R3 Podcast: Will White People Settle for Racism? Part 2

I continue my examination of the shift into normalizing racism in America. The most recent revelations of expressions of hate-filled racism by young members of the GOP party are the fruit from the GOP tree. So what do these revelations mean for America? It leaves me to ask the question yet again, “Will White people settle for racism?” Part 2. Listen to my thoughts above on the R3 Podcast. Will White People Settle for Racism?

I know this is a heavy question, but it’s a question that needs to be asked. In a country where full-throated racism is being barked from the highest halls of government to Christian houses of worship all over America, we are being inundated with racism. Not subtle micro-agressions, but some of the most vile musings we have heard in our lifetime. Things that would make the late segregationists Govs. George Wallace and Orval Faubus blush. Why this clearly orchestrated infusion of racism into America now? Well, it’s a tried and true strategy. Whenever the wealthy have consolidated power and resources en masse via politics and economic policies, there was always the need to placate the masses and their go-to strategy was ramped up levels of racism.Well… that leads us to the question for this podcast. In a time when we’re experiencing the largest, orchestrated re-distribution of wealth in American history, the trampling of Constitutional Rights, the elimination of essential government services, the military being deployed against American cities and so on and so on, “Will white people settle for racism?”The R3 Podcast is reader-supported. Tenn. State Univ. Deals w/ Kirk Debate Wannabe

The copy cats are beginning to show themselves. On Tuesday, 2 conservative content creators calling themselves “Fearless Debates” trespassed onto the campus of Tennessee State University (HBCU). Uninvited and unauthorized, they set up a “debate” table with the goal of inciting students into angry debates that would feed their social media content and enrage their followers. I discuss my thoughts on this potentially troubling trend. The R3 Podcast is reader-supported. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. The DC Federal Occupation: Where Are We Now?

The Trump Task Force was activated in DC during the federal takeover of DC’s law enforcement functions. The National Guard was brought in and the wheels of Project 2025 keep on turning. While the National Guard is being sent home today, the impact of the federal takeover is being felt all over the country. Chicago is next on the administration’s hit list, with Baltimore, NYC, SF & Oakland not far behind. This has led me to do some review and to ask the question: “Where are we now?” This is a public episode. How can the Parable of the Persistent Widow & the Unjust Judge help us in Trump's America?

The faith of many has been shaken with the unlawful mass firings, attacks on free speech, demonizing citizens and the wholesale defunding of government agencies and the services they provide to the American people. This on top of the callous and almost cruel nature of recent legislation and executive orders. Is God punishing America or can we learn something new about faith? I share some brief thoughts on what we can learn from the persistent widow in search of justice and the unjust judge.* Link to Senators: https://www.senate.gov/senators/index.htm* PDF of Senator Directory: https://www.senate.gov/general/resources/pdf/senators_phone_list.pdf This Substack is reader-supported.
