Branden Collinsworth: A mission of love and achieving TRUE greatness in life
Today we are joined by my true brother from another mother, Branden Collinsworth. Branden lives life spreading one of the most authentic missions of love I've ever witnessed. He is the founder of Warrior Retreats, a Nike Master Trainer, and one of the top mindset coaches in the world. One this episode we are going right into the depths of what sparked Branden's mission of love. Before this mission, Branden will also share his journey from the projects of Las Vegas to greatness both the false greatness that we can all chase in a world of glitz and glamour as well as the true greatness that only exists when in true service of others. We will dive into the pursuit and allure of making money, fancy houses and beautiful and how this view of faux greatness will ultimately lead to feeling empty on the inside. Once yoga entered his life, he got called out by a teacher saying that he had all figured out on the outside but had no clue what was going on on the inside. It was only through the insights found in yoga, that he found that the path to greatness must start on the inside and be rooted in service.Connect with BrandenIG: https://www.instagram.com/brandencollinsworthWarrior RetreatsIG: https://www.instagram.com/warriorretreats/Web:

Breaking the addiction to success and toxic corporate life
In this episode we are going to dive into my inner world of not feeling like I belonged and how that tied my sense of self to success, being successful, and belonging to the group that was successful. This started early in life with making honor roll as kid, to making sports teams as I got older, to a relentless anxiety filled pursuit of success in the corporate world. This addiction to success led me to disregard my own needs in lieu of the needs of my coach, my boss, the company. I lived in a constant state of anxiety for nearly 11 years because my sense of self was tied to success.I was an addict. Here's my story of breaking free.

Speaking your truth vs. Being an Asshole and Self-Expression vs. Performance
In the episode we are going to dive the difference between expression and performance and speaking our truth versus being an asshole saying whatever you want, whenever you want. At our core as humans, we want to be safe, and being seen and heard are two core ingredients for us to feel safe. This core need to be safe can lead is in the direction of performance, to put on a mask, to put on a show that we believe allow us to not just be seen but be accepted. Performance is critical tenant of perfectionism. If you put on the perfect performance we will be accepted by everyone, we will be a part of the group and therefore safe, connected and loved. To express is to allow what is truly inside of us out. To do you, to do me because it is true to us. With expression comes the need to be aware of why we are expressing. A core yoga philosophy is Ahimsa before Satya meaning non-violence before truthfulness. To express to allow what is truly inside out is beautiful, but to do it with an intention, consciously or subconsciously, to hurt or cause harm needs to be called into check. If you are "speaking your truth" to try and make someone feel bad or get back at them, maybe you need to find a different outlet to express your truth.Regardless of where you are on the journey of self-expression, hopefully you can continue to reclaim your power over the critics inside and out, stay open, and feel free to be you.

A Message of Compassion and Empathy for Israel and Palestine
In a time of great sadness as the events of the last 48 in Israel and Palestine unfold, I had a choice, a choice that I am privileged and entitled to even be able to make. My choice was to ...1) turn it off, delete Instagram for the next couple weeks or month, stay off Youtube. I can just put my head in the sand and ignore it until the next new cycle2) I can play the let's share meme's and videos adding intentionally or unintentionally to division of the world3) I can speak on this matter and share what is in my heartI chose three. So here is me, not knowing, not trying to know, being vulnerable, hoping to bring humans together in the only way I know how, using my voice the only way I know how.Can we find compassion to stop cycle of one loss leading to more losses?

Yogi goes back to the gym
You don't look like a yoga teacher is something I get a lot. But what does a yoga teacher look like? What does a yogi look like? The answer for me is someone who is committed to their practice, the practice of connecting to ourselves, atman - true self, to in return connect on a deeper level to everything else around us, brahman - the infinite universe. What this practice is may look like the varying styles of yoga we see on the mat: vinyasa, power yoga, ashtanga, hatha, yin, kundalini, etc. Each of these practices have different intentions that can all serve us in different ways at different moments in our lives.Sometimes doing the same practice serves us best, but sometimes it is what we have become comfortable with. Our brain pre-schedules that dopamine hits we get from completing the preprogrammed task/routine. So I decided at the age of 37 to mix it up a little bit and take my practice on the mat and expand it back to the gym and strength training. Taking nearly 6 year off from strength training, here is my reflection on "The yogis return to the gym".

Being a "REAL" Man ... Lost again in a world of SHOULD DO'S
I am proud of my journey to evolve into the man I am today. For most of my life I let society tell me what being a man meant. My focus on winning, needing to be seen as a winner, and most importantly not seen as a loser disconnected me from my true self. It took hitting rock bottom before I finally listened to my therapist's advice around introspection. Now I sit 5.5 years into this journey, and I feel lost again. Men are being pulled into these two poles. One side is saying don't be toxic, be soft and emotional. The other side is doubling down on being strong rich and powerful, only then can you be "free".We will discuss today how neither pole is definitely right or wrong. I/we men or really us HUMANS, need to connect to ourselves on a deeper left, look past the conditioning and the bull shit to find balance in our own life to truly be at peace and then ultimately free, free to unconditionally be ourselves.

Belonging and the core human need for connection
We are DNA coded for belonging. We as humans yearn to belong for belonging is a very special type of connection, so we look to feel a sense of belonging for deep down it represents safety and love.As the need to belong is core to our being, we must find peace in times closeness as well as in times of spaciousness, for both of these will happen in our life. If we don't find this peace we risk our authenticity and integrity in exchange for attachment, connection, and belonging.

Robin Seeger: Empowering ourselves to go within, all the answers already exist within
Today, I am joined by my good friend and all around amazing human Robin Seeger. He is a compassionate husband, father of 2, intuitive mentor, Shamanic Reiki Healer, and published bestselling author. He retired from what might have looked like a perfect life to the outside world, but in return, he reconnected to himself and his family. After leaving the safety of his high paying job and the familiar surroundings of Vancouver, Canada, he and his family embarked on a healing journey of reflection and self-discovery which allowed him to find his true calling of being a leader and mentor in Bali. This discussion gets so good so quick as we dive right into the deep exploring "GOING WITHIN". As life teaches to look outside ourselves for answers, we we never taught to go within to look within. From regulating our nervous system, to love, to overcoming limiting beliefs, it is all possible within each of us. This also doesn't mean that what is outside isn't important or it can't help, but the secret sauce is within.

History of Juneteenth: "End of Slavery" or Not? What now 2023 America?
Today we dive into the history of Juneteenth (please accept my apologies for consistently say 1965 instead of 1865), a day in which it took an army nearly 6 months after the surrendering of the confederacy to ensure slaves in Texas knew they were free.We will dive into the mindset of a freed slave and discuss if being granted freedom from enslavement equals true freedom and equality while also looking into the mindset of white America, specifically the mindset of pro slavery, pro-confederacy, white America. If something is taken from your that you believe is unjust, what is your view on that thing and that new law?If you were willing to go to war to keep your right to own another human being, if you believe in that right that you are willing to kill or be killed for it, how do those views change once the war is lost? How are those view pasted down to you children, children's children, and so on and so on?

"Being Woke", Wokism vs. Anti-Wokism War, and the beauty of becoming awakened
Today we dive into the surprisingly divisive word/term/movent that is “WOKISM” & “anti-WOKISM”. We will breakdown the definitive beauty that is becoming awakened as well as how humans at our core yearn to just be free and safe. With the suppression of the later throughout history and the rise of media platforms that give anyone with an internet connection a voice, we are seeing, at least in the “western” world, voices that are becoming more and more polarizing and divisive because that’s what draws attention, gets clicks, and fulfills that need to be seen and heard. Additionally, we discuss both sides this woke vs. anti-woke argument, look at valid and going a little to far points of the “the left” or woke ideologies, along with the conservative agenda to demonize wokism to held ensure the status quo power system stays in place. We will touch on topics such a feminism, racism, and LGBTQ+ rights along with gender identity discussion.

Intro to Being (hu)MAN
The journey to create this podcast had been a long one full of all the standard trials and tribulations that come with a heart creation. From the pure beauty the concept of the creation to all the ways perfectionism creeps in and creates a year plus of procrastination. From what do I call to I need all the right equipment to how do I separate audio file from a video file (which is actually quite easy) to figuring out the "perfect" name...Here we are with 'Being (hu)MAN with Chris Walker'. Originally, I was going to call this podcast Being a Real Man, but I realised that so much of my journey in trying to be the man that I want to be versus the man that I thought or was told I was supposed to be are not just "man/men" issues they are huMAN issues. So here we go. Let's talk about being human, and not just any human, but the human being you truly want to me, the human being you truly already are.
