts of listeners who have had similar experiences. Finally, we wrap up with some Bible-based "Blind Rankings" you won't want to miss.

  8. 24

They also wrap things up with a new Bible riddle game entitled "Riddle Me This, O Lord!"

  9. 23

Episode 23- We Hope Your Easter is... Crackin?

If the title doesn't "peep" your interest then perhaps you are asking the same questions we are. Are we emphasizing the wrong things on Easter? Are we too focussed on the fun and celebration that we are forsaking the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ? How can we as the church keep Jesus the focus at Easter, but also strive to meet the world where they are at? We try to answer these questions on today's episode, challenging you to think deeply this Easter and keep growing, even though we celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus year round. We also hope you enjoy our first ever AI generated game- "Peep the Truth."

  10. 22

Episode 22- What's Your GPA in Heaven?

Is that impacting your perspective and your actions as you operate in the world, but not of it? In this episode the guys have a conversation with their dear friend, Derron Walker, discussing the Bema Seat of Christ and the reality that this is the destination every believer is headed for. We pray it challenges you to live well for Christ in the present, taking ownership and responsibility for what you do with the time He's given you. The episode wraps up with a fun narrative guessing game sure to make you laugh.
