Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 148: Neon Dreams

Hello one and all and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! This month Josh and Colin gather around the digital fireplace to discuss a whole slew of topics related to PS5 and trophies of course. We begin the show with the recent news surrounding GTA 6, namely the leak and how we felt about it before diving into custom set of trophies we created for the game! Will any of our misc. trophies be close to what's in the actual GTA 6 trophy list? Probably not, but it's a fun way to creatively think about what the mammoth game from Rockstar may have in store for us. From there we move on to Platinum shout outs of course, pulled straight from our Trophy Room channel in our Discord community. As always we continue to be impressed by the breadth and difficulty of games being completed by our community. Ya'll are awesome. Lastly, we close the show with what we've been playing! Both Josh and Colin have spent a great deal of time the last few weeks on Big Walk, a game which never fails to surprise and delight us with its take on the co-op gaming experience. Colin also touches on Quake: Dawn of the Machine, the new DLC for a 30 year old game, in celebration of its 30th anniversary. Josh on the other hand maintains his push, and struggle to complete AC: Shadows, and gets a couple other easier completions out of the way with Kao: The Kangaroo, and Goat Simulator 3. Thank you all so much for listening, and enjoy the episode!

Trophy Talk August 2026 Special Episode

In this very special episode of Trophy Talk Kevin and Max team up to talk about games that are still only playable on PlayStation 3. Throughout the episode Kevin gets a little trigger-happy with the soundboard and Max goes through a few beers to quell the frustration of Sony’s hubris. First they run through some special plat shoutouts, and then Max sprints at a record pace through the list of games mentioned in the previous PS1, PS2, and PSP episodes of the Mooglecast. Starting off the main topic of the show they each talk about the many obvious games like the Resistance, Infamous, Motorstorm, etc. They also bring up some of the other lesser talked about games like Puppeteer and Mod Nation Racers. Then there are loads of 3rd-party games to talk about like Wet and Castlevania Lords of Shadow. While many of them can be played on the current XBOX, we still want to play the games with the feel of a Dualsense in our hands and to earn a few trophies while basking in the greatness of what was the PS3. They also talk about the many indies that were released only as downloads when these were Sony’s first steps into the digital frontier. Stay through to the end of this very long episode because Kevin has a very special message to relay from composer and game developer Jerrel Dulay. Thank you for listening and we hope you enjoy the episode!

Surviving the Horror - Episode 28: Total Chaos

In this episode, we dive into Total Chaos, a psychological-horror FPS from Trigger Happy Interactive and Apogee Entertainment. Originally a Doom II total-conversion mod, Total Chaos evolved into a full standalone game set on the sunny island of Fort Oasis. Many of the mechanics in this game are unique and are not expressed to this extent in many other survival horror games. Theres a decent crafting mechanic and a lot of different meters to manage to keep our main character Tyler happy and healthy on this island. We will break down the journey through Fort Oasis chapter by chapter and discuss major enemies, locations, NPCs. story beats and dig into the game's symbolism and lore as best as we can. Theres a lot of fun to be had in this underrated indie-horror, come listen and join us on the beaches of Fort Oasis.

Mooglecast, Episode 26 | Specimens | Games From Other Platforms We Wanna See On Playstation

Warmest of Welcomes everybody Augusts episode came quickly for the Mooglecast boys, reunited after only 2 weeks since last recording, the boys decide to record without a guest chair and tackle a topic that is spin off of the PS Premium classics series, with games we wish to see ported to Playstation from other platforms.
We list games such as Banjo Kazoo, Command & Conquer, Silver, Golden Sun, Lost Odyssey and Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection. The front of the show comes with a new game to replace platinum shoutouts, The A-Z game where the boys get the brain juices flowing, Zac kills but Max is already starting to feel the effects of beer, an advance apology to the audience as you’ll most likely be screaming at Max whilst we play this game. As per usual the boys dive into The Record and Cactus Vs Tonberry where Max and Zac discuss Joshuas newest challenge issued to both of them. During the recording of this episode Zac was recording his audio through his webcam so the quality will be noticeable different this episode, but the content remains the same. We’ll see you in September, but until then… Be excellent to each other. Max

PS Plus Game Club - Episode 44 Bramble: The Mountain King

This time Jordan and Krissy join Kevin to talk about Bramble: The Mountain King. This game starts out very innocent looking, but quickly takes a very dark turn into material akin to Grimm’s fairytales. The three of them all talk about why that makes the game so interesting and how the game iterates on the nordic stories it is based on. Then they do a quick run-through of the story and break down each of the monstrous bosses that our young protagonist Olle encounters. From Näcken, the fiddler at the lake, to Skogsrå the forest changeling they marveled at them all and you’ll hear why. They also all agree that this game has one of the best versions of “In the Hall of the Mountain King” and makes incredible use of it. If you haven’t played the fairytale Bramble: The Mountain King, we hope hearing about our experience gets you interested.

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 147: Pelican Drop

Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! Can you believe it? The time has finally come to talk about Halo: Campaign Evolved, as Master Chief makes his debut on PlayStation. Does Halo: CE now 25 years old still hold up all these years later? How did the change to UE effect the overall look and feel of the game? What are our hopes and dreams for future Halo projects that could come to PlayStation? Well, Josh and Colin cover all of that, and a good deal more as they camp out on Spartan 117 for quite some time. In addition to the Halo conversation, the crew of course takes some time to re-touch on the ongoing analysis of PlayStation's move away from physical disc production in 2028. Is the proposed blackout of the PSN from August 23rd - August 30th the right way to send a message to PlayStation, and make a difference? Or ultimately, are the die already cast as we march inexorably forward towards a digital only future? Only time will tell, but Josh and Colin do have some thoughts on the matter, and suggest ways to maybe alter some of the more popular methods of protest. On top of all of that there is of course a discussion on what event is coming up next for the Discord and when it begins, a Trophy Talk edition of Cactuar vs. Tonberry, Plat Shout Outs, and what we've been playing. We hope that you all enjoy listening to the episode, and thank you for your time.

Mooglecast, Episode 25 | The Winter DLCember | All About DLCs/Updates/Expansions

Warmest of welcomes everybody, This month on the Moooglecast, Max and Zac are reunited aswell as being joined by a brand new guest, Ryan (RWolvin) from the discord. The guys start with platinum shoutouts including some very rare entries, taken straight out of the discord. Cactuar vs. Tonberry follows with a fresh set of challenges for Max and Zac to contend with, are the boys beginning to to turn up the difficulty slider on eachothers challenges? The Record makes a reappearance this month, highlighting that fan-favourite post apocalyptic series, Fallout! Max kicks off what we have been playing with two months worth of gaming, including some plats and a lot of menial jobs. Ryan's up next with games across a number of genres as he makes the most of his PS Portal. Zac closes off the segment with a remarkably quiet month only speaking on two games but one platinum manages to be completed. The meat and potatoes this month sees the guys talking all about the stuff that gets added to games post launch, DLC, updates and expansions. They talk about some of their favourites, some wishlist ideas and the trophies or lack there of that come with these releases. We hope you enjoy this episode and as always, be excellent to each other!

PS Plus Game Club - Episode 43: Until Dawn

Kevin is joined by Kristen (TheGameDame on Twitch) to talk about Supermassive's first and arguably best “horror movie” game, Until Dawn. This episode covers both the original 2015 PS4 version and the 2024 PS5 remake by Ballistic Moon. They start off by talking about what made this particular game so special when it first released and how it took a niche genre and elevated it. They list off which characters and actors they love, hate, and absolutely love to hate. Then they rank this up against the other Supermassive games like Little Hope and House Of Ashes and recommend which ones you should play or skip. To wrap things up they go through a quick spoiler filled breakdown of the story and both list off which characters had some of the worst deaths in the game. Again, this covers both the original PS4 version and the remake on PS5, and we hope you enjoy this dive back into Until Dawn.

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 146: A Ballet of Excellence

Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! In this month's installment Colin and Josh dig deep into the recent news stories that have been plaguing not only PlayStation, but the gaming industry at large. Indeed, with bad news story, after bad news story, it's hard to feel optimistic about the hobby that we all know and love so much. While there are many available tendrils to pull on here, the boys settle in around the PS3 storefront closure, and the 2028 impending death of physical games on PlayStation. There are so many areas to dig into here, so many reasons to be upset (or not to be upset), that the conversation naturally is a bit all over the place. Regardless, after the dust settles do either of the aforementioned stories actually prompt us to reconsider if Sony and the PlayStation is our gaming home? Of course as per the typical run of the show we also take time to highlight some impressive and noteworthy Platinum's earned by our community, touch on our favorite trophies we've personally earned in the last month, and touch on what we've been playing. Much like Zac (the recordkeeper) before him, Saros has its hooks in Josh and we spend a good deal of time discussing the mechanics of the game and how it reminds us of more recent titles like Doom: The Dark Ages. Additionally, Josh takes some time away from the bullet hell genre to go and kick some ass in Marvel: Cosmic Invasion. It turns out the title may not have received as much praise as it should have! Colin on the other hand, in anticipation of Doom's DLC on July 7th, and Halo: Campaign evolved at month's end, has gone for a more chill trophy hunting experience in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. While the game may not be difficult, it boasts 13 main protagonists and characters, a time traveling Sci-Fi story, and some truly beautiful imagery. Has Colin gone full weeb? Well maybe not full, but after how much he disliked the Survival-Crafting genre after giving Grounded a try, he just had to try something different. Thank you all for listening, and be excellent to each other.

Surviving the Horror - Episode 26: Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise

Join Colin and Josh as they hop on their skateboards and take an excursion to Le Carre, Louisiana. In this nestled and rural town, they join Agent Francis York Morgan (call him York, everyone calls him that) to investigate a string of disappearances and murders. We meet a merry cast upon the way and the nefarious Clarkson family who rules the town top to bottom. As usual, we give some background information and then do a deep dive into the game play, art design, story and overall thoughts on the game. Does this game live up to the quirkiness of the first Deadly Prem? Sometimes we think so, but other times it's not even close. Listen in to find out why and please enjoy the show!

Mooglecast, Episode 24 | Abusing the Matrix | Speed Running in Video Games

Warmest of welcomes everybody! In this episode, Zac is holding down the fort as Max is on holiday so he has brought in two heavy-hitting guests in Kevin and Colin. They start the show with a look at the busy week that was, with a lot about the many announcements that happened. Platinum shoutouts highlight some of the fine work coming out of the discord. In Cactuar vs. Tonberry, new challenges are issued to our hosts, with Max finding a fun way of making an appearance. What we have been playing start with Kevin as he goes through an absolute plethora of games, including In Sound Mind and Subnautica Below Zero. He and Colin share their thoughts on the new Mixtape before Colin has some other heavy hitters to talk through. Zac takes the segment home with a surprising amount of work, including 3 platinums. The main topic consists of a deep dive into the world of speedrunning. They cover what speedrunning means to them, their history with it and the many shows that bring the hobby to the masses. What games handle speedrunning well? Is there a game that the guys think they could speedrun? And have they had any heartbreaking close calls? Listen it to find out. As they sign off the show, Zac reveals an exciting new addition to the Trophy Talk Network with Trophy Talk Triumphs, a leaderboard hub for Time Trials and Speedruns. Next month, Max and Zac will be reunited and surely will have a lot to talk about. Until then, be excellent to each other!

PS Plus Game Club - Episode 42: Skate Story

Nick Hyett-Schnell and Brady (FatePrime) join Kevin to talk about Skate Story, a single developer game from Sam Eng that was released in December of last year. This episode is definitely not a spoilercast, but they do try to make sense of the story for a few minutes. They instead focus on the tone the game sets with its kaleidoscopic art style and laid back music by the band Blood Cultures. They cover their favorite songs, tricks, and decks to ride on. They also note how well the game mimics the feeling of owning a board and making it your own. Skate Story captured the essence of skate culture and this episode is all about how the game got it so right.

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 145: Reunited At Last

Hello one and all, and welcome back to another installment of Trophy Talk! In this June episode, Josh and Colin are reunited as cohosts and get to catch up on life, work, gaming, and of course trophy hunting. With life being busy recently, Josh hasn't had as much time to trophy hunt as he'd like but still finds time to earn some trophies in his favorite genre. Can you guess which genre it is? Simulator games of course! Colin on the other hand has sinned greatly this month, purchasing two new games and earning a Platinum for a title that may end up being in the game of the year discussion for 2026. Games covered include House Flipper 2, Powerwash 2, 007 First Light, Mixtape, and Helldivers 2. On top of all of that we of course cover our Patron write ins, Platinum shout outs, and other large topics of the month such as Sony's State of Play for June. Indeed we are eating good as gamers right now. So many games, so little time. It's a tale as old as time isn't it? Please enjoy this episode, and thank you for listening!

Zac & Kevin's First Thoughts of the PlayStation State of Play

Kevin and Zac give their initial thoughts after just seeing the June PlayStation State of Play. They initially planned on just talking about their top three games of the show, but there was so much good stuff that they covered much more than initially expected.

Trophy Talk May Extra Episode - What We Want and Expect for the PlayStation State of Play

On this extra episode of Trophy Talk Kevin, Colin, Max, and guest Jordan Vickers gather to speculate about what’s coming for Sony’s big State of Play presentation in early June. You’ll hear Jordan almost kill Colin, Kevin steals one of Max’s predictions, and Max fires back with a reboot of a game that we haven’t heard of, but looks like it deserves a rebirth. They also speculate about the obvious expected sequels and why we shouldn’t see a specific one during the show. Just like the State of Play, everyone should find something to enjoy here, so we hope you love it. Be excellent to each other.

Surviving the Horror - Episode 25: Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon

Hello one and all, and welcome back to another spooky episode of Surviving the Horror! In this episode, Colin and Josh take a departure from the more serious fare they've been playing lately, to visit the realm of Nintendo. In 2001 Luigi's Mansion was released for the Nintendo GameCube and became an instant classic. Audiences around the world were delighted at the ways in which Nintendo could take a "side" character and create a whole new IP with him, in a genre that was largely unexplored by first party at that time. In 2013 a follow up was announced and in 2014 Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon graced us all on the 3DS console. Today, Josh and Colin are playing and discussing the HD port of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, for the Switch. Released in 2024, Dark Moon HD ditches much of the open world style exploration of the first game, in favor of a shorter mission based structure in several smaller hubs. Is this a successful change? Well that's for you and us to determine! In general though, Luigi's Mansion is a fun, goofy, heartfelt game that uses it's ghosts and creepy aesthetic to do something different with a character we all know and love. We hope that you enjoy the episode, and thank you for listening!

    Mooglecast, Episode 23 | An Absolute D-hole | Pitch Me Vol.1

Warmest of Welcomes everybody! Max and Zac are back with another new guest as community member Gazdavis11 joins the show. The now usual run of the show begins with Platinum Shoutouts highlighting completions within the community. Zac then takes us through a somewhat unusual iteration of The Record as he highlights some of the highest rated game releases of the last two years that haven't been completed. Cactuar Vs. Tonberry follows with a review of last month and a new set of challenges from the boys to each other. Gaz has cooked up a special challenge that is sure to keep the boys on their toes going forward. Gaz kicks off What We Have Been Playing with some love for the PS Vita before breaking down an unexplored genre for him with Sand Land. Zac has been playing a number of smaller titles around the big release of Saros that has taken most of his time. Max has been busy, cleaning up four platinums including Clair Obscur and Kena: Bridge of Spirits as well as boosting in one of the most unique Crash Bandicoot games out there. The boys finish off with the promising new segment/topic named Pitch Me, where they each take the time to pitch a new game idea. Zac kicks off with a new tactics Final Fantasy game featuring a multitude of modes and spanning the series' impressive history. Max sends Yu-Gi-Oh to the shadow realm as he reimagines the classic IP as a Soulslike game. Gaz rounds the segment off by bringing a franchise he enjoys, SpyHunter, into the modern day with twists and turns that get the ideas flowing. We hope you all enjoy the episode and we'll see you again in June where Zac will once again have the reins. Until then, Be excellent to each other. Zac

PS Plus Game Club - Episode 41: Metal Eden

Kenny Albanese and Brady (FatePrime) join Kevin To talk about Metal Eden, a stylish and fast boomer shooter that came out just last year. First they talk about what they love about the core gameplay loop of shooting, running, and punching their way through hoards of enemies. They recognize how it features so many different aspects of some of the best shooters in the past few years, but it shows that the small team at Reikon Games knew what made all of those parts special. The three of them take a few minutes to try to make sense of the story, but even after a few playthroughs they still have a hard time piecing it together. That’s not important though because what really matters is the gameplay and how much fun they had, even if there were a few bugs. They each have their own glitchy stories and some are much worse than others. Looking past those bugs is very easy though because they all agree that almost every weapon in the game is arguably a favorite and has a place in the regular rotation. There is a lot they all have to say about Metal Eden and if you haven’t played it, we hope their enthusiastic discussion spurs you to try it. Give ‘em hell, Hyper.

Trophy Talk Special - Big Walk Preview

Kevin just got to preview the game Big Walk with three friends in the Portland area and then he sat down with Nick who was with him to share their thoughts about the game. Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 144: In Sickness and In Health

Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. On this month's episode Colin is joined by Kevin Garaventa and Will AKA Sqweezy from down under! After what has been a difficult week personally for both Colin and Will, the prospect of gathering around the proverbial hearth and talking about trophies and video games was a much needed reprieve, and one the boys were all too happy to take advantage of. We start off the episode by looking forward and backward at what recent episodes have hit the network, and what is to come. Kevin is very hot indeed on Metal Eden and by the time this episode releases, he will already be recording his thoughts on the game for May's PS Plus Game Club. Colin is also excited after a pretty mid experience with Tormented Souls to get to something more light hearted and fun in Luigi's Mansion 2 for May's Surviving the Horror, and Will is looking forward to his future streaming and YouTube videos on his own channel. After introductions the crew discusses their favorite trophies earned in the last month, what we've been playing, answers Patron write ins and also gives our customary Platinum Shout Outs. The bulk of our discussion here centers around what game we would erase from history if we could, and how we think Marathon is performing now that it's been in the wild for a few months time. If Steam charts are any indication, Marathon has roughly 1/3rd the daily active user base of Helldivers 2 which came out 2 years ago at this point. Is the small but hardcore community enough for the game to find continued success? Lastly the team gives some initial thoughts and a gut check on Saros, the newest console exclusive from Housemarque and a spiritual successor to Returnal. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for listening!
