ODOT is considering three different upgrade options to the stretch of Highway 75 from the Okmulgee County line, to 151st Street, and the meeting allowed citizens to share their concerns. The proposals are about improving safety and traffic flow. ODOT's TJ Gerlach tells KRMG the meeting was well attended. The upgrades would replace current diamond interchanges with x-ramps, which means drivers would get on and off of the highway using one-way frontage roads on each side of the highway.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Sapulpa Police Captain Mike Sole tells KRMG that around 8 a.m. Tuesday, officers got a call about a possible stolen car in the parking lot of the Garden Park Apartments, located near the 200 block of North Hickory. Sole says when they arrived, a man exited the car and raised a gun at officers. The officers immediately rendered aid until EMSA could arrive. The suspect, who has not been identified, was shot in the arm and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Sole did not know if the suspect fired his weapon, but no officers were injured in the shooting. A 20-year old man kidnapped his 17-year old girlfriend from a Tulsa party but died after he turned the gun on himself, according to Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton. When the man kidnapped his girlfriend, she attempted to escape, asking a bystander for help, but the man beat the Good Samaritan severely and drove away. Deputies say they received a call about an erratic driver near Inola, but the driver told his victim he would not stop. When deputies turned on their lights, the man shot at his girlfriend four times, but she was not hit. Reports say he then shot himself and the truck rolled several times. Numerous outlets have reported that reality TV star and activist, Kim Kardashian, posted Glossip's $500,000 bond, and he is now out of prison while awaiting a new trial. Glossip, now 63 years old, was convicted in 1998 for his role in the 1997 killing of Oklahoma City motel owner Barry Van Treese.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Just after 10 Thursday morning, death row inmate Raymond Eugene Johnson was executed, using a three-drug injection at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester. Johnson was sentenced to death for killing his ex-girlfriend, Brooke Whitaker, with a claw hammer and setting the house on fire, which also killed her 7-month old daughter, Kya. Prosecutors said Johnson fractured Whitaker's skull and caused more than 20 lacerations on her face and head. He also set the house on fire while the mother and daughter were still alive. Johnson was convicted and sentenced to death. Court records say, that in addition to his first-degree murder conviction, Johnson was convicted of manslaughter in 1996, serving nine years of a 20-year sentence.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Police say a man is dead after a domestic dispute ended with an officer-involved shooting in North Tulsa. Officers say the suspect, identified as 51-year-old Mitchell D. Folsom, allegedly shot at a woman while they were traveling in a pickup, forcing the truck off the road and into another vehicle. The truck rolled, and when Folsom crawled out, he reportedly told the woman he wasn’t going back to prison. Police say he then ran toward Whitman Elementary, triggering an immediate lockdown. Officers, drones, and K-9 units pursued Folsom into a wooded area, where he was eventually spotted hiding in a pond. Edmond shooting suspect Jaylan Davis turned himself in to authorities yesterday, but this isn't his first run-in with the law. Davis, who is 18 years old, has a criminal history that dates back to when he was a minor. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Tulsa Police are investigating a shooting in South Tulsa that occurred around noon Sunday. Police say they responded to a call near 61st and South Irvington. Witnesses told police a man walked up to a black Chrysler 300 when they heard around four or five gunshots, and the car sped off. In east Tulsa, police arrested 21-year old Darwin Vasquez-Barrios after they say he shot a man in the backyard of a home near 31st and Highway 169 Sunday night. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

According to police reports, Michelle Francis, was seen on surveillance footage hitting a student with special needs in the face. The video shows the student striking Francis first before she retaliates. Reports say she told a co-worker it was "knee-jerk reaction."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Tulsa Firefighters battled a fire at the Sheridan Ponds Apartments in south Tulsa Thursday morning, and, at this time, around 16 units were damaged by the fire. Firefighters were alerted to the apartment fire at 81st and Sheridan just after 8 a.m. When crews arrived, flames were coming through the roof of the building, and smoke could be seen from miles away. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Sand Springs City Manager Mike Carter says two lawsuits have been filed against the City. The City of Sand Springs is being sued by a group called "Protect Sand Springs Alliance" claiming the city annexed the property illegally and they are challenging the zoning of the property. Julius Jones, the man whose death sentence was commuted, is accused of trying to smuggle contraband into the Joseph Harp Correctional Center in Lexington in August 2024. During a search, investigators say they found a phone believed to belong to Jones and allege he gave specific instructions to a runner, even sending a Google Maps pin for a drop location. A man accidentally drives through a tattoo parlor Friday near the University of Tulsa, leading to a DUI complaint on his 26th birthday. At around 9 p.m., staff members and customers at the Anchor & Rose tattoo shop got a big surprise when a truck drove through the front of their building.
