It was quite the game and has been quite the story for the club this season, going from battling relegation to pushing for promotion and winning in dramatic style. The play-offs are here and in this week's show Alex and Liam review both play off semi-final first legs. It was honours even as CD Castellon and Almeria drew 1-1, whilst Malaga won 0-1 in Las Palmas to take an advantage back to La Rosaleda. There is also good news from the 1RFEF play off semi-finals. Jornada 41, the penultimate of the season and we now know our two automatically promoted sides, Depor joining Racing Santander. We also now know 3 of the 4 relegated sides. Cadiz’s victory condemned Real Zaragoza, Cultural Leonesa and Huesca to Primera Federacion next season, whilst Mirandes’ victory meant that they will have a final day relegation showdown against Leganes in Butarque, winner takes all, the loser will be relegated. For the second week running leaders Racing Santander lost, this time to relegation threatened Real Zaragoza. Almeria capitalised, brushing past Real Sociedad B but nobody else in the top six won. Burgos a major winner as they won their Derby against Real Valladolid and jumped in as a result. For the second week running leaders Racing Santander lost, this time to relegation threatened Real Zaragoza. Almeria capitalised, brushing past Real Sociedad B but nobody else in the top six won. Burgos a major winner as they won their Derby against Real Valladolid and jumped in as a result. This week was another bad one for teams at the top, unless you play in yellow, that is, with three of the top four dropping points and the leaders Racing Santander having their lead at the top cut from 4 to 3 points. The queue to join the party is closer than ever with just 3 points now separating 3rd position and 9th position in the division. There were late festive gifts, with 6 of the games being decided in the last 15 minutes including 3 games being decided after the 88th minute. Meanwhile it was a fantastic week for Segunda sides in the Copa with 5 through to the next round and Granada still to play in the new year.  We are making the commitment to giving the gift of talking about all 11 games across our two main shows this week.
