Episode 18 - Admitting that I am afraid

Episode Title: Episode 17 - Admitting that I am afraidEpisode Overview:In this episode, Jay talks to… well, Jay. Today he admits that he does in fact have a Fear of Failure, exploring how it ties into where he is in life, what it reveals about his habits and patterns, and what it might mean for the next stretch of his journey. What Jay’s Talmbout:Jay unpacks:Avoiding what it really is.  He had a round-a-about definition for what he’s been experiencing and doing and never really facing what it actually is. Procrastination and a failure to start has been a lifelong behavior profile for Jay and he’s gotten used to being that way or cool with those results when actually it bothered him. Admitting that he has been his own problem the whole time and coming face to face with what it’s been that’s been holding him back. Why It Matters (to Jay, anyway):This episode touches on being the change that you want for yourself.  Doing it for yourself and there is no easy way out of that. Failure is a part of the program and Jay uses it as a pulse check — a way of seeing where he’s standing and where he might be heading next.

    Episode 17 - 2025 In Review

Episode Title: Episode 17 - 2025 In Review Episode Overview:In this episode, Jay talks to… well, Jay. Today he digs into his Cup O Good News, exploring how it ties into where he is in life, what it reveals about his habits and patterns, and what it might mean for the next stretch of his journey. What Jay’s Talmbout:Jay unpacks:What he was optimistic for in 2025 and exploring some of those ambitions through written notes he made for himself.Things don’t always land with how they were intended and Jay reflects on how that comes to be and what he promises to do differently going forward. Mainly, no submissions to Open-Calls.It turns out alignment was always there. The introduction of being deliberate is what keeps on track. Why It Matters (to Jay, anyway):This episode touches on primarily on reflection and how when you really look at what you wanted to jot down and do, it’s because it’s genuinely a part of your character and make-up and Jay uses it as a pulse check — a way of seeing where he’s standing and where he might be heading next.

Giving More Could Change My Life’s Course Ep. 5

This is a re-upload of an Originally uploaded video In episode Five of The Next 40. I get to talking about the my skepticism surrounding taking what I see at face value when it comes to giving. As I talk through the idea of giving more I kind of end up questioning a lot more than just putting change in a cup or sliding a few dollars to someone’s cash app. It leaves me feeling concerned about my own identity and wondering if I’m missing a piece of what’s beneficial and important to me because of my skepticism. This is something that hold close to my chest because I think what I’m really talking about is bigger and lot more complex than I really understand.
