This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Zachary Helton to the pulpit. Zach is the recipient of the 2015 Robert Jackson Robinson Preaching Award, and will graduate from George W. Truett Theological Seminary in December. The title for his sermon is: "A Story of Hope," and is drawn from Luke 21:25-36.

This week we welcomed Kathy Hillman for Community Gathering for Worship. Prof. Hillman currently serves as the President of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The title for her sermon is "The Call, Yours, Mine and Ours," and is drawn from 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12.

This week we welcomed Dr. Taylor Sandlin for Community Gathering for Worship. Dr. Sandlin currently serves as pastor of Southland Baptist Church in San Angelo, TX. The title for Dr. Sandlin's sermon is "A Death, A Deliverance, and a Gospel That Can't Be Stopped."

This week we welcomed Dr. Duane Brooks for Community Gathering for Worship. Dr. Brooks currently serves as pastor of Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, also serving as Adjunct Professor in the areas of Preaching and New Testament Theology at Houston Baptist University. The title for Dr. Brooks' sermon is "Songs We Sing" and is drawn from Ephesians 5:15-20.

This week we welcomed Dr. Laceye Warner for Community Gathering for Worship. Dr. Warner currently serves as the associate professor of practice of evangelism and Methodist studies at Duke University Divinity School. The title for Dr. Warner's sermon is "Prayers to God" and is drawn from Luke 18:9-14.

For the 2015 T.B. Maston Foundation Lectureship in Christian Ethics, we welcomed Dr. Robert B. Kruschwitz the pulpit. Dr. Kruschwitz is senior scholar in the Institute for Faith and Learning and professor of philosophy at Baylor University. The title of his lecture is: "(Some of) Our Problems with Perfection."

This week we welcomed Dr. Jimmy Dorrell to the pulpit for Community Gathering for Worship. Dr. Dorrell is co-founder and Executive Director of Mission Waco. He also serves as pastor of Church Under the Bridge in Waco, and teaches at Baylor University and Truett Seminary. The title for Dr. Dorrell's sermon is "From the Mountain to the Valley" and is drawn from Luke 9:51-56.

This week we welcomed Dr. Robert Creech to the pulpit for Community Gathering for Worship. Dr. Creech is the former pastor of University Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, and currently serves as the Hubert H. and Gladys S. Rayborn Professor of Pastoral Leadership at Truett Seminary. The title for Dr. Creech's sermon is "Sacred Imagination" and is drawn from Matthew 14:22-33.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Roger Olson to the pulpit. Dr. Olson currently serves as the Foy Valentine Professor of Christian Theology and Ethics at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. We were also pleased to welcome Christian musician and composer Bill Gaither. The title for Dr. Olson's sermon is: "Certainty Not," and it is drawn from Proverbs 3:5-6

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Pastor of the Day Dr. Steve Wells to the pulpit. Dr. Wells serves as the pastor of the South Main Baptist Church in Houston, TX. The title for his sermon is: "The Great Refusal."

Dr. Joel C. Gregory holds the George W. Truett Endowed Chair in Preaching and Evangelism at Baylor's Truett Seminary. This sermon was preached as a part of Dr. Gregory's installation ceremony, and is titled "A Look, a Sigh, a Touch, a Word." Dr. Gregory's text is Mark 7:31-37.

Dr. Todd D. Still is the Dean of Baylor's George W. Truett Theological Seminary, as well as a Professor of Christian Scriptures. Dean Still delivered the Fall 2015 convocation address, titled "The End of Theological Education."

Dr. Matt Snowden delivered the sermon at Baylor University's George W. Truett Theological Seminary's Service of Celebration and Dedication. The title of his sermon is "All the Lord's People," and is drawn from Numbers 11:16-30.

Today, as a part of Student Preaching Week, we welcomed Joshua Thiering to the pulpit. Joshua is a student at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. The title for his sermon is: "From the Depths to the Heights."

Today, as a part of Student Preaching Week, we welcomed Joanna Sowards to the pulpit. Joanna is a student at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. The title for her sermon is: "A Collision of Worlds."

Today, as a part of Student Preaching Week, we welcomed Sean DelBeccaro to the pulpit. Sean is a student at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. The title for his sermon is: "Where Do We Go From Here?"

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Preben Vang to the pulpit. Dr. Vang serves as a Professor of Christian Scriptures and as the Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. The title for his sermon is: "Luke: An Insightful Minister"

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. John Hardie to the pulpit. Dr. Hardie serves as the lead pastor of Grace North Atlanta, a new church community. The title for his sermon is: "Bonaroo or Bust? Love in a Broken World."

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Carol McEntyre to the pulpit. Carol serves as the Pastor of First Baptist Church in Columbia, MO. The title for her sermon is: "While You Wait."

This week, preaching the homily for our Community Gathering for Spiritual Formation and Worship, we welcomed David Tate to the pulpit. David is currently a student at George W. Truett Theological Seminary.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Darin Davis to the pulpit. Dr. Davis currently serves as Assistant Professor of Christian Philosophy and Ethics at George W. Truett Theological Seminary and director of Baylor's Institute for Faith and Learning. The title for his sermon is: "Lord, Are You Looking at Me?"

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Todd D. Still to the pulpit. Dr. Still currently serves as The William M. Hinson Professor of Christian Scriptures at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. The title for his sermon is: "The Call of Jesus."

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Robert Creech to the pulpit. Dr. Creech currently serves as Professor of Christian Ministries and Director of Pastoral Ministries at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. The title for his sermon is: "Vocational Maturity: Growing Into a Call"

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Matt Cook to the pulpit. Dr. Cook currently serves as the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Wilmington. He also serves as the Moderator-Elect for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. The title for his sermon is: "The Ketchup Test."

For the 2014-15 Willson-Addis Lecture, we welcomed Dr. Daniel Aleshire to the chapel. Dr. Alshire has served the Association of Theological Schools for twenty-five years, serving as executive director since 1998. The title for Dr. Aleshire's lecture is: "What Was & Never Was, What Will Be & Never Be: Getting Educated to Minister."

Dr. W. Dennis Tucker Jr., Interim Dean and Associate Professor of Christian Scriptures at George W. Truett Theological Seminary, provided the convocational address at Truett's Spring 2015 Convocation.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Delvin Atchison to the pulpit. Dr. Atchison currently serves as pastor for Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Waco, TX. The title for his sermon is: "A Plea for the Prophetic."

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Stephen Reid to the pulpit. Dr. Reid currently serves as a Professor of Christian Scriptures at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. The title for his sermon is: "It's NOT Your Call."

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Josh Carney to the pulpit. Josh currently serves as the Lead Pastor at University Baptist Church in Waco, TX. The title for his sermon is: "Words That Matter" and is drawn from 1 Thessalonians 2:1-8.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Eric Howell to the pulpit. Rev. Howell currently serves as the Pastor of DaySpring Baptist Church in Waco, TX. His message is drawn from Psalm 62.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Jay Smith to the pulpit. Dr. Smith currently serves as the President and Bridger Professor of Theology and Ethics at Yellowstone Theological Institute of Bozeman, Montana. Aurelia is a Truett alumna, and is currently serving as the Pastor of Spiritual Formation at Grace Baptist Church in the Round Rock area. This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Ronny Marriott to the pulpit. Dr. Marriott currently serves as the pastor of First Baptist Church in Temple, TX, and has served the Texas Baptists on Theological Education Foundation, the BGCT Executive Board, and the Christian Life Commission. The title for his sermon is: "Remember Your Call" and is drawn from Ephesians 4:1-6.

For the second session of the E.K. Bailey Preaching Symposium, we welcomed Rev. Dr. Claybon Lea, Jr. back to the pulpit. Dr. Lea is the pastor of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield and Suisun City, CA. The title of his sermon is "Pure Preaching."

This week, for the W.C. Dobbs Endowed Lecture, we welcomed Dr. Greg Garrett to the pulpit. Dr. Garrett currently serves as Professor of English at Baylor University, and is considered one of America's leading authorities on religion and culture. The title for his lecture is: "From Homer to The Hunger Games: Imaginative Reading for Preaching, Teaching, and Formation."

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. David Hardage to the pulpit. Dr. Hardage currently serves as the executive director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The title for his presentation is: "To Texas and Back."

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Katherine Bassard to the pulpit. Dr. Bassard is currently Professor and Chair of the English department at VCU. The title for her sermon is: "Put It On Pause" and is drawn from Psalm 46:8-10 and Luke 10:38-42.

Dr. J. Bradley Creed, former dean of George W. Truett Theological Seminary, provided the convocational address at Truett's Fall 2014 Convocation.

This week, for the Wilson-Addis Endowed Lecture, we welcomed Dr. Ellen F. Davis to the pulpit. Dr. Davis currently serves as the Amos Ragan Kearns Distinguished Professor of Bible and Practical Theology at Duke Divinity School. The title for her lecture is: "Abraham and the Origin of Intercessory Prayer."

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed J. Brent Walker to the pulpit. He currently serves as the executive director of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, and is both a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar and an ordained minister. The title for his sermon is: "Four Centuries of Fighting for Religious Liberty" and is drawn from Acts 4:18-20 & Galatians 5:1.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Truett alumna Jamie McCallum to the pulpit. She currently serves as the Associate Pastor to Youth & Congregational Life at First Baptist Church, Waco, TX. The title for her sermon is: "The Users and the Used" and is drawn from John 6:25-35.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Tonya Vickery to the pulpit. Rev. Vickery and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Vickery, are our co-pastors of the day. They serve together as the pastors of Cullowhee Baptist Church in Cullowhee, NC. The title for her sermon is: "Leave the Jug Behind" and is drawn from John 4:5-52.

Dr. Carrell is Professor of Christian Ministry and Director of Church Relations at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
