It's a long road, when you are on your own, and tired & needing something to eat. Probably a bath and a shave as well... The world was first introduced to David Morrell's character, John Rambo, in his novel First Blood back in 1972. It took a long 10 years to get Rambo on the big screen but the rest is now history. Rambo became a cultural phenomenon in the 80s with sequels, cartoon spin-offs and toys.  Today, we disect the first Rambo movie and discuss what would Rambo actually eat if he did get to a diner.

Filmed in 1967 and released in January of 1968, "Here we go round the Mulberry Bush" is a British Sex Comedy by Clive Donner and starring Barry Evans. We follow Jamie in his quest to lose his virginity in swinging 60s London, but deep down he wants to lose his cherry with the love of his life Mary Gloucester. This movie is a trippy self aware comedy with great music by Traffic and The Spencer Davis Group. A film about teenagers for teenagers at that time period.  As Caroline Beauchamp says, it's "Super". 

This time we do a double feature - with the loose connection of a lighthouse and loads of fog. If you're looking for Pattinson then you'll be disappointed. :) Firstly, we discuss the 1972 British Horror Tower of Evil from 1972, in which a bunch of hippies go off to a remote Island for some hanky panky.  Main feature of our double bill is the John Carpenter classic The Fog from 1980. A classic ghost story 100 years in the making.  So join Gary and Ian for another long ramble talking about 2 movies with atmosphere in abundance.   

Ian and Gary get back together to talk about a Hammer movie that needs a little more love, about Rasputin, Russia's greatest love machine. Lee give's a somewhat loud energetic perfomance here in a movie that really looks great. Barbara Shelley is also in the cast, as well as a cameo from Joss "Diplomatic Immunity" Ackland.  As always, you get so much more, as we dive into illustrative poster art for movies in the 80s, talking about a little gem of a British movie called "The Ghost Camera", Ida Lupino, Charles Durning and so much more. The House Was Born Bad. This time Ian and Gary have a long conversation about the classic Robert Wise chiller 'The Haunting' from 1963. Based on the bestselling novel from Shirley Jackson's 'The Haunting of Hill House'. We go in depth for almost 2 hours with this one and then as usual go off in all directions and discuss a host of other topics. Starring Julie Harris, Claire Bloom, Russ Tamblyn, Richard Johnson, Lois Maxwell, Valentine Dyall and Paul Maxwell. This creepy B/W horror has atmosphere, style, great production and a unique score for it's time. Warning: Gary even discusses the Easter Horror B-movie 'The Being' from 1981. :(

In this current climate, we felt it was time for a rewatch of the much panned Costner box office mega bomb, The Postman. With the subject matter of a Militia Cult, The Holnists,  taking over what's left of America and bringing down the remnants of government and society while they're at it. Named after Nathan Holn, a violent, racist, sexist, populist leader, who could be compared to a certain political figure today. Costner stars and directs this 80 million dollar epic, based on the book of the same name by David Brin.     

For our third podcast, we are doing an oldie. A classic black and white atmospheric horror from Jacques Tourneur from 1957. Starring Dana Andrews, Peggy Cummins, Niall McGuiness, Liam Redmond, Reginald Beckwith, Maurice Denham and Percy Herbert. Join Gary and Ian for a long winded conversational podcast about this M.R. James adaption from his short story 'Casting the Ruins'. A British horror movie with plenty of atmosphere, jump scares, stunning visuals, and memorable characters.
