The FA Cup semi finals served up one classic and one instantly forgettable affair as Watford went through to face Manchester City who are in the hunt for the unprecedented quadruple still! Meanwhile, their rivals in the Premier League had a win down on the South Coast, as did Burnley who look to stave off the relegation vulchers. No such joy for Huddersfield who had Leicester entertaining the masses in West Yorkshire. Another big weekend in The Championship and South-West Europe and a safe effort in the quiz.  Get Involved! We’ve had loads of games since we last spoke. England are brilliant and won their second game of the qualifying campaign as well as moved up to 4th in the world. Harry Kane and Gareth Southgate have received MBE’s and OBE’s respectively and that’s just international football. We’ve got a thrilling title race, a couple of relegation's and battles for the champions league and premier league places hotting up. It's only the bloody international break and it's been brilliant! England are flying and started the campaign with a 5-0 win over the Czech's at the home of football, Wembley. Elsewhere, the home nations were a mixed bag. Wales got off to a winning start with the new regime under Ryan Giggs, Northern Ireland won 2 from 2, whilst Big Mick's Green Army grabbed their first 3 points, as did Scotland in the second game, this was after going down embarrassingly in Kazakhstan first.  Get Involved! We're back and we're coming in and around your ears!  It's a week mixed with the FA Cup and Premier League. Plenty of VAR controversy as ever with unfairness smattered all over the place at Swansea and The Den. Wolves, Watford triumph along with City and Brighton to complete the FA Cup semi final line up. What a treat!  In the Premier League, Salah tries his best to keep Liverpool second whilst the ever dependable Jimmy Milner thinks better of those efforts and sinks Fulham who are competing for the wooden spoon with Huddersfield thanks to their capitulation down in the capital, that there London.   What a weekend! Some fun at the top, in the middle and at the bottom of the Premier League. It's a familiar look at the top, however there was plenty of narrative with angry Italians, diving Egyptians and baby stepped Frenchmen. At the bottom, Southampton and Newcastle pick up big wins, Cardiff and Huddersfield struggle with the latter looking to not employ a random man from Wakefield. Very strange goings-on.   Manchester United continue their fine form with a win at Wembley, Fulham lose without conceding a shot on target and Huddersfield can't buy a win and now they have to contend with finding a new manager as David Wagner graciously steps away.   Yippee Ki Aye football lovers! It's a late one, but it meant we got time to digest the biggest story of the week, no not Burton Albion's rise to glory, big Jose Mourinho settling his Lowry bill. How good is the Nations League? It's amazing right?! If you're an England fan, it's been a superb campaign with famous victories over Spain and more recently, to win the group, Croatia. Wembley erupted, the nation collectively sung Three Lions and we look forward to another tournament (kind of) next summer. At least another semi-final! It's international break so there's the annual October mulling over of the England squad and where they are in terms of progression, personnel and personality! The top of the league is looking more and more familiar by the day with the Blues (Chelsea and Man City) and Reds (Liverpool and Man United) all impressing, Spurs, Southampton and Burnley not so much. And just like that, international football is back on the menu and it has served up the Nations League. Nobody really knows how it will work, whether it will help anyone or whether or not it is even real! But so far, it seems to be positive, for some at least, perhaps not so much England. We get stuck into all of the fallout and of course some positives too from England's first Nations League game, a defeat to Spain and then the friendly win which followed, where England were victorious (just about) with a 1-0 victory over the Swiss. Elton John was crocodile rocking at Vicarage Road when his Watford side came from behind to beat Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool are still standing at the top of the pile, whilst Arsenal win on the road at Cardiff to ensure that the Blues do in fact, fade away. Football bloody football! It's early doors, but it's exciting already. Whilst Liverpool have won all three games without conceding, Manchester City falter with a draw at Molineux with the excellent Wolverhampton Wanderers. Meanwhile, Chelsea and more surprisingly Watford are also 3 from 3. Fulham are in the goals and Arsenal are up and running, but still not convincing. The end is upon us and the final curtain closed on the Premier League season with very little last day drama, although Southampton survived despite record breaking Manchester City spoiling the party. We said goodbye to Swansea who were relegated losing to next seasons opponents Stoke City. Liverpool clinched the final Champions League place and Spurs and Leicester had a right old dilly ding dong at Wembley! It is the penultimate week of the season and with most teams having played two games, it's all but settled now. Stoke were relegated after a loss in front of their own fans, West Brom battled with a win against Spurs, but it wasn't enough and Southampton more or less relegated Swansea in the head to head. Huddersfield shocked everyone picking up points at Stamford Bridge and The Etihad, where Manchester City put on the celebrations for the league win, whilst down the road Manchester United lose at Brighton. There was also all the action on the final day of The Championship which saw a scrap between 5 clubs to avoid relegation, this was hand in hand with the play off places being occupied and Cardiff and Fulham battling for the automatic promotion place that was available, with The Bluebirds coming out on top seeing Neil Warnock return to the top flight. Another cracking weekend with the bottom of the Premier League taking center stage. Southampton had a much needed home win, whilst Stoke also applied the pressure with a surprise point at Anfield. Swansea couldn't get anything against Chelsea, along with West Ham and Huddersfield both still looming close to the trap door. West Brom and Crystal Palace are also still fighting too with a pair of superb results. Elsewhere, Jose ruins Wenger's goodbye parade throwing on the battling ram of Fellaini, it's all cracking off in The Championship with half of the league still having something to play for in the final weekend of the season and Roy Hodgson is having a party. After having their party spoilt last weekend, Manchester City didn't really get an invite to this weekends, however an impressive win against Spurs and a shock win for West Brom at Old Trafford saw them crowned as champions of the Premier League and they now have the opportunity to break all sorts of records. Meanwhile, Liverpool keep the pressure on for second, there are huge wins for Palace, Huddersfield and Newcastle which should see them all safe, unlike Southampton who gifted Chelsea three points. The Championship saw another team celebrating with Wolves gaining promotion to the top flight after Fulham couldn't win, which means wins for Cardiff and Villa means the race for the other automatic spot hots up!
