“The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans” can be referred to as the treasure of the Bible. It mainly deals with how one can obtain God’s righteousness by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. Comparing Romans to the Epistle of James, someone defined the former as ‘the word of treasures’ and the latter as ‘the words of straw.’ However, James is the word of God just as Romans is. We must receive the righteousness of God Paul the Apostle was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. He stately testified the gospel. However, one of the reasons many people weep though they believe in Jesus is because of their sins. It is also due to their ignorance in acknowledging the righteousness of God. We can be saved by believing in God’s righteousness and by giving up our own righteousness.Why was Paul the Apostle not ashamed of the gospel? We must live by faith What do the just live by? By faith. The just live by faith. In fact, the word ‘faith’ is very common, but it is the very core of the Bible. The just live only by faith. What do the just live by? They live by the faith in God. I hope we will become enlightened from this section because we have the flesh and the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. We tend to interpret many of the Scriptures with our own thoughts, not knowing the real meanings hidden in the Bible, though we may literally understand the Bible. We simultaneously have the flesh and the Spirit. We must live by faith It is written, “The just shall live by faith.” Do we live by faith or not? The only way by which the just live is through faith. Faith allows the just to live. We can live and carry on with all things when we believe in God. Only the just live by faith. The word ‘only’ means that nobody except the just can live by faith. Then, what about sinners? Sinners cannot live by faith. Do you live by faith now? We must live by faith. It takes a long time to learn true faith. What we must realize is that we live when we believe in God and die when we don’t believe in God. To whom is the wrath of God revealed? We can see that Paul the Apostle preached the same gospel as the gospel we preach. To whom is the wrath of God revealed? The judgment of God is revealed to sinners who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, namely, to those who have sins and block the truth with their own thoughts.Paul the Apostle clearly says that the wrath of God is revealed, first of all, to those who block the truth in unrighteousness. Those will be judged by God. What wrath will the wrath of God be like? In this world, there are only two groups of people that believe in God: the Jews and Christians. Among these two groups of people, the former don’t believe in Jesus while the latter does. God regards the faiths of those who do not believe in Jesus as useless. However, the most serious problem Christians face is that they believe in Jesus somehow but have not yet been remitted of their sins. Legalists always judge other people, while they are not able to keep the law Let’s talk about the law. Paul the Apostle said to the Jews who rested in the law, “Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?” (Romans 2:1-3) Legalists think that they honor God well. These kinds of people do not believe in God with their hearts, but with their false pride that is based on their own deeds. These people like to judge others and are good at it. We must be circumcised in the heart “Circumcision is that of the heart.” We are saved when we believe with the heart. We must be saved in the heart. God says, “Circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God” (Romans 2:29). We must have the remission of sin in our hearts. If we don’t have the forgiveness of sin in our hearts, it is invalid. Man has an “inner self and an outer self,” and every one must receive the remission of sin inwardly.The Apostle Paul says to Jews, “Circumcision is that of the heart.” Then what did the Jews circumcise? They circumcised a part of the flesh. However, the Apostle Paul says, “Circumcision is that of the heart.” Jews circumcised outwardly, but Paul says that circumcision is that of the heart. Paul said that people’s disbelief did not make the faithfulness of God without effect. Continued from chapter 2, the Apostle Paul pointed out in this chapter that the Jews had no advantage over the Gentiles. In this chapter, Paul compared the Law and God’s law of righteousness before he talked about the law of God’s righteousness which allows sinners to receive His righteousness and leads them to true life. People’s unbelief cannot make the salvation of God without effect The Apostle Paul says that the fulfillment of the law and the redemption of God’s grace are not given to us through our deeds, but through faith. We are saved from our sins and become righteous through the salvation of God. “What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God. For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect? Human beings have nothing to boast with the flesh Romans 3:10-12 states, “There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one.” We are all full of sins because of the flesh in front of God. Can one become righteous by oneself with the flesh? Can there be righteous fleshes by nature before God? A human being can never become righteous with the flesh. In Romans 4:6-8 Paul talks about the blessed people before God. A person who has been truly blessed in front of God is one whose lawless deeds are forgiven and whose sins are covered. Blessed are those whose sins have been blotted out I give thanks to the Lord for having saved many souls these days. The Bible talks about blessed people in Romans chapter 4, so I would like to talk about those who have been blessed.“Just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: ‘Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin’” (Romans 4:6-8). The Doctrine of Justification is not the truth Paul proclaims by faith in this chapter that only those who believe in God’s righteousness “have peace with God.” The reason for this is because Father God made Christ get baptized for us and even made Him shed blood on the Cross.However, we often witness that most Christians today are unable to have peace with God because they do not have the slightest bit of knowledge of God’s righteousness. This is the reality of those who believe in today’s Christianity. Sinners must have the knowledge of sin first of all Today, I want to speak about the origin of sin. Do not think to yourself, “You speak of the same things every day. Tell me about other things.” I want you to listen carefully. The gospel is the most precious thing. If a saint whose sins are blotted out does not repeatedly hear the gospel to remind him/her of it every day, he/she will die. How can he/she live without hearing the gospel of the water and the Spirit? The only way he/she can live is by hearing the gospel. We must realize the secret of Jesus’ baptism Do you know and believe in the secret of the baptism Jesus received from John? I would like to tell you about this through Romans 6:1-4. “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” In order to understand this Scripture and dig out the truth, we must first of all comprehend Paul’s faith shown in Galatians 3:27 and have the same faith as him. What does baptism mean? We call John, who baptized Jesus, John the Baptist. Then what does baptism mean? “Baptism” is “βάφτισμα” in Greek. It means, “being immersed.” And the most important meaning of baptism is “taking away sin and death.”The phrase “being immersed” implies death. All the sins of the world were transferred to Jesus when John the Baptist baptized Him, and thus He took them all away and died on the Cross to pay the wages of all our sins. Jesus died in our place. Death means the result of sin because “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).Baptism also means, “being washed.” All our sins were washed away without leaving even a bit of sin because Jesus took all the sins of the world on His flesh through His baptism. We cannot continue in sin for more grace The Apostle Paul tells us how the righteous should live after being saved from sins in Romans chapter 6. He clarifies ‘the faith’ again with Jesus’ baptism. Our sins were forgiven once and for all through the faith in the baptism, the Cross and the resurrection of Jesus.We cannot be full of God’s righteousness and salvation without the baptism of Jesus.
