EP: 129 From Abused & Broken To A Healed Healer | Mica Louise’s Story
Rebuilt Series: Season in Blooming 🌸Follow The School of Hard Knocks and add it to your library so you never miss an episode.About Our Guest:I’m a trauma-informed somatic and Reiki practitioner, and I support women in coming home to their bodies after trauma. My work is deeply rooted in lived experience.I’ve walked through multiple abusive relationships, including narcissistic abuse and domestic violence. Not once…. but several times. I know what it’s like to lose yourself in those cycles… to question your reality, to feel unsafe in your own body, and to carry the weight of it all long after it ends.I’ve also navigated years of addiction, and mental health struggles. And what I found on the other side wasn’t just “healing”… it was learning how to feel safe in my body again. That’s the work I hold space for now.Through somatic healing, nervous system regulation, and energy work, I support women in gently reconnecting with themselves, rebuilding trust within, and remembering who they are beneath everything they’ve been through. You’re not too far gone. You’re not broken. How to reach Mica:Facebook“This is the place we get unstuck from trauma, and grounded in our healing”.

Ep: 128 From Competition To Purpose | Daniel Sterlings Story
Rebuilt: Season in Bloom - Featuring Daniel Sterling• Don't forget to:Follow The School of Hard Knocks• Add this episode to your library• Share with someone who needs this messageMeet our Guest: Daniel Sterling grew up in the early years and the wild west of Aspen, CO. Risk became his go-to. A range of jobs – some hard labor, others downright dangerous – supported his early pursuit of alpine ski racing success. While he skied fast enough to land in the top ten in the US, he recalls the fallout and disillusionment of coming up short of being great.A stint in television news, and a bit of public visibility, added little substance to his life. Nor did a determined campaign to write and direct feature films. The sort of personal growth and fulfillment he sought seemed undefinable and out of reach. That is until he emotionally cratered mid-life, and crossed paths with a remarkable and singular mentor. Benefitting from her insights, rigor and skills, Sterling reflects on an impactful journey of self-discovery that would lead him out of a wilderness of disillusion and destructive behavior. In his hunger to live an examined life and become self-directed, he discovered the sort of purpose and meaning that would reframe his entire world view, and in the best way imaginable. The result is his first book, a candid, insightful, and witty memoir, from which the reader may just take away a bit of encouragement and good will. How to reach Daniel: www.daniel-sterling.com

EP: 124 From Incarcerated To In Charge | Tito Guerrero’s Story
Rebuilt Series: Season in Blooming 🌸Follow The School of Hard Knocks and add it to your library so you never miss an episode. This story has several jaw dropping moments. If you need to be motivated, this is the story for you! About Our Guest: Convicted of 2nd Degree Murder in 1999, Tito was sent to prison as a Lifer. A few years into his sentence that conviction was overturned, and Tito accepted a plea agreement for Involuntary Manslaughter with a gun enhancement carrying a sentence of 14 years. After being released from prison in 2009, Tito submitted over 500 applications and could not find employment until he landed on Goodwill’s doorstep. Starting as an Apprentice Truck Driver, Tito began to build his love for Goodwill’s mission and grew his career up to the Executive level.Tito is the creator of the 15 to Life podcast and the #bethechange movement. Tito produces daily motivational content on a variety of social media platforms promoting personal growth and development coupled with advocating for change aimed at improving the communities that we live and work in. Tito believes that everyone has something to contribute and that as a people, we must work together to make the world a better place. He is an advocate for change, for being the person that we needed in our lives yesterday today. Tito has participated in multiple groups that work within prison systems in California and beyond, fostering a culture of care around returning citizens. He focuses on giving men and women a blueprint for success. An example of being the change for himself was in 2016 when he was working within a variety of transitional housing units holding classes and assisting with finding men and women employment. There he saw a need for a better, focused structure. So, he invested his own time and money to open Granny’s House, a sober living, transitional house in Bay Point California. Sadly, Granny’s House recently closed as the property owner decided to sell the property and house.Tito’s accomplishments after being released from Solano State Prison in 2009 include: Completing parole successfully without any violations while receiving a BS & MBA from the University of Phoenix; Meeting his wife in 2013; Purchasing and selling houses in California and Texas; Starting FourWord Consulting (No Excuses, Only Solutions) in 2015; Advancing from a minimum wage entry level position (truck driver) to a senior executive of a large nonprofit organization. The biggest achievements for Tito have been the birth of his daughter and getting married in 2016.“The day you stop making excuses and start coming up with solutions is the day you change your life.” – Tito Guerrero. How to reach Tito: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/titoguerrero/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Titoguerrerospeaking/ Website: titoguerrero.com (under maintenance)“This is the place we get unstuck from trauma, and grounded in our healing”.

EP: 109 Rebuilt: Faith Over Fear | Donna Strongs Story
Rebuilt Series: Season in Blooming 🌸Follow The School of Hard Knocks and add it to your library so you never miss an episode. When you’re in the valley, keep your head up. God will always bring you back to the mountain. About Our Guest:Donna Strong grew up in Dayton, Ohio with her parents and sister. They were a Christian family who loved the Lord dearly. Even though the family's faith was strong, they encountered extremely difficult times and were required to make major life decisions. She learned that even “church people” can be some of the most hurtful to others, even disassociating themselves when they should be uplifting and praying for their brothers and sisters in Christ. Most definitely, trusting GOD (rather than man), is the only option that truly exists. After Donna married, she and her husband also dealt with unexpected circumstances in their marriage that also dictated trust in God for their family. Once again, with an extremely strong belief in God and knowing that HE is the only one to trust in trying times, they were able to resolve themselves to giving their situations to God.She was once asked if she would have preferred not experiencing these trials. Humanly, yes; spiritually, no. As horrible as these situations were, they truly shaped her into the person she is today.
