To the Table

Welcome To the Table, a podcast where real conversations meet meaningful connections. Hosted by Kathryn Collier and Jenna Johnson, this show is all about the importance of finding community while living life with purpose. As we journey together, we'll explore the power of relationships, vulnerability, and shared faith. Whether you're seeking encouragement, deep discussions, or simply a place to belong, we invite you to pull up a seat at the table. Let's chat about the highs and lows, the challenges and victories, and how we can all grow stronger in our walk with Jesus—together.

How can you come back to community when you’ve been let down?

Welcome To the Table. As you’ll soon hear, “church hurt” is a pretty weighty topic, especially now. In this episode, we’re talking about how you can come back to community when you’ve experienced hurt in the past. What is the purpose of the church? How do you enter a new space open to being known and loved by a new community? Our guest, Chelsea Reed, shares her story and perspective on this topic and several more. So, come pull up a chair and join us. ☕ Show Notes 🗒️ From Eden to Eternity by The Daily Grace Co: Link to Study Matthew 7: 3-5 - Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.   Want to find the resources shared here and help support the ministry of the podcast? How can you show up authentically in non-faith spaces?

Welcome To the Table. Are you ever in a space or community that isn’t faith-centered? Maybe you work in a place where faith isn’t mentioned often? Or you sit in the bleachers surrounded by people who may or may not believe in Jesus? In this episode, we’re talking about what it looks like to show up authentically, in all spaces, and love the people around you. This feels like a common theme, but we’re talking about so many other things today too, so grab a seat and join us for this week’s conversation ☕ Show Notes 🗒️ Blue Letter Bible - https://www.blueletterbible.org/   Want to find the resources shared here and help support the ministry of the podcast? What does it look like to foster new community?

Welcome To the Table. Anyone find themselves in a new community lately? Maybe you’ve started a new job, moved to a new school, or joined a new team. Maybe you’ve just started going to a new Bible study, joined toddler time at the library, or reconnecting with a group of friends from a past season. There’s a lot of opportunities to foster new community. My guest this week, Jess Clemons, is here to talk about what that looks like to start a new community and encourage other women who may be in a similar season. As always, we’re not just talking about community. We’re chatting about busy-ness, prayer, time with God, relationships, spiritual warfare, etc. So, let’s get into it. How to find community when it’s outside your comfort zone?

Welcome To the Table.  Just based on the title, you probably already feel that familiar uncomfortable feeling of stepping outside of your comfort zone. I’m so grateful that my friend, Katie Racki, agreed to sit down and talk about how hard it can be to seek out new community when your personality tends to be a little more reserved. Regardless of your personality, it can be hard to step out of your comfort zone and into something new. But, He always gives us strength for the hard things and grace when we don’t quite know what to do or how to do it. Grab a seat and join us as we dive into today’s conversation ☕ Show Notes 🗒️ Matthew 11:28-29 – Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.  Want to find the resources shared here and help support the ministry of the podcast? Why is community so important?

Welcome To the Table. We are heading into a new series today – we're talking about why we need community. I know, we talk about this ALL the time here, but we’re going somewhere, I promise. I am sitting down with my sister to talk about what community looks like for us, how they support us (and we show up for them), and why it’s important to live life with others. Obedience in the Waiting

Welcome To the Table. We’re jumping back into relationships today, specifically chatting about the season of engagement. As you’ll soon see, there’s so much of this conversation that is for me and hopefully you too. There are several themes that keep coming up in this episode, but the one that really stands out to me is this idea of obedience – which we often think of when we’re parenting children but truly applies to each one of us today. Obedience to what the Lord calls you to, sticking to the convictions that the Holy Spirit places on your heart, uncovering and applying what the Word says about the way we live – it’s all a part of obeying the Lord and laying down my own thoughts, ideas, wants if (when) they don’t align with His. Be prepared to be challenged and encouraged – you've been warned 😉  Show Notes 🗒️ Dangerous Prayers by Craig Groeschel - https://amzn.to/41Bzz91  Proverbs 16:3 - Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.  Want to find the resources shared here and help support the ministry of the podcast? Waiting vs. Wasting

Welcome To the Table. Life is full of waiting seasons. We are talking about singleness today – we know that we were all made to live in community. Some people are truly called to singleness, and even though we breeze past it, there is such a freedom/blessing in that calling. Other people, though, especially young adults, find themselves single and waiting for “the one”. We’re talking about changing perspectives today, focusing on what the season you’re in offers now, vs what you’re wishing for in the future. Whether you’re in a season of singleness now or you’ve been happily married for 20 years, I think you’ll find this encouraging for whatever you’re waiting for right now. Pull up a chair and join us as we jump in. We’ve got a seat for you 🤍 Show Notes 🗒️ Romans 12:2 – Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. Ps. 138:1 – The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Life with Jesus: What's the Difference?

Welcome To the Table. We’re back with our first episode answering a listener question! Last episode, we talked about what it looks like to live in the world but not of it. This week we’re taking it a step further and talking about what it practically looks like to live life as a believer, especially as a young adult, just getting out into the world on your own.  While some of the answers might seem “easy”, there’s nothing easy about it. Set Apart

Welcome back To the Table. When you hear Romans 12:2 – do not be conformed to this world – what does that really mean in your everyday life? What about when you end up choosing a certain path when other people around you don’t see the point? How do we honor the Lord in our everyday life, pointing people back to Jesus? These are some big questions. Join us as we tackle them together. We’ve got a seat for you 🤍 Show Notes 🗒️ Romans 12:2 - Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. 1 Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 - If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Ephesians 2:10 - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Galatians 5:16 - But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Matthew 26:20-25 - When it was evening, he reclined at table with the twelve. And as they were eating, he said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.” And they were very sorrowful and began to say to him one after another, “Is it I, Lord?” He answered, “He who has dipped his hand in the dish with me will betray me. The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.” Judas, who would betray him, answered, “Is it I, Rabbi?” He said to him, “You have said so.” Galatians 5:1 - For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Psalm 84:11b - No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. He'll Grow You

Welcome back To the Table. It is such a treat to share this conversation with you today. If you are in need of encouragement, I hope and pray you find it here. What started as a conversation about mentoring quickly turned into a chance to lean in and hear some encouragement and wisdom from a well-seasoned mentor. We all have women in our life that set an example for us, whose walk we’re watching and learning from. Thankfully, God designed us to live in community and to learn from each other. You learn from Him, then you share what you’ve learned with others. Just another example that nothing is wasted. If we’ll ask him, He’ll teach us and provide opportunities to share what we’re learning with others.  Show Notes 🗒️ Want to find the resources shared here and help support the ministry of the podcast? When the Rubber Meets the Road

Welcome back To the Table. We just spent several weeks talking about all kinds of things that you can do to grow your relationship with the Lord. But why? Why does it matter? Why is it worth our time? Today’s guest has plenty of proof to show why it’s worth it. After walking through so many seasons of joy and deep sorrow, you can believe her when she says it matters. It all matters. It all counts. He will use it all to grow us closer to him.  Show Notes 🗒️ Bible Recap by Tara Leigh Cobble - https://amzn.to/4pQmSB3  Want to find the resources shared here and help support the ministry of the podcast? Back to Basics: Quick Recap

Welcome back To the Table. The title gives this one away – which, I guess most titles do. Anyways, we are sitting down together to talk about some of our biggest takeaways from these last several weeks and some new things we’re putting into practice on a more regular basis. Key theme: every bit counts. The Lord knows your heart and he’ll use whatever you commit to him – for his glory and for your good.  Show Notes 🗒️ Hebrews 10:23-25 - Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. Welcome back To the Table. Thank you for joining us for this week’s conversation. Today, we’re talking about serving others. What a perfect conversation during the “most wonderful time of year”. Our guest shares how serving others grows your relationship with the Lord and how He can (and will) use us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Proverbs 11:25 - Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”  Acts 20:35 - ...and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ Matthew 25:40 - And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’  Hebrews 6:10 - For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Back to Basics: Rest

Welcome back To the Table. Thank you for joining us for this week’s conversation. Today’s practice may seem like no big deal, but it often ends up being left off the list. We’re talking about rest. As we’re learning today, there’s a lot of different kinds of rest, but they all originate from the Father. Jesus himself tells us to come to Him, if we’re tired and weary, and he will give us the rest we need and long for. There are so many scriptures and resources mentioned in this episode, so be sure to check out the show notes for more info.  Show Notes 🗒️ Exodus 33:12-17 - Moses said to the Lord, “See, you say to me, ‘Bring up this people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’ Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you in order to find favor in your sight. Consider too that this nation is your people.” And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” And he said to him, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here. For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct, I and your people, from every other people on the face of the earth?” And the Lord said to Moses, “This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”  Psalm 62:1-2 - For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.  Psalm 23 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.   Isaiah 30:15 - For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”...  Matthew 11:28-30 - Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”  Galatians 6:9 - And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.  Caregiver Rest Guide: https://tinyurl.com/CaregiverRestGuide  Want to hear more from Adriana: The Misunderstanding Regarding Rest - https://open.spotify.com/episode/6R8hqkWnbDiIoPGyhrdYqO?si=OCez_lD2RKW0b9Qk0rdKSg  How to Prioritize Our Whole Health and Rest as Caregivers Rooted in Christ - https://open.spotify.com/episode/6m4E3PdqrLYk090xSjjlV5?si=3Oj5s9vJTfmq03KE1tuFmA  📧Connect with Adriana - [email protected]  Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Back to Basics: Thankfulness & Giving

Welcome back To the Table. Thanks for joining us for this week’s conversation. Today’s practices are thankfulness & giving – which really helps grow our relationship with the Lord as we refocus on his goodness and trust that he always provides – He is Jehovah Jireh, after all. There's a ton of practical ways to practice these 2 disciplines, so grab something to write with, or get ready to make a mental note, and join us for this week’s episode.  Show Notes 🗒️ 2 Corinthians 9:7-12 - Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Back to Basics: Community

Welcome back To the Table. Thanks for joining us for this week’s conversation. We’re kicking off our spiritual practices series with a conversation about community. We were created to live in community with others – and this episode dives into so much about why and how we do that.  Show Notes 🗒️Hebrews 10:23-25 - Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Philippians 2:1-5 - So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus. Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Why We Don't

Welcome back To the Table. Thanks for joining us for this week’s conversation. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. Hebrews 10:23-25 - Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. You Are More Than You’ve Been Told by Hosanna Wong - https://a.co/d/9smoGQk Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Philippians 2:13 - for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. 2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Brokenness & Restoration

Welcome back To the Table. Today we’re talking about seasons of brokenness and restoration. You probably don’t need very long to remember a season of brokenness and the heaviness that came with it. I hope it is just as easy to recall how those broken pieces began to heal. One by one, falling back into their place until you were whole again. Just like so many times before, even in seasons of brokenness, our hope is found in Jesus. You can count on him. He is always faithful, even when we feel hopeless.  Show Notes 🗒️ Jeremiah 17:9 - The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?   Ezekiel 36:26 - And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.  Psalm 34:18 - The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.  Psalm 147:3 - He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.  Isaiah 53:5 - But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.  Jeremiah 32:37 - Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?  Psalms 103:1-5 - Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.  Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Beginnings & Endings

Welcome back To the Table. This is our 1st set of seasons to chat about together. Beginnings and endings. Can you think of the last “beginning” you walked through? Did you even know it was the beginning of something new? Endings feel different. It’s easier to see the end of something, as the season comes to a close. Regardless, Jesus is our hope. No matter what season we’re in, He is faithful. He will lead us through each and every one, start to finish.  Show Notes 🗒️ Isaiah 43:19 - Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.  Philippians 1:21 - For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.   2 Peter 3:8 - But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  Proverbs 18:24 - A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.   Isaiah 46:9b-10 - I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’  John 15:2 - Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.  Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Welcome back To the Table. This is kind of a mini episode of sorts. We took the opportunity to catch up a little and answer some of those questions we’ve been asking our guests all summer. His Glory & My Good

Welcome back To the Table. Join us as we wrap up our summer series today, chatting about some of our favorite takeaways from last week's episode! There are a lot of lies that the enemy throws at us, but this has been such a sweet reminder of the truth – He is good. He is always there. He gives us what we need.   Show Notes 🗒️ Responding Biblically to Your Past - https://biblicalcounseling.com/resource-library/conference-messages/responding-biblically-to-your-past/   Philippians 3:13-14 - Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.  2 Corinthians 12:9 - But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Lie #6 - My past defines my future.

Welcome back To the Table. Oh friends, we have another special guest on today to chat about the last lie in our summer series – My past defines my future. Our guest, Kinsley Hoy, shares such a sweet example of how the Lord redeems hard things, how He takes our broken pieces and puts them back together in a way that only He can. So, get some tissues (just in case 🙃) and come to the table with us! Show Notes 🗒️ Psalm 37:4 - Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:7 - Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Hebrews 8:12 - For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” John 13:7 - Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Never Alone

Welcome back To the Table. We are recapping some of our favorite moments from last week. If you haven’t, go back and listen to Lie #5 before you keep going. In case you need to hear it again, you are never alone. The feelings we feel are valid, but we can’t let them replace the truth.  Show Notes 🗒️ John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.  Daniel 3:17-18 - If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” Matthew 26:36-46 - Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.” And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch[a] with me.” And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.” And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. So, leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words again. Then he came to the disciples and said to them, “Sleep and take your rest later on. See, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.” Here’s a link to our worship playlist. There is so much encouragement sprinkled throughout this conversation, so grab something to write on and join us as we welcome Lindsy Horton.  Show Notes 🗒️ The Story of Elijah - 1 Kings 17-19 Proverbs 18:24 - A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. John 14:16 - And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, Psalm 23 Psalm 27 Psalm 39 Psalm 43 Deuteronomy 31:8 - It is the Lord who goes before you. He Can Handle It

Welcome back To the Table. Today we’re chatting about our conversation with Morgan last week. I don’t know about you, but it always encourages me to hear someone’s story – not just all the beautiful parts, but the hard things too, and see how the Lord has carried them through all of it. He is faithful to never leave us, and so gracious to give us the gift of community to do life with, the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Show Notes 🗒️ Hannah’s Hope by Jennifer Saake - https://a.co/d/9pB4zr7  Job 1:21 - The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. 2 Timothy 1:7 - for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. Hebrews 4:15-16 - For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. John 16:32-33 - Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. 33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. He Calls & Qualifies

Welcome back To the Table. Today we’re talking about expectations, callings, and grace. It’s natural to take on unrealistic expectations – after all, we’ve been setting and meeting expectations since we were children. However, it’s important to focus, to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and to recognize our own unique callings in life. We need the grace that God provides as we live out our callings, and we need our community to cheer us on, to share truth we us, and to cheer us on. When you’re walking with the Holy Spirit and using your gifts to serve - that’s where the joy is. So, embrace your gifts and cheer on those around you! Don’t forget - If He calls you to it, he’ll qualify you for it ❤️ Show Notes 🗒️ Ephesians 3:20 - Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us You Have a Calling! feat. John Bevere - https://open.spotify.com/episode/3Kvdivyj4UH6L4OKg7iP6Q?si=dad2c7c7261a4abe 2 Timothy 1:9 - who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, Ephesians 2:8-10 - For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. "The Christian Attitude" by Brain Johnson - https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/71525141137469Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Lie #3: I’m not capable. I’m not worthy. I’m not seen.

Welcome back To the Table. Here’s lie #3 – and this conversation is a good one. Have you ever felt like you just can’t get it done? You can’t be what everyone needs you to be? Same. If you don’t know it yet, the Lord tends to use the last person we would consider for the job. He delights in using our “mess” to accomplish his perfect plans.  We were never meant to carry the weight of our burdens/responsibilities/callings/trials alone. Jesus promises that He will never leave us or forsake us. He is also the one who puts us in the place He wants us. He has you in your community for a purpose. He gives us the grace we need to do whatever it is that He’s called us to do. Reread that last sentence again. We pray that you (we) walk in freedom this week, knowing that he who called you is faithful.  Show Notes 🗒️ Power of a Praying Woman by Stormie - https://a.co/d/ciZs1oD  My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers - https://a.co/d/4Ln6s8H The Story of Gideon - Judges 6-8 The Story of David & Goliath – 1 Samuel 17 John 1:26-27 - John answered them, “I baptize with water, but among you stands one you do not know, even he who comes after me, the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.” Deuteronomy 6:5-9 - You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Honestly? Yes.

Welcome back To the Table. We all have these moments where we wish things were different, we were different. You know the moments when you think “this can’t be happening” or “I can’t handle another thing”. Now these are silly examples, but can you relate? We’re back talking about not being enough (and if you haven’t yet, pause this episode and go back and listen to episode 30Y – trust me.) The point is – we are all weak at times. We all make mistakes. We all struggle with not being enough (fill in the blank) . We are all susceptible to the attacks of the enemy. So, let’s just be honest. Let’s just walk in the freedom that the Lord gives us and know that we can’t do anything without him. Let’s use our shortcomings/weaknesses/struggles/failures - whatever you want to call them - to point people back to THE One. Jesus. Why would we choose to hide in shame anyways? That sounds terrible.  Jesus promises his power is made perfect in our weakness.  Show Notes 🗒️ Galatians 6:2 - Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ 2 Corinthians 12:9 - But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Moses & the Burning Bush – Exodus 3 Hosea & Gomer – Hosea 1-3 Leah - Genesis 29-30 Mary – Luke 1-2 Sarah – Genesis 11-22 John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 2 Corinthians 3:5 - Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Lie #2 - I am not enough.

Welcome back To the Table. Have you ever had this sense that maybe you just aren’t cut out for this (whatever it may be)? You get to a certain point in the work, and you think to yourself “this is a mistake”, “I don’t have what it takes to do this well”, or “I can’t keep going”. Well, here’s the truth: you can’t do it alone. Today we’re chatting with our dear friend Paula Harris, as we uncover the lie that the enemy whispers in our ear over and over and over again – you’re not enough. With Jesus, we are fully equipped to do whatever the Lord calls us to. We get to walk in freedom, knowing that we may not have the answers or the plan for how it will happen, but we have a relationship with the creator, who literally made us for the work he calls us to.  Show Notes 🗒️ The Bible Project Podcast - https://open.spotify.com/show/6f2oD3RtQY1rOeyfF2OeOa?si=753f254501bf490a Prayer Journal for Kids, Grandkids, & Family - https://a.co/d/8nhDqls With the Perrys - “When You Hate the Home” https://open.spotify.com/episode/4wYd7t5MKzdmhikrwvPpgn?si=1a8e9df76eeb41f1 The Birth of Moses – Exodus 2 Moses & the Burning Bush – Exodus 3 Eph 2:10 - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Eph 3:20 - Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, Prov 16:3-4 - Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Restore, Confirm, Strengthen, & Establish

Welcome back To the Table. We’re pausing from our summer series to share a little bit of a “behind the scenes” look at the podcast. Our close friends and family get to see the podcast process in real time, but we thought we would share a little more with you. What was supposed to be a sneak peek into podcasting and what it looks like for us, we ended up chatting about the attacks of the enemy, the importance of encouragement, and a few other rabbit trails sprinkled in there too. To cut to chase: If the Lord has called you to it, he’ll give you exactly what you need to accomplish it. It just may not look, feel, or sound like you thought it would. Whether you find yourself on the mountain top or in a deep valley, there’s something here for you🤍 Show Notes 🗒️ Psalm 119:10 - I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Colossians 3:23-24 - Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. Galatians 6:9 - And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 8:44b - ...He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Psalm 55:22 - Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. 1 Peter 5:7-10 - casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Saying "No" & Letting Go

Welcome back To the Table. Jenna & I are back to continue the conversation from last week. If you’re triggered by the title, so sorry 🙃 Saying “no” can be so tricky. We like to hold onto the control that “yes” gives us. But, if you’re anything like me, you know how hard it is to do something that you should have said “no” to. It’s weighty, burdensome, and exhausting. If the Lord has called you to it, he’ll give you exactly what you need to accomplish it. We can walk in freedom because the Holy Spirit lives within us, equipping us “with everything good that [we] may do his will” (Heb. 13:21).  Show Notes 🗒️ 2 Timothy 1:7 - for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6,11 - Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone...All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.  Romans 12:4-6a - For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them... Matthew 6:33 - But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Lie #1 - I have to do it all.

Welcome back To the Table. AND welcome to our summerseries, the lies we believe and the truth to replace them. Our dear friend, Makenzie Williams, is joining us for this week’s conversation. We’re chatting about why we don’t have to do it all (I mean, we really can’t anyways) and how to live a life full of doing the things we need to do and letting go of what we can’t control – which is everything 😂 Big stuff we’re tackling here, but even more of a reason to talk about it. We all wrestle with this in some way, and I can say, it was encouraging to hear how other mamas are fighting against it. So, grab something to write with and come join us for this week’s episode. I will beexalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”Psalm 127:1a – Unless the Lord builds the house, thosewho build it labor in vain.Luke 10: 38-42 – Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answeredher, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Closing Doors & Growing Faith

Welcome back To the Table. We’re wrapping up a season, literally and figuratively. As the seasons change, and as we change, the Lord grows us. He reveals himself to us. He teaches us through his word and the wisdom of others. We’re not just laying the foundation of our faith, we’re building on it. We’re trusting him because he has always been faithful. We’re leaning into the Holy Spirit’s prompting because we’re getting better at listening – somewhat. We’re growing. He’s shaping us into what he wants us to be - who he wants us to become. So, changing seasons may be hard, but it is not for nothing. Show Notes 🗒️Ephesians 3:14-21 - For this reason I bow my knees beforethe Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earthis named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. The story of Abraham and Isaac - Genesis 22Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace you have beensaved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is thegift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 1:13 - In him you also, when you heard theword of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. Here’s a link to our worship playlist. Changing Seasons

Welcome back To the Table. Life is always changing – “foreverything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven” (Ecc. 3:1). The Lord promises us the changing of seasons; they will continue as long as the earth is here (Gen. 8:22). Thankfully, that’s not the only promise – “I the Lord do not change” (Mal. 3:6). While everything around us continues to change, to take on new shape, to need new things, the Lord never changes. He is constant. Not only is He constant, but He is present. He’s with you. As you walk through whatever this new season brings, know that He has never and will never leave you or forsake you (Deut. 31: 6). Here’s a link to our worship playlist.
