A Professional Tacoma Cheesemonger On MF Doom And Local Flavor
A certified cheesemonger who can also talk MF DOOM bars without blinking is exactly the kind of guest that turns a live podcast into something you can’t make up. We’re posted up at Pizza Time Pub on Sixth Avenue with Kijon Underwood, letting the conversation bounce between hip hop nerdery, neighborhood truth, and the everyday craft of working a cheese counter at Metropolitan Market in Proctor. We get into why DOOM’s wordplay, samples, and mask-era mythology still hit, then flip it into the most important question nobody asked: what cheese would MF DOOM actually buy, and would he recommend it with a straight face. From there we go full Tacoma food and drink mode, swapping picks like Peaks and Pints for day drinking, Tacoma Pie for a dependable bite, and late-night moves like Eurobytes when you need something that still slaps after hours. Kijon also breaks down what makes a truly special cheese worth the price, including Rogue River Blue, plus the difference between real quality and grocery store theater. Along the way we hit Tacoma changes, the Tacoma Aroma backstory, dive bars, tattoos, a quick cameo from Del Brown with a Tacoma Mission Thrift plug, and the kind of wild Sixth Avenue stories locals recognize instantly. If you like Tacoma culture, craft food, and hip hop talk that doesn’t take itself too seriously, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave us a review.Support the showThanks for listening to the latest episode of LIKEITORNOT🎙️🏆

Wrestling Nostalgia And The NBA GOAT Fight From A Sixth Ave bar
A random afternoon at Pizza Time Pub on Sixth Avenue turns into the kind of raw Tacoma sports podcast you cannot script. Frank and I were sitting in the window with a drink, a mic, and a full room behind us when the talk jumps from WWF nostalgia and all-time wrestler picks to a surprisingly serious question: why do we get so attached to the sports eras we grew up in? That thread runs through everything, even when we are cracking jokes or getting sidetracked by a no-caller ID interrupting the table. Then we go right at the third rail of NBA conversation: LeBron James vs Michael Jordan and what “GOAT” even means. We argue stats, defense, rule changes, and longevity, and we admit the real issue is how different eras get judged by different standards. If you love NBA history, playoff basketball, or just hearing friends debate without polishing every word, this section is for you. From there it opens up into stories and community: a deployment memory that still makes us laugh, draft talk through the lens of parenting, a live call-in with Casey Harkins, Seahawks and softball nostalgia, burger spots worth driving for, and Tacoma names that deserve more credit. We even get a surprise drop-by from Sam McMahon with tattoo info and quick San Diego travel tips before we close with shout-outs and a Grateful Dead send-off. Audio Motion w/ SamTooPersonal pt.1
LIKEITORNOT is back with another entertaining episode for your listening pleasure. Dive into the sultry sounds of a drunken sailor, as host AHyp, introduces the LIKEITORNOT family to Sam the man, SamTooPersonal on Instagram, in this 1 hour & 6 minute long episode that you’ll keep the earbuds in for as you walk into work or cook or whatever the hell it is your doing at the moment. Background beats by Truss One make it easy to listen too and the fact I don’t edit this thing also allows the listeners to hear it all.. the fuck ups, the rebounds and the bounce back. We talk about Sam’s music background & that time when he was a part of the Seattle rap scene, shoutout to Casual Product, Burien stand up. He speaks on his journey becoming an online influencer, documenting his weight loss journey, being a comedian (by nature dude is just hilarious!) and being authentic. He tells you how to do it and tells us what works for him. Step by step, literally. Recorded live, midday at Pizza Time Pub, in the heart of the 6th Avenue business district, this episode was unofficially sponsored by Rainier Beer. Ironically, Sam speaks on his journey with sobriety, balancing fatherhood and work, all while becoming an online influencer. He tells us how he does it, how he maintains and how he presses forward. A funny but truly inspiring episode. The sky was blue all day and Rick kept the Rainier’s coming all show, this was a fun one. The Opening Day episodes pt.1
LIKEITORNOT is back! It was Opening Day and I met Big John at the Pub on 6th. Ave and had a blast recording in the window, the sun was shinin’, we were people watchin’, shit talkin’, it just another episode where we give our hot takes on the Sweet 16, we talk Mariners baseball and what our thoughts and expectations may be for the boys this season, we talk about Terry’s Office Tavern’s classic bar food and how steady they’ve been at pumping out some of the best bar food in town. Again, Big John was co-hosting and he works there ha ha. We talk about softball and the impact it’s had on our lives lol. We get a cameo from Bryce, a Matchless Brewing rep who blessed us with 3 personal cans of the newly released FOMO IPA. Thank yall so much that was a beautiful gesture. Rick the legend, was tending bar, a few other people came on the pod and made random cameos and I was personally powered by the Cal Raleigh collab beer that Scuttlebutt brewing produced last season. The pub just got a new shipment and we definitely enjoyed a few of those, so a huge s/o to SCUTTLEBUTT BREWING! And shout out to you, the listener. The Quismah episode-Kush Mt. Vendor Day pt.2
Astral Trap & Kiandre of the experimental rap duo Quismah join the podcast live from the Kush Mountain vendor day at Diamond Greens Dispensary off S. 12th street. Sean Brooks co-hosts with me and we hit the pavement running in this funny, kush mountain laced episode that touches on the origins of Quismah, how they came together and the entire recording process and how they feed off each other’s creativity to make your listening as smooth as possible. When listening, it sounds as though they’ve been making music together for years. Truth is, they’ve been friends since the sandbox but just recently began this current music project together in this last summer. Kiandre talks about a stint in the film industry in LA and that opened his eyes to how the music industry works and Astral Trap speaks on his recent successes such as having numerous beats purchased and played by the NBA on their Instagram posts which is a major win for Astral Trap. Just a funny & Stoney episode where we are just shooting the shit like regular humans about basic, every day topics. Tune in. Kush Mountain-The Vendor Day Series pt.1
We’re baaaack! Part 1 of a 3 part series where I took my LIKEITORNOT podcast inside the doors of local Tacoma dispensary Diamond Greens and sat down with the bud extraordinaire’s from Kush Mountain- who held their first vendor day in the Tac town. Sit back and listen to some funny and wild ass stories that are told by the 3 man collective that is Kush Mountain. Tune in also as Mark, Andy and an unnamed associate talk about the importance of educating yourself about cannabis and cannabis products to simply expand your horizons and keep you safe while getting higher than the midnight sky. Also, find all KM products in Diamond Greens on 12th street in the same parking lot as that massage parlor and Flipping Out Burgers is at. The Chef’s Table pt.2-A Manuscript takeover
I recently had the pleasure of having the owner Eda & some of the core members of the Manuscript restaurant team on the podcast. And with the help of my good friend Chef Lewis of Radnor’s Burgers, some Philly cheesesteaks from Legendz & 100 proof tequila from my guests, this episode quickly became an instant classic. Another huge thanks to Eastside Bill for capturing the moment as well and a huge thanks to DJ QJ of Post Office Studios for opening the space for me once again. As some of you may already know, Manuscript has ditched the old school style a kitchen has been known to be ran and has instead, installed a new, conventional, teamwork style that has all chefs seeing eye to eye. From new recipe items on the food menu to new drinks on the cocktail menu, this spot works as a team and consult with each other on everything. You feel it the moment you walk in. And it shows in the food. The way it looks and especially the way it tastes. Same with the drinks. Everything done with care. S/O Eda! They did that and are doing it still. If you haven’t been in yet, this is your calling. They also boast one of the best brunches in town-fully intact with local dj’s DJ Semaj & DJ Hanibal who keep the vibe rolling every weekend. Stop in for happy hour to check the place out or book your holiday event with them, you won’t be let down. The Fans of Horror episode ft. Anthony Dluzak
LIKEITORNOT is back with an episode that will have you wanting to listen to it in the dark. Or atleast with a group of scary movie enthusiasts and fans of Halloween because I had the pleasure of having horror film aficionado and true Halloween fan Anthony Dluzak on the podcast this past week. And between him and I and Chef Lewis of Radnor’s stories (who guest hosted with me) we may just scare the shit outta ya. We recite scary movie lines too and shared our favorite scary movies of course and why, we brought old trick or treating stories up and so much more off the wall stories, you’ll just have to tune in to see what I mean. Never edited, just classic, spooky Halloween banter between a group of dudes having cold beverages and getting animated as fuck about how Classic those 80’s horror films were and how we were just so lucky to have such authentic scary movies being filmed in the 80’s. We give up our favorite directors of that genre too. I truly learned a lot from Anthony about horror films in general, again, you just gotta listen! I take the cast off track a few times but that’s LIKEITORNOT’s style, we always get back on track eventually! Anthony speaks on "Friday Night Frights" which is his monthly screening party at the Blue Mouse Theater in the beautiful Proctor district, a tradition that’s been happening for 11 years now! He also tells us all about the Halloween Parade/Street Festival that’s coming up in Proctor a week and half before Halloween. (Which lands on a Friday this year folks!) We talk about costumes we’d worn throughout our Halloween careers and so much more. We could’ve made this a 4 hour episode easy. Hope you all enjoy this one. Appreciate all of you out there supporting and checking out the podcast as well. Also a huge thanks to Anthony & Chef Lew for sharing their time. I also want to extend a huge thanks to Pizza Time Pizza & Pub for hosting me and the crew these last few episodes, your hospitality is appreciated. The LIKEITORNOT Podcast presents The Chef’s Table- a new miniseries presented by host Andy Hyppa & his division of homies who happen to be chef’s, owners or workers in the restaurant/service industry. In this miniseries we will go behind the scenes in the trenches and get basic, lifelong tips in the kitchen from chef’s who have been there and done that. And of course dive into the why. You may wonder why they put themselves thru all that pain? I’m kidding about the pain part (kind of) but I can imagine it’s not easy! Haha I mean, especially in Tacoma. You got the GTG (grease trap gang) and other obstacles hindering small businesses from growing and thriving and making a real living out of their true passion. And so we’ll dive into those ups and downs and allow the chef’s and guests to take us on authentic rides we’ll never forget. Tacoma is magical and so are its people. And boy did he come through! And on one day notice! He also sat down and rolled up some nice fat joints of the Oishii s/o my guy Travis. Anyways to get to the fcking point, I had a Tacoma living legend on the podcast (Tre joins too y’all!) and he needs no introduction so I don’t know how I’m gonna announce it but Dontay Harris sat down with LIKEITORNOT last week. Yep. Killa. The chosen one. Host of the Crucial Conversations Podcast. Coach Harris. A dad, a father, a big brother and a great friend to many. We ate wings and drank Coors lights & Dontay just really opened up & was candid about his journey. It’s truly a must listen to anyone who has ever thought of giving up. In sports, in school, at work or even at life. June is mental health awareness month and it lines up perfectly with this episode right here and it’s not on purpose, it’s with purpose & with that being said, we expedite this one to you and part 2 will be coming very soon, so please stay tuned & thank you for listening & supporting the podcast, LIKEITORNOT 🎙️🏆Background music by Truss OneSupport the showThanks for listening to the latest episode of LIKEITORNOT🎙️🏆

Clean your plate: The Don Dishes episode
LIKEITORNOT is back! This time we welcome Seattle based rapper Don Dishes to the podcast. Don wear many hats and talks about all his hustles in this funny ass episode recorded in downtown Tacoma at Post Office Studios. Local tastemaker 5’ O Clock Rich joined the episode as well as your favorite photographers, favorite photographer, Jean-Pierre films! We started the day off all linking at e9 Brewing Co. down on brewers row for an amazing “Radiator" pizza or until May 14th, you can get your Frisko Freeze fix right there as well. After some food and a few Tacoma brews, we made our way down to the studio to get down to business. What came of it was another episode that flowed like water from start to finish. We let the world know who Don is, where he’s from, what got him into music, his influences etc. We talked about his connection to the Seattle Mariners and the backstories behind how he went about getting his music not only played throughout the loud speakers in the stadium during the game but also connecting with and striking up friendships with the players. We talk a little about the rap beef that’s been capturing the world lately as well as shining light on some of our favorite local food establishments. The Wing Wizardz episode w/ Tre & Torin
New LIKEITORNOT is now live wherever you listen to podcasts.Have you discovered @wingwizardthingz yet? Follow them to see where they will pull up next. Lately they’ve been @beerstartacoma and most recently surprised the Ave this past Friday night and pulled up kitty corner from @djqjandfriends in the Tapco parking lot, which ended up being more cracking than the party?! Almost but the point is, the hot honey w/ lemon pepper sprinkles is so damn good I been talking about it to people but all of the wingz are amazing. Happy to share my experience and of course each flavor carefully and personally curated by the man & owner Tre himself, straight from Georgia you will have to listen to the podcast tomorrow morning and find out more about the man the myth and the legend in the making that Wing Wizard and Thingz is becoming, LIKEITORNOT! Also featuring background beats by @trussoner & an appearance by one of Tacoma’s favorite sons, @ttin_the_great dropping tomorrow morning 9am PST, Definitely part 1 of who knows how many, we are just cracking the tip of the iceberg here, tune in! 🏆🎙️☝️🍗🏁—>Side note: The elusive Sexxi Red is ONE FLAVOR I haven’t tasted yet because it’s in such high demand. Consider doing what I did though, DM Tre or Torin and ask for a personal platter on day the truck isn’t scheduled anywhere, never know you might just get the plug! Another side note: This episode was UNOFFICIALLY sponsored by @coorslight where the mountains are ALWAYS blue 🍻Thank you again for listening and sharing and supporting the pod, it truly means the world to me y’all, LIKEITORNOT🎙️🏆🍗Support the showThanks for listening to the latest episode of LIKEITORNOT🎙️🏆

In depth w/ the Chef, Jan Parker
LIKEITORNOT is finally back with the 2nd episode of 2024, with the one and only Jan Parker! I was nervous for this one but those feelings quickly dissipated after we hit record. We started the day doing Brunch at Manuscript, a new Tacoma Restaurant/Night Club off of a Tacoma Ave. in the old Odin Brewing location. I was hungover. JP of All Purpose Media accompanied us and got some video that we’ll drop soon. S/O my brother Billee for coming down too and taking some amazing photos. Guys, this is an amazing episode. It’ll make ya laugh, think a little and maybe even cry. I teared up a few times but you gotta listen to see how and why. We go over Jan’s whole life basically and she tells all on this Part 1, hour and thirty minute long episode. She’s proof that your dreams can become reality if you attack them with a plan. Overcoming obstacles is nothing new for Jan, being a woman and a woman of color, she talks about real adversity she’s overcame, just a real no frills no gimmicks episodes, she even tells us where she eats out locally and she may have even given some of her cooking tips up during this episode. But you have to tune in to see. Again, no editing, like usual and had some Truss One instrumentals playing in the background to ease our minds. I’m out though, I hope you guys like this one, it flowed like water. Lastly, Happy National Women’s month, LIKEITORNOT 🏆🎙️👩🍳Support the showThanks for listening to the latest episode of LIKEITORNOT🎙️🏆

This time I had the pleasure of having my friend Carl in to talk about a number of things, including our appreciation for the sports card hobby, how important and vital music is for one’s soul, why you should always keep atleast $200 cash on ya & where to stay and what to do when in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Carl tells us all about his traveling adventures, his favorite bar experiences, his disdain for bandwagon fans and much much more. We started the day off at The Red Hot, a local Tacoma bar that serves a variety of local and regional craft beers as well as a variety of hot dogs. Huge shoutout Chris & Buzzerd’s Barbershops for getting our first round! Carl and I agreed it was humbling to be noticed in public from the stream. We made sure to stop by next door and thank Chris. Check out Red Hot if you already haven’t & get your haircut st Buzzerd’s next time you need a fresh cut! Hope yall enjoy this one, LIKEITORNOT. To all of our listeners and followers I love y’all! LIKEITORNOT in the living room
Welcome to the first episode of the year. Just me in my living room recapping the first few weeks of 2024 and giving my two cents on a few local Tacoma food spots. First off, I’m letting you know about the Buddy's Chicken & Waffles x Sidepiece Kitchen Buddy collab and that it is back this week! They are said to only be making 150 of the Buddy Bowls, so make sure to get yours!! On another note, Go Philly has the best Philly Cheesesteak’s in town and I wanted to let you all know that. They got wings to die for as well. I touch on our amazing pizza scene & how you can’t go wrong with Tacoma Pie, Salamone’s or Camp Colvos, to name a few. (I know there’s a few spots I missed but it’s all good) I just highlight the fact that we have this amazing, constantly budding food scene and I vow to cover more of it this year. Remember y’all, I ain’t a foodie I just eat a lot. Lastly, the fcking French dip from O’Malley’s was SO good you guys I’m not even playin’! 9.4 type good. Yes, 9.4. The tunes in this episode were brought to you by Khris P (BBL Money & SHARKEESHA) which I play in the middle and then at the end I play (Finding My Way) by Truss One. Hope this episode helps educate the new Tacoman, LIKEITORNOT ☝️🎙️🏆Support the showThanks for listening to the latest episode of LIKEITORNOT🎙️🏆

Preserving the Culture-A conversation w/ DJ Supreme La Rock
The summer kick off for the Tacoma Sunday Market commenced the first Sunday of June down at the Old Post Office Building and I was fortunate enough to sit down with the man, the myth, the legend himself, Mr. DJ Supreme La Rock. He was also DJ’n this day so we had a limited amount of time as we sat and conversed about his early upbringings and introduction to hip hop, his early and continued love and support of BMX riding and the BMX community and how he got to be a household name, DJ’n all across the world, living a dream that he continues to live to this day. Chariot-The Perry Porter episode ft. Baloogz
This past Sunday, as Mother’s Day festivities commenced, I had the opportunity to host another episode of what is widely known as thee LIKEITORNOT Podcast. My guests that evening were Perry Porter and Baloogz, who are a duo for the first time with Porter’s release of "Chariot”. Out for a week now it boasts perhaps the best features I’ve seen on an album for awhile, (peep the track list) and the sounds and vibe that Baloogz aka Big Splash brings to the album are just so timely for the upcoming summer weather. Add that with Perry Porter’s unique, creative sound and you’ve got straight bangers from start to finish! Play it in the club, play it at the all the backyard bbq’s this summer and especially when you are rolling on the waterfront in your respective city, if y’all have a waterfront to roll, but, LIKEITORNOT, this is an episode you will definitely want to tune in to. We had food catered by the homie @teehalseth of the @theboomboomroomtacoma there was crawfish quesadillas, pork belly bites, this amazing meat gumbo, it was so fire! Passion of the MC w/ Oranj Goodman
LIKEITORNOT is back with Oranj Goodman! Giving y’all another episode that is sure to make you laugh and cry, think, do and rise. Rising to the occasion of the day you are facin’. Meeting the opportunity and the opposition head on. Oranj opens up about alot in this hour long episode that easily could’ve went for three. He talks on the impact of growing up fast as his parents moved the family all across the state in his early years. They lived a life on the streets which led to a young Goodman seeing and experiencing things a normal child shouldn’t have to see or go through. He talks about his musical influences, his growth as a musician and what it takes to persevere through the worst of circumstances, in life and in his art. We talk about his native roots, basketball and how they’ve coexisted forever. Just so much to talk about m, it’s tough to put it all in this write up. DJ QJ joins us for a moment as well, Eastside Bill was back in the studio snapping photos and shooting BTS stuff. All in all, possibly the best episode of LIKEITORNOT to date. I like to call this piece, NEXT QUESTION-The I’m only here so I don’t get fined episode, I sat down with my brother, homie and legendary rap artist Awall aka Two Piece & A Biscuit. Kickin’ up dust on lost projects, pizza, I’m talking Pryor & Wilder & we go there with the old story of HOODSTOCK 2009 & How AWALL TOOK THE TOWN OVER that night.
