A Conversation with VIVIAN LOK
I had the pleasure of chatting with Vivian Lok, whose latest single "Me" is not just a song, it's a reflection of her journey. After a transformative trip to Bali, she found the courage to look inward and pen lyrics that speak to her heart. Her approach? Rather than spill every detail of her struggles, she uses colors and emotions to convey her experiences-like turning dark moments into a beautiful melody. A Conversation with SUZ CONTROL
"Music has always been my first love. I was always singing—it was my favorite thing to do growing up in the Midwest. I sang in choir and received positive feedback, but I was too shy to take center stage and that love became dormant over the years. After I moved to LA, I started to come out of my shell. My friend Shitty Princess, an LA-based DJ and producer, showed me that releasing music as an independent artist was actually possible. Seeing her do it inspired me to start creating music. I started with 90’s EDM remixes and now I’m creating pop originals alongside my day job in marketing. I love performing and connecting with audiences and I’ve performed at festivals and shows in LA and nationwide. Making music and performing makes me the happiest! A Conversation with ROSE WHITE
Rose White is a Polish born and London based singer-songwriter that playfully mixes neo-soul with pop and hints of jazz. What stands out in her craft are the raspy vocals, previously compared to the likes of Joy Crookes, Paloma Faith and Olivia Dean as well as honest and often blunt writing that expresses truths in a charmingly relatable way. A perfect example of the above is her sophomore EP released in April this year titled 'A Night With A Sazerac' which Rose celebrated with not one, but two sold-out release parties in London.Coming to London 9 years ago with nothing but £300 and two suitcases, Rose has successfully worked towards paving her way into the industry by playing numerous open-mics, support slots, small clubs to finally headlining bigger spaces with her band. She's been shown support from Help Musicians Organisation, BBC Radio 1's Jodie Bryant, Wonderland Magazine, CLASH Magazine, Sofar Sounds Community, Global Soul and many more, supporting her craft.Follow ROSE WHITE here :Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/rosewhiteldnTwitter/X : https://x.com/rosewhiteldnFacebook : https://www.facebook.com/rosewhiteldnSpotify : https://open.spotify.com/artist/2w8BGfmXyEmnOpDopRVx56Follow Mark-Xtreme here :Twitter / X : https://twitter.com/XtremeBpmInstagram : https://www.instagram.com/djmarkxtreme/Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/DjMarkXtreme/TikTok : https://www.tiktok.com/@djmarkxtreme

A Conversation with MATHILDE WIDDING
There is a specific kind of grit forged only in the Arctic North, and Mathilde Widding carries it in every note. Emerging from Tromsø with a voice that feels like a rediscovered classic, Widding doesn’t just sing soul —she delivers it with an authority reminiscent of the genre’s golden era, wrapped in a raw, modern nerve. Since her 2022 debut "Halfway," Mathilde has meticulously carved a path where 60s nostalgia meets contemporary R&B. Her artistry is defined by contrast, the playful sophistication of jazz meeting the heavy, visceral groove of the blues. With "My Mr. Right," "Spells Me Under," "Good Grief" and "Burning Pockets of Love" all earning spots on New Music Friday Norway, and "Tangled Up in Blue" featured on the Vinyl Moon LP (Vol. 103), she has proven that true soul knows no borders. Her latest era, led by the single "Burning Pockets of Love," finds her at her most vulnerable. Recorded at SAYWORD Records, the track is a soul-drenched anthem —gritty, honest, and fueled by a defiant blues-rock edge. Following a string of sold-out shows across 2025 and 2026, Mathilde has solidified her reputation as a magnetic performer who commands a room with either a delicate hush or a soul-stirring roar. As she prepares her debut full-length album, the focus remains on the 'feeling' —capturing a timeless heartbeat and making it entirely her own. "Burning Pockets of Love" is available on all streaming platforms worldwide on April 24, 2026.Follow Mathilde Widding here :Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/mathildewidding?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y%3DFacebook : https://www.facebook.com/mathilde.johnsenwidding.9Spotify : https://open.spotify.com/artist/7yiilgx7kKijTeHJs2FoWbFollow Mark-Xtreme here :Twitter / X : https://twitter.com/XtremeBpmInstagram : https://www.instagram.com/djmarkxtreme/Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/DjMarkXtreme/TikTok : https://www.tiktok.com/@djmarkxtreme

A Conversation with JUJU WALKER
JuJu Walker sings for the seekers, the skeptics, and the souls longing for love, grace, and truth. Her music sits between faith and feeling—soulful, honest, and unfiltered—giving language to emotions many carry but rarely name.Born in Hawaiʻi and raised between Hawaiʻi and Detroit, Michigan, JuJu’s upbringing was shaped by movement, contrast, and culture. That duality lives in her sound, blending gospel roots with soul, hip-hop, and alternative R&B to create music that feels intimate, grounded, and deeply reflective.Raised in the church as a preacher’s daughter, JuJu learned early that grace had always been keeping her—even when stress, rejection, and expectation tried to pull her away from God. Labeled a rebel after becoming a young mother, she searched for love and meaning in places that lacked substance and left her hollow. Yet through every detour, God’s strength, ability, and perfect love continued to call her back—not to shame, but to remembrance. Her songs move like conversations and surrender sessions with God—sung prayers shaped by mercy, resilience, and truth. Through her music, JuJu reminds listeners that grace doesn’t arrive late; it has been present from the beginning, steady and unwavering, leading hearts home in love.www.jujuwalkermusic.comFollow Mark-Xtreme here :Twitter / X : https://twitter.com/XtremeBpmInstagram : https://www.instagram.com/djmarkxtreme/Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/DjMarkXtreme/TikTok : https://www.tiktok.com/@djmarkxtreme

This experience has shaped his understanding of vocal arranging and music production. Leah was born in Detroit, MI and was raised in Milwaukee, WI. She was a vital part of the music ministry at her father's church, where she played the keyboard and organ, led praise and worship, and directed the choir alongside her mother. Dre and Leah have individually and collectively had the opportunity to perform with artists such as Marcus Cole, Jonathan Dunn, Maurette Brown-Clark, Crystal Aiken, and VaShawn Mitchell. In 2006, Dre moved to Milwaukee, WI and met his true love, Leah in 2008 and on May 15, 2009, Dre and Leah were married. They continued singing individually after marriage, but it was undeniable that they shared something unique and special as a duo. Aware of the uncanny ability to work well together on major projects and events, they officially formed the group duo Dre & Leah in 2010. Leah wrote "With Christ I Can" to encourage anyone who may be dealing with insecurity. In 2011, Dre & Leah released the song as their debut single. In the midst of a growing family, Dre & Leah continued to pursue their passion for music. In 2016, Leah graduated from Full Sail University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Production. Dre & Leah then relocated to Cleveland, OH in 2019 and became Worship Pastors, which helped them develop a heart for leadership and connecting with others. The same year, Dre & Leah released a Christmas EP called "Christmas With Friends" featuring Sharon Ann, Kateri B, Marcus McFarlin, and Life Church Music, all artists from the Milwaukee, WI area. Dre & Leah wanted to represent "home" in a major way with people who have positively influenced their musical journey. A Conversation with MISS ANJ
Miss ANJ (proncounced An-jay), an emerging songwriter and performing artist, based in the UK. Born in Rotterdam to Indo-Caribbean parents, ANJ’s childhood was a blend of contrasts. On one side was a household shadowed by domestic violence and an environment of pervasive racism; on the other, a vibrant family culture of live-band medleys, DJ mashups, and a kitchen rich with flavours from Africa, Asia and the Indigenous Caribbean. By eight, ANJ felt a magnetic pull towards music. However, growing up in a rural setting offered few opportunities to cultivate her talent. After completing her studies, she moved to Paris to pursue her performing dream as a full-time dancer. While making her mark on stages and teaching classes, she connected with French-Caribbean artists, where she finally learned to produce music. In 2018, her debut single Won’t Forget soared to No. 2 on the Suriname charts, establishing her as a name to watch. Since then, she has built an impressive discography, including a seven-piece EP “LIGHT UP”, filled with chart-topping singles across the Caribbean along with her latest single ‘Rimshot’. With her early influences being Diana King, Lauryn Hill, Sean Paul, Brick & Lace, Rupee and more, her sound is divers and empowering. Along with her magnetic stage presence, she’s captivated audiences of up to 7,000 across Europe and the Caribbean, including at festivals in the Netherlands, France, Spain, Germany, and the UK. Her ultimate dream is to share the stage with artists such as those who inspire her. Coupled with a humanitarian heart, is what makes Miss ANJ an emblem, rising in the new era of Reggae/Caribbean music. A Conversation with CAMILLE MILLER
Mark-Xtreme interviews Camille Miller, who shares her musical journey, including her involvement in the Major Kami project, a tribute to David Bowie, and her new album, Shadows and Lines. Camille discusses the collaborative nature of her work, the unique processes involved in creating her music, and her experiences living in various countries. The conversation highlights the importance of community in music and the creative processes that shape her art.Since recording her first album on cassette tape in 1994, Camille Miller has spent the intervening years mastering her craft. Influenced by the raw authenticity of artists like Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, and Leonard Cohen, her songwriting balances introspection with storytelling, and her back catalogue is a beautifully crafted blend of folk, rock, and pop that feels both timeless and current. Now, with a new album on the horizon, Camille Miller continues their quest to write the “perfect pop song” in her own unique style – a journey that may never end but one she is more than happy to pursue for life. Her music carries the heart and soul of someone who’s lived through many worlds, with lyrics that capture the complexity of human emotions and melodies that stay with you long after the song ends. Born on a Canadian military base in Germany but raised amidst the rugged beauty of Vancouver Island, and various locations around the world, Camille Miller is a singer-songwriter whose music draws from a lifetime of diverse experiences and eclectic influences. Now based in Lisbon, Portugal, Camille Miller’s journey into music began early, surrounded by her mother’s extensive soul and ‘70s pop record collection. Childhood afternoons were spent gazing at Carole King’s Tapestry album cover while absorbing the sounds of Aretha Franklin, Jackson 5, and Nina Simone, setting the stage for her lifelong love affair with music. From the moment she learned to sing Bay City Rollers’ Saturday Night and devoured the Fame soundtrack as a kid, Camille Miller knew she was destined for the stage. Clarinet lessons and a stint in the Canadian Military Marching Band saw her hone her craft further, but it wasn’t until picking up the guitar and discovering the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and Queen that she began to carve out her own path as a songwriter. Camille Miller spent ten years fronting a full-time cover band (1998–2008), which allowed her to explore a range of styles, sharpen their skills, and fund her own original recordings. This deep knowledge of music, garnered from years of performing other artists’ songs, has enriched her own unique sound, enabling her to transcend genres and speak to listeners across generations and borders. She has worked with the likes of Nicholas Haggar, with whom she wrote and recorded her first three albums, Doug Elliot (Odds), Pat Steward (Bryan Adams), and has contributed as a writer and vocalist to a host of major label albums in both North America and Europe. A Conversation with MILO Z
Carson Daly dubbed him a "New York Institution!" For nearly 3 decades, Milo Z has been bringing his own original style of music , "Razzamofunk" (a blend of Rock, Rap, R&B, Jazz, and Funk) to the Big Apple and the world. Born and raised on New York City's Lower East Side, Milo got his start in music at the age of 13 after he and a buddy lifted some drums off the back of a U-Haul truck. "I didn't know it at the time, but my juvenile delinquency actually led me to a place where I was to find some direction in my life, and that direction was music."Fast forward a few years from that fateful day and Milo would be all over NYC making his living as a drummer and part-time bicycle messenger. Soon, though, drumming wasn't enough and Milo stepped out from behind the kit and began rapping as Milo Z the white rapper from Avenue D! This eventually led to singing and song writing and becoming a frontman/band leader and the rest is history.Milo Z prides himself on his live show whether playing in a small club, a large amphitheater, or a corporate/private event. "It's my goal to get everyone up on their feet and dancing and feeling like they got lost for a while. Then I know I've done my job."Milo Z has 5 CD's to date. The first (Basic Need to Howl) was released on the Mercury Polygram label. He has 2 live CD's, one of which (Milo Z Up On the Hill Live in Athens, Greece) is also a DVD that was recorded at the famous Lycabettus Theater in Athens! Milo Z is currently working on a new studio CD that will be released sometime in 2017. Milo also recently finished writing a book about his life growing up in the L.E.S. (now the East Village) and his journey into music that he is seeking to publish.Milo Z continues to perform regularly in New York and abroad and to see him in action is to experience a true entertainer. Whether it's directing his band, dancing like a mad man, or doing call and response with the audience, to watch Milo Z and his band in action is to experience something unique and original.
