They found themselves. Together. In Baltimore. A newly sober man's Christmas Eve dental emergency leads to an unexpected romance with his older dentist as they explore Baltimore together. And the winners are...2007 Revised Oscars
I took a deep dive into 2007, along with special guests Frankie Sparks & Scott Eisenberg from Shoot the Flick, and after the episode we turned the voting over to you, the people! We agreed with one of the Academy's wins that year (Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men), so only five categories went to the social media polls for you, the listeners to decide on. The voting has concluded and it's time to share the results and officially add these winners to the coveted Revisionist's Almanac. With this episode cycle completed, we turn our attention to episode twenty-six, where I was joined by three wild ones from down under - James, Maddie, and Nick from I Was a Teenage Film Snob - to dissect the year 1987 (The Last Emperor winning Best Picture). We didn't agree with any of the Academy's wins that year, so all six categories went to the social media polls for you, the listeners to decide on. The voting has concluded and it's time to share the results and officially add these winners to the coveted Revisionist's Almanac. With this episode cycle completed, we turn our attention to episode twenty-five, where I was joined by two first time guests, Frankie & Scott from Shoot the Flick - to dissect the year 2007 (No Country for Old Men winning Best Picture). This episode will release on Friday, January 2nd. Thanks for checking out the voting results and be sure to subscribe to the channel and rate/review the show! GMOAT Cinema Legacy Poll Contributor Series: Shoot the Flick
Tom and Dana Duncan over at The Greatest Movie of All-Time Podcast have assembled a slew of podcast voices and content creators to each submit a list of their personal Top 50 best movies - and once those lists were submitted, they used a ranked points system to determine what are the BEST movie ever made. Alongside their weekly releases of the 120 movies on the official Cinema Legacy Poll list, I asked others that submitted lists to share some of what they picked, why they picked those films, and then I give a bit of my feedback about some of their selections.
