    VICTORY REQUIRES SUPPORT

Today on the show Gibbs talks with team Lancaster Thunder about the universal human need for support. Great victories always require great support. Heavy trophies must be lifted by many arms. Gibbs wishes a late Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there and talks about Jethro and David's mighty men and how they supported Moses and David as they carried heavy responsibilities. Currently the World Cup surges on and you see team and fan spirit on full display. The power of people working together is undeniable. Oklahoma hoists a College World Series Trophy and not one player accomplished that feat alone. Tonight is the NBA draft and teams are looking to add players that create a championship mix. These players entering the league will need support if they are to grow and thrive. Even players in single competitor sports like Wyndham Clark current US Open champion required a caddy and coaches and support from his team to hoist the trophy; he is not alone in his pursuits. Who is in your support network? If you trust in Christ to forgive your sins do you realize you have the Trinity as the foundation of your support? What does that mean for you? Go Make Plays! Remember we are "NOT JUST FANS"!

00:00 - THE HEAVY WEIGHT OF TIME

Today on the show Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about the heavy weight of a clock running down. Watching Game 3 of the NBA Finals or any game for that matter puts time into a clear perspective. We have all had the experience of playing a game you want to win and you see the end of the game quickly approaching. The clock is running down, the outs are quickly piling up, there are only a few plays left. We have all felt that pressure before. Gibbs talks today about the weight of time. There is a sports controversy in the Gibbs house about whether the 150lb dumbbells in Aaron Donald's workout video from last week are real or props. Gibbs believes they are real and heavy just like the idea that time will eventually run out on each of us is in this mortal body is heavy to consider. How are you using the time? 2 Corinthians 6 says the time is NOW for salvation! Let's be active in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and stirring one another toward fellowship, worship, prayer, and generosity while there is still time to make plays on this broken earth. Would you rather be in the arena for a game or at a neighborhood watch party with your friends? At that party Coke or Pepsi? GO MAKE PLAYS! Remember we are "NOT JUST FANS"!

Last night the New York "Villanova" Knicks took Gibbs on a journey deep into his sports memory bank to 1999. Not since Gibbs was 12 years old has a Knicks season come together quite like this one. What would need to happen in sports to reduce you to a 12 year old kid sports fan once again? Watching the Knicks hoist the Eastern Conference Trophy a verse from Romans 12 popped into Gibbs mind. He shares some thoughts around anchoring hope to realities that are not volatile and praying for patience in long growth processes. DON'T DRIFT FROM WHAT FUELED THE SUCCESS

Today on the show Gibbs talks with team Lancaster Thunder about the power of being singularly focused. Excellent sports moments are all around us in summer championship season. Mitch Marner scored a ridiculous playoff goal last week, Rai wins the PGA Championship, a heavy weight match up in the Western Conference Finals, Game 7 in a Stanley cup playoff all providing excellent viewing for the sports fan. The playoff atmosphere in Buffalo and Montreal has been LIT! In order for a person to reach the lofty heights of professional sports it requires a singular dedication and focus to their craft to get a shot at that success. Often once success is achieved it is easy for people to drift from the habits that laid the foundation for success. As followers of Jesus we cannot drift from the good news of Jesus. Jesus came preaching a message of repentance from sin. We cannot share a different message than one Jesus shared and call it good news. Let us not lose our singular focus on how a person can be at peace with the Triune God. Matthew 6:33 tells us to seek first the kingdom and righteousness, God help us to obey.  Go make plays! Remember we are "NOT JUST FANS"!

    DR. ICE & DR. ACE

Today on the show Gibbs talks with team Lancaster Thunder about how the world of sports is rapidly transforming in multiple ways. Everything is measured and analyzed. Golden Tempo is not pursuing the Triple Crown because of his level of effort at the Kentucky Derby. Duke is pursuing its own licensing with Amazon. As soon as young person suffers an injury we quickly take them for X-rays with the next game in mind. Speed, efficiency, and analysis happen quickly and naturally every day. Are we losing the wonder of life as we pursue efficiency and speed? Does Golden Tempo want to pursue the Triple Crown? Have we forgotten that for most kids their favorite part of youth sports is half time oranges and post game ice cream? Never underestimate the healing properties of a hug from mom, and encouragement by name, Ice, Ace braces, and some rest. May we never lose the wonder of Jesus Christ and his power to save, heal, and make well. Happy Mother's Day! Go Make Plays! We are "NOT JUST FANS"! Recover Wonder!

    ENOUGH IS A FEAST

    YOU WON! NOW WHAT?

Today on the show Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about how we handle success! Over the weekend hundreds of young men saw the NFL dream realized and the world witnessed a human run a marathon in under two hours for the first time. As Gibbs was watching these wonderful events unfold his mind drifted to the question of what happens next? What now? He identifies three paths that every person walks down after a mighty victory. He shares Gideon as an example in Judges 8 who succumbs to idolatry after the victory, he thinks of Elijah who succumbs to fear after a victory in 1 Kings, and there is a road less traveled where we handle success with grace and generosity, while getting ready for the next mission. Don't live in fear.  Congratulations to all the young men who find themselves in new cities preparing to steward their NFL opportunity well. Gibbs discusses the gratitude circle that has begun in Toronto and gives the weekly Isaac Robinson update. GO MAKE PLAYS! We are "NOT JUST FANS"!
