The power of perception
Perception is the ability to take in the world around us with our senses, mainly with what we see and hear. This plays a significant role in our individual realities as what we perceive is ultimately what we create in our world. Our mind is so powerful that can create whatever reality we choose to perceive. This is based on the state the mind is in, whether that be positive or negative. We have the ability to change our own realities if we are willing to change our minds. There are several different ways to look at any given thing in the world. Our minds create the world we live in.

Where's Weirdo?
Being an unconventional person and thinker gets one labeled as a "weirdo" by societal norms. This is due to having different interests and viewpoints life. Those seen as weird usually struggle with fitting into their environments, as society prefers those who choose to blend in. This can be a good thing, however! The ability to stand out makes it easier for weird individuals to be recognized, thus creating their own success. Their path likely involves radical self-acceptance as they had a limited (or absent) amount of supportive family and friendships. This ultimately encourages the path to self-love as they learn over time to appreciate themselves thanks to the lack of peer pressure. Being weird is a great thing! It allows for you to be yourself in an environment that requires you to blend in. It can lead one to finding their purpose in life, or simply achieving inner peace.

Nature teaches you a lot
Nature can teach us a lot when we just give time to observe it. Things as small as animal behaviors, and as large as seasons changing, can show us things about ourselves. Having this awareness of the natural world around us can help foster a sense of interconnectedness; the understanding that we are really all one in this world. For example, nature allows us to know that change is the only constant and that it's okay to change. However, we as humans see change as a challenge or even fear it. By paying attention to the natural world arounds us, we can gain so much comfort and insight.

The importance of energy
Understanding that we are under constant influence of energy is crucial to maintaining balance and peace in our lives. Bad energy, or low vibrations that others carry, has the power to lower our own vibrations. It's important to be constantly be mindful of our external environment to best protect ourselves. Protection come from simply isolating/distancing yourself from negativity, and more practical methods such as smudging with sage and taking spiritual baths. At the end of the day, we are all spiritual, energetic beings having a human experience.

The Dark Night of the Soul
As defined by author Eckhart Tolle, the dark night of the soul is "a term used to describe what one could call a collapse of a perceived meaning in life; an eruption into your life of a deep sense of meaninglessness." The symptoms include deep sense of having no purpose, confusion, hope for life or the future, anger, sadness, emotional pain, apathy, and negative thought patterns. If you have a belief in a higher power/God, it feels as though that divine presence fades away from you. This is a necessary process in a soul's evolution as it clears away the old, self-centered ego to make room for a new version of the soul. Essentially, it is a rebirth into one's true self.

Becoming one with your shadow
This episode talks about how becoming one with your shadow, the parts of ourselves that are rejected, is key to having balance. Our shadow self can teach us a lot about ourselves, including how to gain more patience and strength. This gives way to sensuality, a commonly repressed aspect of Self that is found in the shadow, usually associated with feelings of shame and guilt. The spiritual nature of Naruto Shippuden is highlighted, and I give an analogy about a garden to give clarity to how important integrating the shadow is.

Nostalgia can bring us back to ourselves
In this episode, I talk about how nostalgia can help to bring us back to ourselves by simply re-visiting the very things we used to enjoy in our youth. Things such as video games, art, collecting action figures, and even fashion can help us to reconnect to our inner child: an often neglected and overlooked aspect of ourselves. It is important to connect with at least one thing that we have discovered in our past to help bring not only clarity, but a sense of peace, happiness, and familiarity to the lives we currently live. Let's not be afraid to bring back and enjoy the very things that brought us peace back in the day!
