Balak - The Shifting Tone of Our Leaders
The parsha reminds us that while global leaders shift, posture, and dominate the spotlight, HaShem’s word is steady and our true strength comes from our own avodas HaShem. Just as the Jews in the story were protected not through politics but through living modest, holy lives, so too our focus must remain on being the best Jews we can be, trusting that the larger outcomes rest with the One who never wavers.#balak #torah #torahfrombraude #trust #modesty

Balak - The Balak of Our Times
In this week’s parsha, the story of Balak and Bilaam feels like it’s happening right now. An evil king hires a prophet with an ayin hara to curse the Jewish people—approaching from three fronts, just like today’s threats from Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen. But every attempt flips into blessing, culminating in Mah Tovu, a reminder that our strength comes from seeing ourselves as one unified nation. Yet the parsha ends with tragedy: the Jews fall into division, temptation, and self‑destruction. The parallel is chilling. After October 7, we saw how enemies search for our weaknesses—and how unity protects us. This video explores why the real battle isn’t just external, but internal: choosing an ayin tov, resisting overindulgence, and refusing to see the worst in each other. If we want to break the cycle of Balak and Bilaam, we must guard our people—in word, deed, and perspective.#torah #torahfrombraude #balak #iran #israel

A conversation about the Charedi draft made me realize how easily we slip into “me versus you,” forgetting that every Jew is family. When we return to that vision of unity, we open the door for Hashem’s peace to rest on all of us.#charedidraft #idf #torah #torahfrombraude #chukas

Korach - A Deep Energy
Korach made some valid points in this week’s Torah portion. The biggest thing that he hit on is the deep energy that all of Klal Yisroel have buried within them. It’s incumbent upon all of us to dig and uncover these wellsprings of power in order to achieve our missions here and in order to bring the final redemption. May it be immediately in our days. #torah #torahportion #jewish #israel #theholyland #deepenergy #power #wellspring

Korach - Techelet
The famous rebellion of Korach takes place in this week’s Torah portion. What can we learn from this famous episode. Was Koach not right in saying that we’re all a holy nation? Why did Moshe and Aharon deserve such high positions in the service of HaShem? We can learn a lot from Korach simply by looking at the first halachic question he poses to Moshe. Does my fully techelet garment still require strands of techelet to be attached to them?#judaism #torah #parsha #korach #torahportion #growth #selfimprovement #selfcare #leader #leadership #leadershipskills #techelet #uprising #government #democracy #israel

Shlach - The Promised Land
The famous episode of the biblical spies takes place in this week’s Torah portion. As the story goes, the spies went to scout the land of Israel and almost all of them came back with a negative report of the land. Given that this was HaShem’s chosen land, He was less than pleased. There are a multitude of lessons to draw from their accounts and experiences, however I will bring one from the Meshech Chochmah with a practical take away for the ages. Fun fact: Meshech is an acronym for the author of this work, Rabbi Meir Simcha HaKohen of Dvinsk (1823-1926). #torah #judaism #judaism #parsha #torahportion #growth #selfimprovement #selfcare #wisdom #simcha #kohen #cars #standing #keepmoving #progress #gratitude

Shlach - Venture Forward
A reminder from Parshat Shelach: the spies feared the unknown, but nothing in life is truly new. Every idea, every challenge, every change already exists in the world — and what’s meant for us will find us. If the land has your name on it, it will come to you. So don’t freeze at the edge of change. We’re all just renters of space, time, and ideas. Venture forward.#change #torah #torahfrombraude #shlach #fear

Nasso - A Nazir’s Change
The Nazir embodies a spiritual truth Rav Kook highlights: while steady progress is the backbone of spiritual life, there are times when the heart awakens with such force that only a dramatic shift can honor it. Like the Baal Teshuva who overturns their life in a moment of clarity, the Nazir steps away from the ordinary to reset their soul. Most of the time we grow through small, faithful steps, but sometimes HaShem invites us to make a bold move—to leap toward who we must become. The Nazir teaches that when that moment arrives, we dare not hesitate.#torah #torahfrombraude #nazarite #growth #changeyourmindsetchangeyourlife

Nasso - Not Reaching our Goals
Life’s struggles often cloud our service of HaShem, but the tribe of Gershon teaches a fierce and liberating truth: whatever task came their way—heavy, messy, uninspiring—they simply did it. No drama, no excuses, no waiting for the perfect mood. They didn’t choose their workload, they didn’t negotiate their mood—they accepted what HaShem handed them and got to work. When we feel overwhelmed, distant, or unmotivated, the path forward is the same: act. Move. Holiness begins the moment we push past how we feel and step into action. When we show up anyway, even in pain or confusion, we declare that our commitment is stronger than our circumstances, and HaShem meets us in that place with strength we didn’t know we had.#torah #torahfrombraude #nasso #truth #holy

Nasso - Creating our Reality
The offerings of the tribal leaders in Nasso were identical in form but beloved by HaShem because each prince infused his gift with a different intention, showing that our inner world creates meaning. This mirrors the behavior of quarks in quantum theory, which oscillate between states of 0 and 1 depending on how they are observed, suggesting that reality is shaped from within. When HaShem revealed His Name as Ekyeh—“I will be”—He freed us from the narrowness of Egypt and opened the possibility of becoming. When we envision our future as though it already exists, we partner with the universe in bringing that reality into form.#torah #torahfrombraude #nasso #consciousness #intention

Lech Lecha - Inheritance
The Torah is meant to be read as guidance to the Jewish people for this very day. I’m this Dvar Torah, Nachmanides speaks straight to the Jewish people of today (Oct. 2023). Lech Lecha doesn’t just mean leaving behind bad traits and moving forward in life, it speaks on a general concept of leaving your comfort zone and coming to Israel, just as Avraham did. While I’m not usually one to make this statement, given recent events I feel more than ever that a Jew is safest in the holy land, where HaShem’s eyes are upon it from the beginning of the year until the end. To all my brothers and sisters outside of Israel, it’s time to leave your comfort zones (which even these days are not so comfortable) and come home.
