Drawing from John 6:1–14 and the feeding of the five thousand, we place ourselves within the story and ask: Are we only interested in the bread and fish Jesus can give us, or are our eyes fixed on Jesus himself? Are we so impressed by the miracle that we forget about the miracle worker? Withness invites us into a life of closeness, connection, and love—a life shaped by the simple desire to be with Jesus.

Drawing from Matthew 5 and the story of Apollo 8’s iconic Earthrise photograph, we explore the Sermon on the Mount as Jesus’ invitation to imagine the world from a radically different perspective. Before Jesus gives his disciples a mission, he gives them a vision—a glimpse of God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. What might happen if the church learned to see that world, imagine it together, and live as though it were already possible?

Drawing from Joshua 3:7–17 and Israel’s crossing of the Jordan River, this message reflects on the courage it takes to leave what is familiar, step into the water, and move forward together. As we cross into what God has next, we are reminded that we do not make the journey alone—God is with us, and we are called to be with one another along the way.

In John 12:24–25, Jesus tells us that a grain of wheat must fall to the ground and die in order to bear fruit. In this first sermon titled: How to Kill a Church, we explore the difficult but hopeful truth that sometimes new life requires letting go—trusting that God is not finished with us, but is continually making all things new.

As The Nett walks through a season of transition, we consider what it means to allow God not simply to restore us, but to remodel and reinforce us for the new season ahead.
